I had the loco moco dish. The kalua pig is excellent. The sides are solid too: fried egg, fried rice, macaroni salad. I also went to their brother restaurant, Uncle Bo’s. The portions are bigger but I liked the food truck a lot more. If you are planning a trip to Oahu and looking for recommendations, please see

Great food and amazing service. My friend and I made this the last stop on our day trip to Hawaii and we couldn’t have been happier to do so. The loco moco was great but I personally can’t wait to go back and have more of that chili!

The guys were really nice, we had the spicy garlic shrimp plate and the chee-cho chicken plate that were both delicious!

Mmm! Let me preface by saying I love Hawaiian food! I have been looking forward to this trip solely to eat Hawaiian food. Lanis did not disappoint! My boyfriend and I split the kalua pork and the kalua pork fried rice loco moco. Both were equally delicious but for different reasons. The kalua pork was so simple; the pork was so tender it literally melts in your mouth. The fried rice comes with a gravy sauce and sunny side up egg which really elevated the pork. But my absolute favorite was the mac salad. I literally could have eaten a plate of that on its own. You just can’t go wrong here!

Delicious and not crowded like the area with all the food trucks, came out really quick, large portions and the fried rice and pulled pork sandwich were both really good but the flies are super annoying!

The Kalua pig fried rice loco moco is absolutely amazing! Really going to miss this when I go home. Do yourself a favor and get this when you are in Hale’iwa!

Kahlua pig fried rice loco moco. That’s what you need to order. So satisfying. No regrets, don’t care about bathing suit bod anymore. The flavor is quite complex with the smoky pig flavor and the runny egg yolk bringing it to the must have line. They make everything to order so be patient.

O-M-G this is the best loco moco… ever! My husband and I absolutely LOVED this joint. The portions were huge and gave us a second meal out of what we ordered. The guys in the truck were super nice, too! This is the definition of comfort food and it is so affordable for the amount that you get.

We have driven past this food truck in Haleiwa a million times and never gave it a second thought until the food trucks were our only choice two nights ago. Boy, have we been missing out. First off, the guy who waited on us was so personable and friendly, welcoming us as new residents of Oahu and talking to us about where we’re from. We ordered the Choo Hoo chicken plate. The chicken is prepared katsu style and topped with brown gravy. It was super crunchy and the gravy was really rich and savory. They also happen to have the best Mac salad I’ve had on Oahu. It has tiny bits of onion, carrots, and I think maybe green pepper. Whatever it is, it’s super tasty and not just a big glop of mayo like most. The food was prepared quickly but still with a lot of care by the also very friendly cook. In fact, we liked Lani’s so much that we returned the next night and I tried the BBQ pork sandwich. It was excellent! Huge serving of pulled pork in just enough tangy sauce, topped with crisp shredded cabbage for crunch, all on a sweet, soft Hawaiian roll, which is a great balance to the tangy pork. Best sandwich on the North Shore for sure. My husband got the prime rib loco moco. What a great spin on the traditional dish. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and flavorful. The best part, in my opinion, was that the gravy was on the rice with the meat and eggs sitting on top, giving great eye appeal and allowing the steak to shine. Great food, great people. If you’re in the Haleiwa area and hungry, give Lani’s a try.

Checkout Lani’s new location on the North Shore in Haleiwa town on Kam Hwy. Same delicious menu and great service.

Food was wonderful. Can’t remember the specific names of the dished but ordered chicken that came with a delicious gravy, rice and mac and cheese. Also ordered the pork fried rice which came with egg and mac and cheese. Servings were very large.

Came here for the loco moco and felt it was underwhelming. The hamburger patties tasted hard. My kid had something like tonkatsu chicken and that was decent. It also took a long time to get our orders. I also felt it was overpriced, but then you’re in Waikiki. I liked the atmosphere around the food trucks though.

Great food and extremely friendly people. You cannot go wrong with the food. Small location with 4 tables however everyone is willing to share space at their table

We had to try a loco moco in Hawaii and Lani’s Loco Moco was really close to all the hotels on waikiki so we tried it out. It was in a small lot designated for foodtrucks. The staff was really friendly and the servings were huge! I had the pork loco moco with fried rich which was really good. There was plenty of sauce that matched the massive amount of rice you got. It was about 11 bucks

Came for the prime rib loco moco, and was pretty impressed. I recommend substituting fried rice for the white rice. The mac salad was delicious! Not a bad food truck at all. Located in a food truck alley with about 5 other trucks with bench to sit at in between. Service was quick and friendly.

Ordered the regular Moco Loco and the Kahlua Pig Moco Loco and was not impressed. The hamburger was pre-frozen patties, or at least tasted/looked like it, the gravy was super salty, just an overall disappointment. We were told to try the Moco Loco once arriving to the island and this was a sad first impression. We later tried another place that was much much better. Atmosphere at the little food truck park was kind of dull, there was one other table occupied on a Saturday evening around 6:30…and some chickens. They were at least entertaining. Would not return to this particular truck.

Amazing food. Prime rib loco moco was incredible and they added fried rice so it was that much more delicious. Service was super friendly. If it wasn’t my last night in Hawaii I would be back again!

I’m not going to lie, I was hoping the loco moco would blow me outta my mind just by reading all the good reviews, but I was quite disappointed. The prime rib meat was tough and chewy with too many fatty pieces, not tender like how I’d imagine it to be. It was overcooked. Overall with the egg, rice, and gravy it was just Meh. The service was great though, guy was super friendly and came to our table to chit chat about how our vacation was going.

Located in the Pau Hana Market on Beachwalk in Waikiki, between Hard Rock/Bills and Trump Hotel. There is about 5 – 6 food trucks in this little parking lot, converted food truck stop. There are about 6 park bench/tables that are shaded to eat on. Lani’s is the the bright yellow truck. As their name states they specialize in Local Mocos. They also have Chili, kalua pig fried rice and Chicken Katsu. I decided to have the most expensive item on the menu, the Prime Rib Loco Moco. The slice of meat was about 10oz med rare, tender and juicy. The gravy was dark, intense and meaty, more of a demi glacé. The mac salad was your usual hawaiian mac salad, good. The rice was unfortunatley MUSHY, which is why they got 4 stars. If the rice was cooked well, this dish is a def 5 stars. The price of 14.95 is also a little steep, but this is Waikiki, so I wouldnt expect any less. Service was quick and friendly and I received my food in about 5 minutes. Lani’s seemed the most popular truck in the lot, which is why I chose them. They did not disappoint.
