One of the best sandwiches ever. I visit this quaint little town every year and have missed out on this amazing sandwich shop. Great friendly people. I will definitely be back.

Wow, best sandwich in Hawaii! Most places like subway or whatever I always have to add bacon to the sub to make taste better, but seriously no need at stortos. Their papaya dressing on the sunset sand which just kills it. Not once had a bad sub, been going there for years.

You cannot compare Subway with this place! Storto’s is pretty much on it’s own level. The portions are huge and the price is well worth it. Their sauces and slices of meat, makes their sandwiches come back for more. My boyfriend bought a whole thinking he could finish it, but was only able to finish half. Heck, I couldn’t even finish half.

Let me begin by saying that Storto’s is Subway on steroids. Starto’s cemented itself as a North Shore staple many years ago and is definitely a must stop destination. The sandwich shop is located in Downtown Haleiwa. It’s next to Lanikai juice and across from the recently closed Strong Current. The shop offers a variety of signature sandwiches from their menu such as Velzyland, Sunset etc. The list goes on and on. All the sandwiches are topped with Boar’s Head Meat and the freshest veggies. You can custom make a sandwich or stick to the classics. What really makes Storto’s the king of sandwiches though is the bread! The bread is like nothing you have ever eaten before. It’s soft and so flavorful. They also offer many sides, my favorite being the potato salad. Honestly I would go 45 minutes out of my way from town just to get this. Like many of the other reviews have stated, parking is limited. Haleiwa gets hectic during the lunch rush so if you can, avoid the peak hours. If you can’t find parking in front than you can go to either shopping center found adjacent to the shop. Make sure to grab a sandwich from Storto’s no matter where you are on Oahu!

We’ve been going to Storto’s forever(really since high school) and the sandwiches have been consistently amazing. The Velzyland never disappoints. I would honestly buy the bread itself, it’s that good. And the papaya seed dressing must be put on everything. Prices are very reasonable and everyone’s always friendly.

Storto’s you are my jam! I finally found an awesome sandwich shop on the island. After days of searching for that perfect cold cut Sammie, I found me Storto’s. I am mildly embarrassed for have eaten Subway, while this Storto’s was under my nose the whole time. Their portions are ginormous! I ordered a half sandwich and it was plenty to keep my belly full. Please be mindful, this place is cash only. Chips and drinks are extra. It is small on the inside. Outdoor Seating is all around. I had the pepperoni, Bologna, and salami sandwich. It comes with lettuce, tomato, green bell peppers, sprouts, mayo, mustard, and your choice of cheese and dressing(ranch, thousand island, Italian, etc.) After a day at the beach, coming here to splurge in calories is totally worth it!

Excellent sandwich! We ordered a combination of meats with traditional sauce(papaya?) the bread was super sweet white Brest, perfect for smoothing and stuffing your face with! Large sandwiches. Very friendly staff.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Best sandwiches on the island. I only gave 4 stars because the customer service is it or miss, mostly miss. They don’t always acknowledge you and are sassy when you call in to make a order. Nonetheless… The sandwich bread is amazing, big, soft and sweet. The meat is good too. Pay an extra 1.25 for avocado but they are a bit stingy on it.

Taste better than Subway! Only minus its huge and if no finish the dressing makes everything mushy… wonder if I can ask for it on the side next time. I always eat half and waste the rest. The buddha will strike me down for not finishing.

I think I’m addicted. Addicted to their papaya seed dressing and addicted to their sandwiches. This was my second time here and I ended up getting the same thing which was the Sunset sub. My hubby got the rocky something. Anyways its sooo good I don’t know why it took us so long to try this place. Stop reading my review and just go and try this place. Put it as your bookmark! Just don’t forget to come. Parking here is limited because they share parking with Lanikai Juice. You cannot miss it, its right on the strip. Just GPS this place and get a sub here. Okay thanks goodbye.

When going down to the North Shore and craving a healthy alternative to food trucks, head to Storto’s! It’s in Haleiwa town and shares a parking lot/space with Lanikai Juice. NOTE: Cash Only! Their sandwiches are HUUUGE and are perfect for sharing! I went with my family and we got 1 whole Waimea which comes with ham, turkey and salami and 1 whole Perry which comes with ham, Bologna, and salami. All sandwiches come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts, bell peppers, onion, your choice of cheese, and if you want, the must try papaya seed dressing!(I recommend at least getting some on the side.) We got both sandwiches split into thirds and it was the perfect amount! A whole sandwich is 16″ long, with halves of course being 8″. All sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, mayo, mustard, and bell peppers. We got the papaya seed dressing on the side. The half is $ 7.25 and the whole is $ 14.50. Definitely worth trying! :)

It’s a good sandwich spot conveniently located but definitely not the best. That place is a sweatbox, small variety in choices of drinks, and cash only. Good but not better than«Aloha Subs» in wahiawa. They even got with«the times» and got a card machine. Sandwich– good(better then subway I guess) Parking– mediocre Drink selection to go with 10ft sandwich– poor

I’ve searched Unilocal up and down to try and find the best sandwich place on island. Well, I think I’ve found it. Let’s get the nitpicking out of the way. This place is far away and hidden in Haleiwa, they don’t put a ton of meat on their sandwiches, and they don’t have the cleanest of tables. Who cares? This is easily the best sandwich shop on island. Their sandwiches come in two sizes, 8 inch or 16 inches. I got the 8 inch Waimea which had turkey, ham, and salami on it. I added some lettuce, sprouts, onion, and their papaya seed dressing(according to most of the reviews was a must get). I was not disappointed. The bread was soft and fresh, the deli meats were really delicious and they cut the slices in store, and the dressing was so bomb. I thought it might be overhyped, but man was I wrong. The sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink cost me $ 10. That’s Subway pricing. Think about that. Seriously, think about it. Make the drive guys. It’s completely worth it. It is by far the best deli sandwich I’ve had here in Hawaii. I consider myself a sandwich man, and this is one of the best.

We roll into Storto’s around 9:45 am and boy am I surprised to see that we weren’t the first ones in there. I mean I wasn’t about to order a breakfast sandwich although it definitely wasn’t lunch yet. There are daily specials for the adventurous type. But you can customize your sandwich if you are picky. They start with fresh soft bread, saw it in half and place your meat selection on. I found the bread to be generous while the meat… not so much. I got my choice of veggies, mayo, mustard, cheese and of course the dressing. Whatever you do, just trust me and listen to the next three words: PAPAYASEEDDRESSING. You could pour that on dirt and create the best mud you ever tasted. Believe me, you don’t want to miss out on this wonderful addition to your sandwich. Hit the ATM because this place is cash only. And trust me, it’s money.

I came here for the first time today and I enjoyed it! The lady who helped me(the owner I’m guessing) overheard me say to a friend that the menu looked«overwhelming», so she walked me through the meat choices as well as all other toppings. The sandwiches came out rather fast(considering she had to make six for us) and it was reasonably priced. The sandwich itself was delish. I had the Jocko and the papaya dressing was such a good pairing. Also a plus: they bake their own bread and the papaya dressing is their homemade house dressing! Bonus points for authenticity.

I’ve been going here since I was a high schooler, but my dad has been coming here since the 70’s. This is the spot to go to grab a bite before or after the beach! Everything is delicious about this sandwich! The hoagie bread they use is so soft, the meats and cheese are super flavorful, the vegetables are always fresh, and the best thing about this whole sandwich is the… PAPAYASEEDDRESSING! It has such a great tang to it! For anyone who hasn’t gone here before do yourself a favor and get this on your sandwich or at least try it on the side! It’s so good! Stortos should really bottle it and sell it! The ladies here are always, so nice to me! They always remember my name even if I haven’t gone here for months they still do! Thank you guys! Really makes a girl feel special! :) They always take their time to talk to me and catch up with me! You really get the aloha spirit here! Stortos can get pretty busy, but they’re usually really fast and on it! I don’t think I’ve waited over 5 minutes ever for my sandwich during a rush! It’s worth the wait if you ever do! What I usually order is the«Meat Specials» they have on their board. So usually they’ll have a «4 Meat Special» or «5 Meat special» which comes out to $ 7.50-$ 7.75 for a half of a sandwich! Totally worth it because these sandwiches are HUGE! I like to get a half sandwich with roast beef, pastrami, pepperoni, ham, and/or salami in my sandwiches! Dressed with mayo, mustard, papaya seed dressing, lettuce, sprouts, jalapeños, onions, and pepper jack cheese! But if you don’t want to go crazy like my sandwich they have daily sandwich specials named after beaches, so if you order them on that specific day you’ll get $ 0.25 off I believe! Jocko’s is my favorite! If you’re completely lost the ladies will help you order your sandwich without a problem! I’m always happy and more than satisfied with everything when I leave here! You’ll never want to go back to Subway ever again once you’ve gone here! See you guys soon! Xo.

I’m tempted to drive all the way to the North Shore on a regular basis, JUST to get oe of these sandwiches. I’m serious, they are THATGOOD. What makes this the best sandwich place on the island, IMO, is that it shares a space with Lanikai Juice. If you’re not already in the know, I LOVELANIKAIJUICE. Okay, so the bread here is made out of pillowy carbs of delicious. I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s phenomenal. The whole sandwich is gonna run you $ 14, which seems ridiculous for a sandwich, but it’s worth it. You can eat on that thing for two meals, easily. It’s been busy both times I’ve been in, but the ladies working prepared my sub SUPER fast, which is appreciated when I have a hungry little one. Seating is limited, but I’ve always found a spot. You should totally go here: Now. Also, remember it’s cash only, and get the papaya dressing, it’s SOONO!!!

Holy cannoli. My girlfriend and I were wandering yesterday and it was getting close to dinner time and we wandered in here literally in here just in time to be the last two customers of the day saving us from having $ 30 plus dinners. Even though I know they were tired and wanted to go home, the two women were friendly and made sure we knew that the papaya dressing was a must for any sandwich. I ordered the Sunset which had turkey, ham and roast beef, with swiss, all the fixings and papaya dressing and even with half a sandwich, I couldn’t finish it. Deeeeelicious! Everything was fresh and made to order and the papaya seed dressing added a great flavor to the sandwich. They have picnic tables and some counter seating outside if you’re not looking to take your sandwich to go. They have a good selection of drinks and chips as well as pickles, potato salad and even ice cream floats for sale. Will definitely be back for more sandwiches next time I’m in the area.
