Went here for lunch recently on my way to Deep Creek. Service was okay, as well as the food (the nachos in particular were pretty good). The cocktails menu seemed to have pretty good options as well. Overall experience was pretty average.

Excellent choice for brunch. Came by after chuch with my teenage son… tried their mimosas… they were very refreshing. the staff is super attentive even management paid us a visit to our table… i tried the breakfast wrap and it tasted spectacular. .a huge wrap make sure you are hungry… my son had fishh tacos and thoroughly enjoy them… great experience… will be coming back again…

Place is awesome!!! After having a streak of bad experiences all around Hagerstown we decided to try something new. Boy were we happy we did been there 3 times in 2 weeks perfectly cooked meals everytime! Ima fat boy so I ordered the filet mignon with crab imperial and a crab cake it came with 2 sides so I got some veggies and a baked potato!!! It was so good I ordered the exact meal to go for my brother who was coming back from college to try!!! They have so many running specials that u could go there just about any day and get a deal on a freak meal! My family and I quickly made this out area goto spot! Plus the kids love the décor of the place it’s like a beach oasis in Hagerstown!

Visited over the weekend for dinner. Had reservations. Waitress never came to take order until we had been seated for 20 minutes. Took 1 hr and 20 minutes to receive our appetizers. In the men time I had spoken to both managers on duty. All thy would say is that they were busy and sorry. Finally received our dinner after 2 hrs of waiting. The food was good. The manager never returned to talk with us. They gave is a few free drinks but nothing else. Poor customer service and really poor management. I don’t see us returning after that awful night

My favorite place to eat every time I visit Hagerstown. The crab cakes are fantastic!

Staff is great, food is good bar food. Drink prices are good. Bar staff is so fun and friendly.

Dinner was a rush job and the place very noisy. Salads arrived before appetizer, check arrived at table before all finished with main course, tuna was over cooked even though waiter assured it would not be. Crab nacho was ok but portion was much smaller than in any other places. Poor value, poor meal.

We had driven a long way that day (from Massachusetts) and all we wanted was good meal. It was very hard to figure out the entrance and there not being any per say ‘handicap parking’. Finally got in and were seated. My friend and I decided to order apps for dinner. We ordered mild wings, potato skins and crab meat balls. Crab meat balls came and there were 4 the size of grapes (not even) on a piece of lettuce on the plate. Seriously, $ 13,00??? They were supposed to be hot, but they were served cold to luke warm at best. My French onion soup had been way over salted. As for the wings, the grease just dropped off of them. My husbands ribs were all bone-​he said he would be lucky if there was 2oz of meat on them. Even though the waitress was gracious enough to take the crab balls off the bill, this was way overpriced and the food was awful. Needless to say were disappointed! Never again!

Disgusting! A co-​worker and I went for lunch one day. While eating a ‘roach” crawled out of her lettuce across the table. She squished it and we called the manager over immediately. He was extremely gracious about it and gave her a gift card to come back. But truthfully, we both said no more, never again. It’s just a horrible thing to see when your having lunch. I’m sure it happens in some of the better places too but sorry, no excuse. Just nasty! And the food was terrible anyway.

Stopped in after a long drive and checked Unilocal for interesting menus. We loved the tropical theme with palm trees, Pirates and cool lighting. Fun bar with great setup and sound with dj and fun trivia game going on.
The waitress was great and answered all our questions and brought the food out quickly.
We had shrimp and crab quesadillas, Maryland crab cream soup, and fantastic chicken topped with crab imperial, yummy coconut rice with zucchini and squash on the side. Topped it all off with great cheesecake!

The food is ok, nothing special mostly it’s a bar the drink selection is ok they have some really good events there. Service is good it’s definitely better then a chain restaurant.

Stopped on the way from NC to CT. The food was GREAT! Best crabcakes ever; all crab with hardly any filler! Great portion of ribs! John was the best waiter, never wanted for a minute. Knew all about the menu & was really friendly. I would definitely recommend this place & if I’m ever in Hagarstown again would certainly return!

Bernies is a lot of fun if you’re up for a loud casual meal. It’s family friendly, but also a great place for drinks. The blueberry trashcans are a guilty pleasure for sure. Crab everything is a huge selling point. I’ve enjoyed every plate from crab fries to crab mac, crab wraps, and crab cakes. I will say I’ve had shells in the cream of crab, but it’s not a deal breaker considering all the other wins. Great service every time.

Was in town on business staying nearby and was drawn in by the road sign. As me and my co-​worker were walking up we noticed a banner that said «$ 5 Build Your Own Burger»…which was highly tempting on both the tummy and the wallet. Once inside, the hostess asked us to wait and then began to argue with another hostess about where to sit us. From this, we decided to help them out and sit at the bar. Once sat, the bartender came over and greeted us while dropping off a couple menus. She was, well… less than enthused it seemed to have a couple of guys belly up to the bar.
We went ahead and ordered some beer and then decided on food a few minutes later. Again, we were both enticed by the «build your own burger», so I placed my order. To my surprise, she let me know that they had actually went ahead and built my burger for me and it was meat, lettuce, tomato and onion. Nothing else, not even cheese. She said that each topping was .50 — $ 1 each and the burger did not come with fries. So, once you added anything to the burger, you were at the price of a regular burger. It was a very disappointing order cause by a truly misleading banner. I ended up with a crab cake sandwich. It seemed to be a basic sandwich, nothing special, but nothing gross. Was tasty for what it was.
Overall, I was disappointed, felt mislead and also felt like a burden to the staff. If in the area again, I will be avoiding Barefoot Bernie’s. No question.

This place was pretty surprising. It looked like a chain type of place that you usually see at the beach. When we walked in it was pretty noisy and club like. But we were seated in a back room that was still noisy but not as bad.
We started with the appetizer sampler which had crab balls, bbq oysters, potato skins and jerk chicken. The oysters were my favorite part. Then we found out that we were there for seafood special night so we both ended up getting crab legs and coconut rice. Both were extremely yummy, especially the rice.
There was also a Unilocal deal for a free dessert if you checked in. The manager let us both use the coupons which was very nice of him.
Sadly we were there late so they had to put the dessert order in before the kitchen closed. That was well before we finished our meal. But they were nice enough to box it up so we could take it with us.

Great environment and they even have a dummy that resembles Bernie from Weekend At Bernies! Our server was excellent and willingly recommended popular items from the menu. Everything tasted great and the crab cakes were filled with lots of real meat and not a lot of filler. This isnt in my local area, but if I’m ever in Hagerstown again, I will def stop by!

Came here on advice of hotel manager (after I turned down Texas Road House). It was a great choice.
I had the cream crab soup (very creamy with a hint of kick to it) — could have made a meal of it.
Followed that with Caribbean Mahi Mahi — very nice. Sweet salsa and a nice sharp spicy kick.
Tried a local beer (Troegs) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Waiter brought samples of 3 other beers from same brewer.
Great food and great service. Can’t ask for much more, but I also enjoyed the free dessert I got for checking in on Unilocal

I was really worried it wouldn’t be as good as the one in Outer Banks, but I was shocked! The crab cake sandwich was amazing! The atmosphere was very relaxed and I felt like I was at the beach. We both loved it. Our only complaints were the seafood stuffed hush puppies for the appetizer was not very stuffed. Also our waitress was not very sociable and she didn’t refill our drinks, but the manager spotted it and apologized. I will go there a lot more often and recommend it to everyone!

Food was decent and good service. Crab chowder and beer prices were on point though! I thought the pirate Theme was cool.

Food is above average. Crab nachos were decent and the draft beer selection is nice but limited.
It’s a beach themed restaurant, so don’t expect a white glove service.
If you’re need for a quick bite and cold beer, it’s perfect.
Lots of TVs in the bar area as well; I would go back if in the area.
