Clarion Hotel & Conference Center

bed bugs! I was eaten alive. What a creepy place. This place needs to be shut down. There’s a large pile of mattresses behind the dumpster in the parking lot and cat litter in the hallway. Signs that they are aware of the bed bug problem yet still book their rooms out.

I am currently at a conference at the Clarion in Hagerstown and I do not recommend using them for your event. They ran out of food 15 minutes into our event, blamed organizers and were unwilling to do anything to fix the situation. Last nice dinner tasted like plastic. Water frequently was not refilled. Hotel is dark and rooms have a strange odor. I will be strongly encouraging my organization to choose a new venue for next years event.

We were lucky to find an available room last night as all hotels for the previous 3 towns were booked and they were booked all the way to Hershey.
I called and they said they had a wheelchair accessible room with a roll in Shower –perfect. However, when I got there, I was told that the room was dirty so we couldn’t have it. We were offered an accessible room with double beds or a standard room with a king bed. We opted for the standard room. I’m not complaining because this was all very last minute (11:30 pm) and they gave us options.
We weren’t expecting much as we made the trek through the ultra hot hallways to the single elevator located at the far rear of the building but were pleasantly surprised when we got into the room. It was very clean and moderately updated (with the exception of an ancient fridge and chair). The room was also huge.
We slept solidly, comfortable bed. The walls didn’t seem thin. The shower had nice water pressure.
To note: the standard bedrooms for a standard sized wheelchair but the bathrooms don’t fit the chair and the shower isn’t a pull down etc… So while we made this work, it may not work for someone with less ability physically.

This is a very nice hotel. No complaints. The price was right, the room was clean and comfortable, and the service was fine. Some reviews mentioned that the hotel is old. My room was very nice and appeared to be newly remodeled. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
