The Art of Massage

After having cervical fusion surgery, my healing was slow due to constant neck and shoulder pain. After working with Leta for only a few weeks I feel I have turned the corner in my recovery. She took the time to listen to me and understand my pain and has relaxed muscles that have been tensed up for over a year. I cannot thank her enough for helping me heal.

Kudos to The Art of Massage, specifically Jessica who took me in on short notice and did a fantastic job relieving some nasty neck and back pain. I was visiting in the area and a trigger point flared up. She has fantastic hands and gave me a serious deep tissue massage that really took the edge off. I had a follow up massage a few days later and was able to enjoy the remainder of my vacation pain free… The location is convenient, simple, clean and very warm. I recommend The Art of Massage highly… and give an A+ to Jessica for her skill and style. I will be back!

On a recent vacation to St Pete, I found myself unable to relax. Since I was only there for three days, I thought a massage would help the relaxing start sooner rather than later. After a few searches, I found Art of Massage and booked an online appointment. Within the half hour, I got a call to confirm the time and day, and to remind me to get there a little early to fill out paperwork so I could get the full hour of massage time. The place is small, cute and clean. Jessica really worked through several spots of tension, especially on my back, and I felt much more relaxed afterwards. The prices are very reasonable, too. I only wish I had more time on vacation to go back! The next time I go to St Pete I will book my appointments before I fly there. It was a great experience!

Leta is a goddess amongst LMTs. An ex-​pat from the cold snowy Northeast, she has made her home in Gulfport and practices a little bit of muscular magic. Blessed she was able to fit me for a deep massage to limber up my knots and tweaks.

If you only read the first line I will say this, you definitely should go to the Art of Massage, and don’t hesitate. It will be one of the best things you will have ever done for yourself. I have seen chiropractors, other massages therapist, PT’s and acupuncturists over the years. The Art of Massage has provided me with more relief then all of them combined.
Now the rest of the review. I have been seeing Leta and the other therapists at the Art of Massage for almost 5 years. I have a history of chronic neck, back, hip and shoulder pain/​issues that were only exacerbated when I became pregnant with my first child. Although I find relaxing massages wonderful what I really needed was deep tissue and myofascial work done but I was also pregnant. I was given a gift certificate for the Art of Massage. Not only do they do myofascial and structural work but they also do prenatal massage. I hit the jackpot and after my first appointment began seeing her weekly throughout the rest of my pregnancy. With my second pregnancy the baby was breech. Through focused work on my hips and exercises she not only gave me incredible relief but we were able to turn the baby without the invasive and dangerous inversion that is normally practiced on breech babies. I am now seeing her again, to work on my shoulder and hip issues with focused work on these areas now that I am no longer pregnant.
The environment at the Art of Massage is wonderfully relaxing. It is peaceful, everyone there is incredibly professional but warm and friendly. Just the place to be while you are getting the kinks worked out of your body.
As an aside, while working with her I found out that she was also a pain relief doula. My husband credits her with saving our marriage, twice, with her support during our labors. So if you are also looking for an extraordinary doula, look no further.

My husband and I were in Gulfport for our honeymoon and noticed this massage parlor while walking around. We were curious, so we decided to try it out. It was the BEST massage I’ve ever had, and I just had a «massage party» at a massage parlor the previous week in Austin for my bachelorette! We quickly scheduled another much longer massage. We were worked on by two of the ladies here, and both were absolutely wonderful. Their rates were very reasonable too. I highly HIGHLY recommend them!

Leta is awesome. She is a deep tissue pain specialist. She knows her stuff and fully explains things to you. Very friendly and professional. Worth every penny.

Lita really knows her stuff. Whenever I’m in rough shape I can count on her to work out the aches and pains. She is one of the most knowledgeable massage therapist that I have encountered.

Called for an appointment and they took me in within a day. They were professional, friendly, caring, and made me feel comfortable. They got the job done and I’m on the road to recovery. They are a little tough to find as they are located off the main road behind the big ice cream place in the shopping village. So park on the main road and walk into the complex.

I am really grateful to have found Art of Massage. I used to do Olympic weightlifting, and had to stop due to an accident-​related injury. When I got back into weight training, nothing seemed to go right — I was not regaining strength or functionality at all… I sought treatment and was told that I should also be getting massages to help with some of my soft-​tissue issues. After trying multiple people, I found Michelle at the Art of Massage. I have been very happy with the care I’ve received — I have been seeing Michelle weekly for a couple of months and I have experienced significant improvement. She assesses my posture each session and uses that information to put together a very thoughtful and thorough treatment approach. She always checks in with me and makes sure to address any of my concerns (verbally and through treatment) in each session. On multiple occasions I have showed up for a session to find Michelle waiting with information she gathered in her free time just to help me out (a sheet of exercises, stretches she recommends to help my body heal faster, etc). That alone speaks volumes — the care you receive here is genuine, and it shows. I would highly recommend this place!
