Came here for lunch on a Saturday, great happy hour prices on their beers! A cool spot with cute decorations. Super friendly and nice staff. The Food: Fried Calamari — so fresh and tenderly delicious! Mozzarella Sticks — good, not anything special, but they were yummy Clam Chowder — was much more watery than what I am used to, with that said, when this dish first came out I had super low expectations. After a few bites, I realized it was quite delicious! Very generous with the clams and not seafood-ie or sand-ie like how sometimes not fresh clam chowder can be. Fish and Chips — fish was so fresh and delicious. Batter was nicely done, not too much and didn’t feel too heavy/oily Everyone got a side of salad which was a nice plus! Overall, great experience, good food, cheap and good beer! Would recommend this place to others and come back again!

This place is great! My friends and I came here for a lunch pitstop in the middle of our weekend day trip to the wineries. We had been Unilocaling for seafood restaurants in the area and were choosing between this and another place. We were sold on this place once we saw the sign outside that they were doing happy hour specials all day! We were the first table in around 12:15pm and the restaurant got progressively more crowded over the afternoon. The restaurant had a really old school homey feel to it — I felt like I was in the scene of a Nicholas Sparks novel. The service was also good — the staff were very friendly and sincere. Our table got the following dishes to share: — Fried Calamari — Must try! Loved this especially with their homemade marinara sauce. It was also perfectly breaded and had a good texture. — Motz Sticks — Mozzarella sticks with their homemade marinara sauce. The cheese was oozing out when bitten into. Yummy! — Crispy Chicken Tenders — Super crispy and tasty! Great for sharing. I also loved dipping it in the marinara sauce(tip: you can ask for more sauce if you run out) — Crab Cake — OMGPLEASETRYTHIS. They are so generous with the crab meat! — Fish and Chips — Beer battered flounder. The batter is thin and crispy, just the way I like it. — Grilled Cheese Sandwich — For the sole vegetarian in our party, a.k.a. my boyfriend :) This is from the children’s menu if anyone is looking for it. In addition, all of us got a free side salad, and most of the dishes came with crinkle cut fries that were also super delish! All the food was very fresh. I had a great overall experience here at Vino n Vittles. Will definitely be back here if I visit Greenport again. Highly recommended!

After visiting a couple winery places we decided to come here for dinner. Great food and very pleasant service. I would recommend to come here earlier to have raw oysters, they were all sold out when we got there at 8pm. Overall I will come eat at this place again.

Had lunch here on a day out in the village of Greenport. My wife and I saw that the place was completely empty but had great reviews on Unilocal so we went in anyway. We ordered the fire roasted oysters, tuna tartare and the bacon lobster salad. The tuna tartare was great. The only complaint I have on this dish is I wish there were a couple more pieces of toasted bread to pile it on to. Still delicious though. The fire roasted oysters were a pleasant surprise. They came in deep oyster shells filled with a wasabi seaweed cream sauce of sorts. Unlike any oysters I’ve ever had and they were phenomenal. The bacon lobster salad came in a brioche bun with fries. It was a pretty standard lobster roll. The bacon added a nice touch, but the brioche really made the sandwich pop. The fries were crispy and soft inside making them a great side. Overall the place had solid food. Would def go back if we were in town again.

The fish is fresh and the service is good. Stay away from anything with rice and pasta.

Decent meal here before taking the Ferry to Shelter Island. We got two bowls of clam chowder and the tuna tartar. Our server was really nice. The chowder was thin, but tasty.

Excellent restaurant on Front Street. We had 2 little vittles and 1 big vittle. The little vittle was fried calamari which was cooked perfectly and was tender. The other little vittle was clams casino. Several whole small clams with breadcrumbs on top not a chopped up clam and breadcrumb like some other restaurants prepare. The big vittle was the Halibut which was served on a bed of rice and broccoli. The creamy lemon butter sauce was perfect. The halibut was not drenched in sauce. I don’t know who the chef is but everything was cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly. We will be back! This place should have been packed but I guess it’s not«trendy» like some of the other Greenport restaurants. I’ll take good food over trendy anytime.

My friends and I visited Greenport for the first time and decided to dine here after reading reviews from fellow Unilocalers. We were a very large party of 17, 9 adults and rest kids coming in on an early Sat night for dinner without reservations. The staff was very accommodating and the food was delish. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good food, friendly service, casual atmosphere with a lovely view of the carousel and the harbor at a reasonable price.

This was our second time here. Both times we had wonderful and satisfying meals. So far have had the crabcakes, sesame tuna and lobster bacon on a roll. The red chowder is tasty, even on a hot night and nice chunks of clams. Include a bottle of wine and sadly, we were too full for dessert. Prices were reasonable for the season. Very friendly staff. We will be back!

Had Father’s Day lunch there with my wife and two children and it was amazing. The service was perfect, the Halibut was one of the best pieces of fish that I have ever had, and the server was wonderful to my family. I will definitely become a regular here.

My first time in the area. My girlfriends and I were looking for something to eat. I had my heart set on seafood, but wasn’t seeing anything that interested me. We saw Vino n Vittles across the street from where we were standing after deciding not to go into yet another restaurant. We rushed across the street, read their menu and decided to give it a try. It was the best decision we made all day. Like I said, I was in the mood for seafood, and while they had seafood on the menu, it wasn’t what I had a taste for, so, I asked our waiter — who was really nice by the way, if they had fried oysters. He said, «no, but I think we can make that for you» my response — «What? Yessss!!! Thank You!, I’d appreciate that» The end result was SCRUMPTIOUS. They were seasoned well and fried just right. They should really consider adding them to their menu. We gave this suggestion to the waiter. I ordered the fish and chips. Again… NOT disappointed. I was skeptical because the fish is flounder instead of cod, but it was crispy and flavorful. Everyone was happy with their meal. My girlfriend had the lobster roll with bacon… yes, you read that right, I said BACON. I love bacon… anyway. Of course, I tasted it. It was Yummy as was everything else. When I come back, I’m getting the fried oysters and the lobster roll. The old bay flavor was on point and it wasn’t drowned in mayonnaise either — it was on a soft ciabatta roll. Mmmm. This place gets 4 stars from me. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check it out.

My husband and I decided to try lunch out for the first time with our baby this past Saturday. We couldn’t have had a better experience here! The owners and staff were very friendly, the location is great, and the food is a perfect addition to Greenport. The atmosphere is very nice, and there was a nice selection of music playing in the background. We sat in the front where we could enjoy the view and the springtime air. We had enough room to allow for our stroller, and no one seemed to mind our little one being there. I enjoyed the fried shrimp while my husband had the fish ‘n chips. The fried shrimp were great: large, meaty, and had almost a tempura like fried chicken style covering. The fries were nice and crispy. Our plates both arrived with homemade macaroni salad(thick corkscrew pasta), which was a very nice alternative to cole slaw. I had a couple of bites of the flounder as well, and it was nice and light. We topped off with chocolate cake for dessert. It was amazing, and definitely worth wrapping up lunch for leftovers. We will definitely make this our go to restaurant when we’re in the neighborhood again!

I attended the Greenport Chowder fest and thought that Vino n Vittles had the best chowder. A creamy, brothy creation with a great clam taste. Last month I visited the restaurant to see if my initial opinion was correct. Well, I am here to tell you that Vino n Vittles’ chowder was no fluke(pun intended). I brought friends from California and all agreed It was the best clam chowder we had ever tasted. We rounded out our visit with a tasting of Tapas and delectable Clams Casino. My wife raved about Tuna Tartar and after a couple of cocktails our visit to Greenport was complete. This Thursday we stopped by with friends from West Virginia and had the fire roasted oyster and halibut. They were great but nothings compares to their clam chowder Jerry from St. James

Open Mic Night… Mole Men to Greenport… come in come in… this is the BEST Open Mic Night on the East End. I tell you us Mole Men don;t get out often but due to repairs being made in the tunnel we have been able to explore Greenport Above Ground!!! What a great night… Open Mike Hosted by Dan Reyburn… several other musicians showed up including a sax player… Vino and Vittles was really busy for a monday night!!! We had the Hot Wings and Tuna Schooner which were superb. Our server Robin told us they were«To Die For». Having lived several lives underground I was not sure what she meant. But the Music was great… they played music that you dont hear that much. There was some talk of them playing 99 Red Balloons… but I think they are saving that til next week. I met this really cool earth chic named Kloe… she reminded me of one of the Mole mens sisters I knew in tunnel school. I cant say enough about how Good Vino N Vittles is… Right across from the Carousel and Marina. From Soup to Nuts the menu is Excellent. The selection of beer and wine was great as well. The owner even came by our table and rubbed our heads… We felt right at Home!!! Only complaint was the lights are turned up all the way. I’m used to being underground and prefer a little atmosphere… if you know what I mean. I don’t think atmosphere is high on their list. Johnny Rocker B

I was pleasantly surprised when we strolled the street and couldn’t decide where yo eat. Across from the carousel very convenient to parking. The menu was complete and was very happy in the choices of meat fish and poultry. The wine recommended by Jean the bar tender was spot on. Great place for a casual yet great dining experience.
