Know what to expect! Lots of fond memories at the Greenport LIRR station as its the last connection with the city before you’re ferried off to the magical island of Shelter, but enough about my memories. It’s a small station which only accommodates 2 double decker cars coming out of Ronkonkoma. The station and facilities for that matter are bare to the bone and on your return trip to the city you’ll be buying your tickets on board(no machines for purchasing on the platform). If you’re coming back west, make sure to get to the train early, during peak season give yourself 20+ minutes and don’t be that person who puts their luggage on the seats. Otherwise getting to Greenport and the North Ferry, the LIRR is one of the easiest ways to travel.
