The space is cute. However! The food was terrible, the steak is dried, over grilled. I haven’t had this kind of bad experience in greenpoint forever. Totally over priced for this kind of quality.

I’m actually here right now there is a swarm of kids running around, they were playing radio pop station with some rap about being a freak and getting came on. We had to ask them to change the mind numbing station because the idea of hearing a DJ on the radio at a 4 $ steak house is effing insane. The place is extremely understaffed, supposedly there’s a watch your food being made area but they sat my reservation of four at the bloody effing bar. They have no wine list! NOWINELIST!!! Just a bottle of merlo, 3 shite beers on tap and a cocktail list that’s way sweet made by a guy who looks like mike Gordon from phish but on the worn out twink side. What looks like the chef, a woman in the garb and apron is running around cleaning tables will some floosey of a woman that’s sadly playing the roll of the waitress and seams to not know her part or the menu at all, and the appetizer for the table comes and there are no small plates. Ok, just got done eating this filth, F this place. This is the worst dining experience I have ever had and I’ve had Korean bbq in Morocco and they don’t even have pork belly cause it’s a Muslim country. The potato gratin was fucking burnt, my medium rare steak was medium well and burnt, actually all the steaks were burnt, even the supposedly chewy old dried out rare steak they made one of us eat was burnt, plus not even the cut we ordered, now of it was a cut, was more like a sawed of sliver of a cow penis charred to the point of no recognition. This place should be closed, there is no excuse for such shitty food, small burnt portions and shite service. Way to ruin my friends bday and my mood you insolent F bags.

I went here on a Thursday night(They’re only open three days a week). I ordered a hanger steak with mash and spinach as my sides. The sides came out cold and the steak was lower quality than the price would suggest. In their defense I never asked what the quality of their cuts were — So that was my fault. Other reviewers have already pointed this issue out. The venue is nice, but the service is off their game. I couldn’t recommend this place with the plethora of higher quality steakhouses in the Brooklyn area. Menu was very confusing — As many items on the menu were no longer offered. My friend did like the dessert — Apple pie something? — but I skipped on it. The place and staff need work.

I was visiting my friends in New York and they brought me here. The food is so good! I tried my friend’s food too and OMG, so good! The steak was juicy and to die for. The mash potatoes were creamy. I loved the cauliflower as well as the Brussel sprouts with beacon! It was sinful. I usually hate this veggie but i love it here. I’ll only eat brussel sprouts at this restaurant. … The restaurant was beautiful and the service was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. I will come here again. That’s for sure!

Brooklyn’s never tasted MEATTHISGOOD! I love the open kitchen, witnessing my food being prepared, while enjoying the friendly environment. The menu is simple but HIGHQUALITY! I highly recommend ordering the cauliflowers and mashed potatoes with your dish. I’m all about family style sharing and this place is so on top of that and accommodated my guests so we try a little of it all!

I’d never been to Coco, the resto that inhabited the space formerly, so I spent the entire lead up to the food arriving, excited, as I think the design detail there is very well done indeed. Then the food came. Over salted salad, cold soup, and the free«Yorkshire puddings» were like sponge cake with burnt onion gravy, NOT a Yorkshire Pud at all!!! The steaks were just OK, but the sides were quite awful. And then the service. The waiter hit new lows in the dining scene. Even by Brooklyn’s oft mediocre standard, I’d bet money this bloke had never waited tables before. When we asked if the Cash Only policy was stated anywhere, he said Oh, I guess we forgot to put that on the menu tonight. Absolute amateur hour. The good news is, this concept will not last and hopefully a real chef/restauranteur will come in and do something good.
