Jonny D’s Pizza

This place is awesome. Pizza’s got a great gravy and the Greek salad is legit.
Staff is always accommodating and courteous. They accept competitors coupons which is awesome. Prices are very reasonable and the food is always great.

This is my new favorite pizzeria. The employees are very welcoming and extremely friendly. I have only tried the regular slice and the Sicilian, but both were excellent. On other occasions, I have had the tossed salad, which came with two garlic knots. The salad was freshly made with an array of crisp vegetables, and the portion size was generous. The sautéed vegetables are also a nice choice. My favorite item that I have had is the grilled marinated chicken, which can be added to your salad, or you can get as a side dish. Very clean, good service, great food. Highly recommended.

There are many better places. The guy behind the counter with his pants falling off doesn’t help either.

What a sad time in Greenlawn! ;(Jimmy’s was an Icon in this town! The Best Italian food ever! The staff was awesome! Now food is horrible, over priced & the staff is like they could careless! I will not be returning here ever & neither will any of my friends or family! R.I.P. Jimmy’s & ty for all the years of Great Service & Great food!

Not nearly as good as Jimmy’s — Broadway Pizza is now my choice for Casual Pizza Restuarant in Greenlawn. Jimmy’s was so successful — not sure why anyone would buy it and make changes.

Very surprised to see the bad reviews for Johnny D’s. I I recently moved to Greenlawn and ordered delivery 4 times in two weeks. The ordering process was quick, and the food has been excellent. I ordered chicken parm hero, pasta with shrimp, lasagna, pizza, and a salad with grilled chicken. Each item was really really good! I would consider myself a really tough critic as well.

I’ve been eating at this pizzaria for years, (when it was jimmy’s) because of there awsome bbq chicken slices!
I had my eye on the last 2 slices they had, i was drooling in anticipation of enjoying these delicious slices and BAM…2 disgusting flies landed on the best peice of chicken on the whole thing. My heart dropped, and a overwhelming sensation of disgust took over me. All I kept thinking about as I walked out was how many times before has that happened. Its safe to say i will not be going back!

Finally tried the food here tonight. Penne alla Vodka was ok, but the pasta was mushy. I ordered the Chicken Francese «lemony». It should come lemony… with lemon IN it… it’s supposed to be a lemon sauce. It was completely void of flavor. My 3 ½ yr old said «this was a mistake». They actually gave us a lemon with it. My husband was told that is what they do when you order it lemony. Huh??? The pasta with that was also mushy. The garlic knots were doughy on the inside with raw garlic on the outside. Terrible!!! I will be going to Jimmy’s in Centerport for great garlic knots. Lastly, the Zeppoli was more like a donut. Off texture, and what’s up with the granulated (instead of powdered) sugar. Very dissapointed.

Tasteless pizza and lousy customer service.
Ordered a pie, and calzone and when I went to pick up the order the pizza was already out of the oven. I had to wait another 15 minutes for the calzone. Not once did the owner or counter girl apologize for the wait which took a total of 35 minutes from when I called in the order. So came home to cold pizza and hot calzone.
I’ve been ordering from Jonny D’s since they took over from the previous Jimmy’s and it’s been on a steady decline. Tonight was definitely the last time I order from here.

I was driving to see my mom for Labor Day weekend and my kids were starving so we stopped in here to eat.
The staff couldn’t have been nicer as my kids were crazy excited to be out of the car!
I had the chicken Parm hero — seriously so good! My son & husband had a few of the specialty slices– they were awesome!
My daughter who is totally picky tried the penne alla vodka and loved it. I tried a bite and it was delicious!
Too bad this gem isn’t in our home town or we were be there weekly!

I’m not sure why this place caught such a bad rap on Unilocal.My visit to this pizzeria was perfectly fine. When we walked in we were greeted by the girl at the counter as well as all the rest of the employees. Yes, everyone stopped what they were doing to say hello. I guess we had we’re not from around here written across our foreheads. The girl also came from behind the counter and brought our pizza to the table where we were waiting eventhough it was a to go order.
We just had some plain slices so I can’t speak about any of the other food, however I will tell you the slices were hot crisp and cheesy. They were also a bit longer than the average slice. Towards the middle of the slice it began to droop a bit but I forgive them because that ended up being my favorite part.
Their menu boasts they have the best pizza in town, they could be right but I have nothing to compare it to in this area. All I know is I had a decent experience and I rate the slice a 7/​10, definitely better than average. In addition to the box they also gave us paper plates as if they somehow knew we’d be eating on the go, good insticts… we were on our way to the Vanderbilt mansion and plannwd on eating it in their picnic area.

I wanted so badly to like this place. Replacing Jimmy’s marginal pizza wouldn’t be hard to do. The new Johnny D’s is just awful. The pizza was literally the worst thing I have ever tasted. I have never experienced anything like it. I’ve heard about the service which I did not experience. The young folks behind the counter were perfectly nice but young and you can’t really expect professional service. Perhaps they will get that right. I have read the other reviews and being local I will give the food menu items a try. It couldn’t possibly get worse.

Food is good service is poor. I went in to pickup my order and I was ignored and when served the cashier had trouble making change. The prices are much higher than Jimmy’s which they took over and their prices are much higher than the competition down the street. All in all the higher prices are not worth it. They are not off to a good start.

DELICIOUS. First order I took it from this spot was a panini & a fresh mozzarella/​tomato salad. The panini was off the hook & salad was even better!!! The pizza looked phenomenal so I’ll definitely be going back for slices. Few familiar faces from when it was Jimmys which is great and the newer staff is bomb dot com & As sweet & as accommodating as could be. Can’t wait to try what els they have to offer
