wedding, 130 guests — Melissa and her team are awesome! Melissa is extremely organized, kind, and has a ton of expertise. The food was amazing (all our guests raved about it), everything looked great, she understood my vision, and was a pleasure to work with. She makes your event a priority (through planning and execution) and I would highly, highly recommend Christopher’s full service catering for any large event! So many of the little details and rentals were taken care of for us so we could just enjoy our wedding day! Worth every cent and very delicious!

I just had their Ultimate Grilled Cheese — it was amazing! I’ve been in before for salads (also, very good) and other food for my family. They’re always very nice and fast.

Walked in, no one in line, ordered two sandwiches. 46 minutes later we got the two sandwiches. Obviously that isn’t acceptable. I would give just one star, but the food was pretty darn good. Rueben sandwich was the best I had in a long time. Super cheese with turkey and veggies was good and unique. People working there were nice enough. My recommendation is to ask them if they have a bunch of phone in orders ahead of you.

My finance and I set up an appointment in January 2016 fo r catering for our wedding. We met with the owner Mel everything was awesome. the, event for the catering was scheduled for Oct 2016. Here we are in March. We put down a 500 dollar deposit, my finance and I are paying for our wedding ourselves. Our financial situation and some other stuff has changed. We contacted Mel to cancel the event and asked for our deposit to be returned. I understand that we do need to compensate something for her time. They only want to give a partial credit back, in the terms of using it in the future. There was no contract signed, only a verbal agreement. I feel that we should refunded 400 – 450 back out if the deposit. We cancelled 7 months before the event. Not 30 or 60 days beforehand would I use them again, no way, unless you are 100% sure your going through the plan, or have a signed contract.

Planning a wedding? Look no further. I just had them cater my wedding 02÷26÷16 and let me tell you how phenomenal they all are. Mel is a ball of energy with the best of intentions and vision for the bride and groom at heart. She has everything covered from the first meeting and it was all so simple I always felt like I must be missing a step! She handles so much more than just the food she is a great person to have in your corner in such a stressful time. On to the food, amazing, not a single complaint from the crowd and plenty of it to go around! We did buffet style and everyone had full plates a few seconds and they bag up the leftovers and send it home with you (ours landed in someone’s hotel room for the after party) they even picked up our kegs and got taps and returned it all for us. The deli food is amazing as well, but I truly think there isn’t a thing this entire group wouldn’t do for you. Follow her suggestion and do a cake topper and the mini desserts, people were in awe over them! Hands down the best decision I made for my wedding.

My son and I just ate there for the first time even though I work just a few businesses up the street, thought I’d give it a try and had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it was all I could do to keep quiet from making yum sounds while devouring it. Nice atmosphere, great service and very pleasant staff. I work in a salon and Christopher’s will deliver if they can which is also a huge bonus for our clients. Definitely recommend this business for lunch and dinner and they also cater :)

Loved it! Fast friendly and yummy. Couldn’t have asked for more. Prices are great too considering its a tourist area.

We just had our wedding, and had the pleasure to work with Christopher’s Deli. (Mel)issa was UNBELIEVABLE! She has so much energy and passion for what she does. She, and her staff, go above and beyond expectations; she does much more than just cater food, she caters an experience.
Now on to the food! WOW. Our set up was buffet style, and let us tell you: no flavor loss and gourmet all the way! The food was fantastic and plentiful! I saw quite a few people go back for seconds and the plates were heaping.
The service was exceptional as well. Mel and her team did the set up and clean up. It almost seemed like we had a wait staff with her crew, catering to our and our guests every need.
I can’t imagine anyone finding a better partner to have cater a wedding. A+ service.

I moved to a Grass Valley about a year ago and the best sandwiches I’ve had so far are made at Christopher’s. Their soups and salads are also impressive but I rarely order them. The location is also nice, I can sit by the window and see what’s going on downtown. The employees are polite and waste no time in preparing your food. Jessica and Tom show excellent service at the front of the deli and they are always very friendly.

Great food, reasonable prices. The wait staff are clueless. They visit with each other and ignore the clients.

Awesome food, killer service. I had an It’s All That, and it was more than All That! Totally grubbing goodness. Try it…

Pleasantly surprised — first time there last night and really enjoyed the food. Service was a little odd, wonderful guy who was very enthusiastic (in a good way!) when he came to our table, the problem was actually getting him there. Everything was fine, we knew we had plenty of time to get to our evening show, it was just a tiny bit odd.
Also — it may be nothing to others, but for us there were a couple of menu issues. First, the menu specifically said that the pork belly on my husband’s burger was uncured, but our server made a point of saying it was «cured in-​house.» Either way it was delish, it just resulted in an unnecessary moment of «Wait, what?»
The other awkward moment was when the plates came and we noticed that the french fries — which the server said were especially good — turned out to have come from a bag (i.e. frozen). Don’t get me wrong, they were fine, just… in a place that goes to the trouble of cooking all their own deli meats in-​house, it just seemed odd.
Now, with all that out of the way — our burgers were quite delicious. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, good meat-​to-​bun ratio, great toppings. We will happily return again!

I was in town visiting from LA, a friend who highly recommended this deli for it’s unique dressings and sauces. They even catered her wedding. We came in around 2 pm. We went to the counter and asked an employee who was off the clock, who was willing to answer our questions. We asked what she recommended and she replied the caprese and Reuben. We told a different lady that we wanted the caprese sand which and Reuben and the rest of our party was still looking at the menu. She stated that we do not serve sandwiches right now, you can come back at 5. She said the only think we could order were hamburgers and hot dogs until 5. So we left and took our business else where. When we came back to our car, around 4 pm, we saw people I. The restaurant eating sandwiches. We came back in and asked the same employee «you told us you didn’t serve sandwiches until 5 and everyone is eating sandwiches.» Her first reply was, «no they are eating hamburgers» than she replied, «well, of course we have sandwiches we are a deli.» We stated «we asked you 3 times if we. Old order a sand which and you stated no.» There were 4 adults in our party and all 4 adults heard the same conversation. We understand this could be a miscommunication through your employees, but we could not find anywhere that stated you do not serve sandwiches after 5. I would have loved to try your sandwiches I heard such good things from, but honestly you have lost a future customer.

My father and I came in a couple nights ago to grab a bite to eat before a concert we were attending. This had been recommended to us by the concert venue and my dad and I had high hopes!
We were greeted upon walking in and sat but never given menus. After a couple minutes our server (she never gave us her name) came over to take our order, only to realize we didn’t have the menus.
She didn’t know what the specials were or even what beer was available. After many questions and failed answers we decided on some food and beer.
Now, as a server, I find myself being critical of other servers but I also can empathize and I was under the impression she was new.
Our food came out and looked delicious! But after inspecting and taking a bite of my sandwich, I realized it was the wrong one. A nice woman who worked there too, saw me looking very confused and asked me if everything was okay. I explained and she quickly fixed it all and made me my original sandwich.
When given the bill, our server just dropped it on our table and told us she was trying to go home. We promptly paid and left.
Overall, the service was subpar and the food was okay. We will most likely not return.

Very good sandwiches, done in a classic style. If they served coffee, I would probably go there on a daily basis.

The lady owner is so rude. I have been in the restaurant business all my life and I have never seen anyone act the way she does to her customers. I will never go back again!

Very much enjoyed the Locals Only sammie, veggie with brie (yum). Also, looking forward to hitting up the Ruben.

Another great deli in the USA this deli features a creative menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. The atmosphere is nothing fancy or anything to brag about just clean and nice deli that fits grass valley. I’d say this is the best sand which in town. I love the king of New York it’s piled with meat and flavor … Good stuff enjoy it’s affordable, its good, it’s friendly
