Let me start by saying I did not make it to a table or tried any food. The hostess stopped my experience. This was my first visit. We just moved to Kansas City from Alabama almost a month ago. When we walked in we were told there would be a 30 min wait, which was fine. We took the buzzer from the hostess and walk back out to our car to wait because it was crowded inside. We park in the spot closest to the door. After 45 minutes had pass my boyfriend went inside to see what was wrong. The hostess told him that they had buzzed us but it didn’t work because we were outside and we would have to wait an additional 15 minutes because we missed our table. Now, when the hostess gave us the buzzer she watched us walk outside with it. She did not say anything indicating the buzzer would not work outside and she did not say anything telling us that we may need to stay inside. I walked back in, gave the buzzer to the hostess and told her that she lacked proper etiquette as a hostess and that it was rude of her to not let us know that we needed to stay inside. I was not rude telling her this but she had a frown on her face like she was more upset than I was. I will never return to this location ever again. I honestly don’t think I will try any location. This was the worst service I have ever had before I even met my waiter/​waitress. If your going for the first time do not go to this location. It will ruin your entire outlook on the chain. At least it did for me.

Pretty upset… I asked my husband to get me a big bowl of potato soup and what he brought home was the size of a cup. I paid for a bowl I don’t understand why I didn’t get a bowl of soup. I don’t think it’s right to do this a rip off the customer by telling them a bowl fits into your tiny to go cup. Try packing it up into two containers like it needs to be. I’ve had other restaurants say the same thing. So I ordered the soup in house then tried to fit it into the to go container and low and behold it takes two containers. Rip off artists. Be truthful with a customer.

The service at this location was epically bad today. The people next to us waited over an hour and never received their entrees. Everything at this location seems confused.

Used to be a great restaurant. Today the bar area floor was so covered in grease that customers, chairs and servers were sliding everywhere. There were broken shards of glass plates all over the floor and table. Ordered a steak, was never asked how I w anted it done. Came out very well done. Very little seasoning on all food. Had to remind waitress that both meals and kids meal came with dessert. No one ever came to check on food. Never got the manger we asked for. Don’t know why there is a decline but it sure has.

Good appetizers and burgers tonight. Service was also pleasant and present. Plenty of T.V. to watch your favorite game. For dessert try the carrot cake, guaranteed winner. I also like the way this place stakes a claim in our community. Fifteen percent of our bill tonight was donated in support of the local high school softball team. Keep up the good work 54^th SG!

Great place with great service! Waffle fries and gringo dip are what we come for! Very friendly staff and quick service! Great alcohol choices and happy hour is the best! Awesome deals every night of the week

I’m from out of town and tried this place out. It looked identical to an Applebee’s (which is down the street) but was not as nice. It was fairly dark and very noisy, not from music or tvs but just a lot of people talking. It would have been nice to drain some of that down with music. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. The bartender was extremely rude and short. She never smiled and looked like she hated it there. The menu is absolutely too much, so many options! The food was actually the best thing about this place hence 1 star. I got the Cajun burger. However I enjoyed it without any utensils or napkins, ended up using the small ones at the bar. I was pretty fed up with the place so I left as soon as I was done eating. I didn’t even finish my beer. I don’t recommend this place at all and I’ll never try it again. Oh and a waitress basically forgot how to walk and dropped a tray full of food.

I eat here a lot. Waffle fries with gringo dip are a must and can be added to any meal. 54 margaritas are great and service is usudlly pretty good. Today i had kayla p and she did a great job.
I normally have a sandwich, but opted for the 2 5 oz filet dinner. Bacon was not cooked well at all. Zero crispyness to it. And the two filets were of totally diffeerent from each other. One was ok the other i couldnt finish it was so tough.
I still recomend this place, but get a sandwich

Great experience. Lots of choices. Quality food and service. Not bad for a chain. Great pasta and awesome catfish. Reasonable price. Great service.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated in less than ten minutes although the place looked did look busy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to our orders including the constant changing ones from our picky eaters. We were prepared for an enjoyable meal until my husband asked our waitress if she could change one of the T.V.‘s channel to a soccer game. She happily agreed and said the bartender would change it shortly. Ten minutes later the bartender started looking for the channel, my husband went over to help her find it and as he was talking to her she kept rolling her eyes and was very obviously ignoring any suggestion he was giving her so he came back to the table and sat down. 5 mins. Later she comes by and says she can’t find it he then ask if he can look for it, she rolls her eyes and rudely gives him the remote. He found it after about a minute. My sister and I both ordered a drink from the bar, she had the strawberry Long Island and I had the white sangria. Both were very good. After we received our drinks my husband ordered a boulevard and after what seemed like forever he called our waitress over and she said it would be out soon. My husband finished his meal and shortly after he received his drink. The bartender did not seem friendly nor happy to be there. Luckily our waitress was amazing and she even talked to her manager without is having to say anything to her. The manager then removed the kids meal and veggie side we ordered! Thank you to our waitress for being amazing even though she had an entire day of work ahead of her! Btw all of our food was very good!

We have been going to this location for about a year now and we have never had a bad server, food, or service. Our drinks are always delicious. The only complaint is the hostess, they can come across a little rude at times.

Great place. I’m in town on business and I am glad I found this place. Service was outstanding. When you go in and walk by the tables look up and check out the ceiling fans.
Also had something happen to me I’m not used to. My server asked if I had ever eaten here before of which I said no. At the end of my meal the Manager took the time to stop by the table to welcome me as a first time visitor. That small touch made my experience that much better and encourages me to come again.
Update
Came back for dinner. Got something togo. Most places rush you in and out and don’t give much of a *rap about you. Twice in a row I had awesome service. I will eat here often until I fly home next week

If you go to a restraint in grandview then you deserve the food and service quality you get… Surprised to see this chain here. Won’t be back

I was glad to find the place on the way out of KC. The area doesn’t seem that great. It looks like a lot of businesses closed down. This place is a gem, though. I had the cajun burger, which was great. My son had the chicken tenders which were very good also. Fries and salad get a thumbs up, too.

Good food, good service. I got the lunch special taco platter with chicken, and I noticed they put some type of cream sauce on the chicken. It was good, but I’m wondering if that’s why 2 tacos is 950 calories? Probably so. The beans and rice were pretty good. Overall good value for good food. My tab came out to $ 8.80 (had water).

Well first off I made a rookie mistake of not taking a picture of my dish till there was like 3 bites left… Shame on me.
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by the hostess and was seated quickly, we had 5 people in are group and they were going to put to round tables together for us but it wasn’t needed.
Are waiter was friendly and energetic, and was informative when there were questions asked.
I order the 8 ounce bacon cheeseburger with fried egg and French fries, the burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium and crispy French fries.
Are drinks was always fresh and filled of a nice cold sweet tea which was nice on a 90 degree day.
I say come try it out and decide for yourself.

My husband and I were seated immediately on a Saturday night! Our waiter (Darius) was helpful, friendly, and very charismatic. Our food came out relatively fast. All around great atmosphere and plenty of parking. We’ll definitely come back.

All around good place to eat, foods good and the help is on top of things they keep your drinks top off, I think it’s an all round clean and fun place to eat.

I am a former employee so I know all the in’s and outs of this restaurant. Peak hours are 9pm to close due to the $ 4.99 appetizer specials (with the purchase of any drink $ 2 or more). At this point (on the weekends mostly) this place gets unruly loud. There has also been known to have an occasional fight (there were 3 in the almost two years I worked there).
On weekend nights and around lunch time everyday there will be a slight wait. The hostess will do her/​his best to set everyone in a timely fashion. If you see someone being seated before you and you were there longer it could be because they were less picky about seating or perhaps have a smaller party than yours.
If it’s a full night don’t expect to be greeted the second you sit down. The server has other tables to attend to. Most server do their best to give you the best service they can while others don’t really care. The managers do their best to accommodate any issue although many customers abuse this aspect. Many people complain about tiny things and get free food out of it.
The food is pretty darn great. Waffle fries and Gringo dip are the best. There is a wide variety of food chooses (the menu itself can cover the table). There’s anywhere from taco to pasta, burgers to phillys, towering salads and BBQ ribs.
The drink selection is endless. They have margaritas, beer-​graritas, vodka lemonades, simple jack and cokes on down to a vide variety of shots. All you have to do is ask. If they have the ingredients and the know how the bartenders can make just about anything provided it’s not ridiculously busy (they make the drinks for the whole restaurant not just the bar area). And a fair warning they card if you look under 40, take it as a complement and have your id ready.

This place is pretty solid. I actually prefer it to Applebee’s (based on my first visit). Really friendly staff. Our server had the most genuine smile I’ve seen in a long time. Could it be he likes his job?
I ordered an 8oz mushroom swiss burger, and yeah, it was pretty big and juicy. 6oz would have been more my speed, but who can resist an extra 2oz of meat for just 98cents more??? Not me. This burger was stacked so high with grilled mushrooms I had to try and pre-​flatten it a bit so I could even take a bite. Needless to say it wasn’t a ladylike affair, but it sure hit the spot! Fries were nicely seasoned, but I wasn’t hungry enough to eat too many. I’ll chalk that up to a win.
The menu has a lot to offer. My husband chose a steak sandwich with cheese and pico on it. Looked like a gussied up philly cheese-​steak, tasted better though. He had a really hard time deciding what to eat as several things looked good.
Throughout our meal we kept ooo-​ing and ahh-​ing as servers walked past us with the food other diners had ordered. (Always a perk of sitting near the kitchen!) The chicken fried steak looks like a good candidate for my next visit. And those margaritas the size of fishbowls definitely caught my eye. Guess I’m coming back soon!
