KFC is definitely not a franchise that I frequent. If I go, it’s usually for the grilled chicken. I must admit their original recipe is really original and not the usual flavors of your average fried chicken, but I prefer food that is not fried. I think the weakest item on the menu has to be their biscuits. Sadly, those little things just have no flavor. I went to drive-thru and I tried the new Tex Mex Rice Bowl. This was weird for me because it was a bit on the dry side and also the chicken should be grilled and not fried. There is fried pieces of bite-size chicken pico de gallo, green onions, cheese, and some sort of ranch sauce all on top of a bed of white rice. It wasn’t nasty, but it just doesn’t work. I only paid four dollars and change for the bowl; I opted against the combo that comes with a drink and a cookie. The idea is to appeal to the younger crowd and have healthier options. If you want to be healthy, use grilled chicken and don’t offer a cookie as a side with the combo.

This review is not about food, it’s strictly about service. I went through the drive-through to pick up dinner for myself and a couple of friends. First they told me they were out of extra crispy, so I asked how long the wait would be and was told 5 to 10 minutes. I then was told that they had the new grilled chicken, and went for that. When I got to the window, they told me they were out of both chickens, and couldn’t fill my order but only after having charge my credit card. To their credit they did give me a refund in cash, but had they told me their chicken shortage issue earlier I would not of been sitting in line nor having to have a charge on my credit card only to be refunded in cash. The only positive that I can say is that they did not argue one bit in refunding me my money.

I ordered the fill up box. It had 2 pieces of chicken with potatoes and gravy. A biscuit, a drink and a cookie came with it. I went thru the drive thru. I haven’t had KFC in awhile. Drive thru moved quickly this evening. Food was good.

Just your average American Chicken place. I was craving for some quick chicken and I felt nostalgic going to this place. The breasts were plumped and juicy, good for any any hungry man to lavish, it was probably because of the estrogen pumped Chickens. The seasoning is what you can ask for this establishment. The only thing that’s missing is the rice and special gravy that I used to have in the Philippines.

Yea, 4 stars, get over it. I occasionally love me some Original Recipe KFC.(I’ll ignore the KGC they’ve put on the doors to politically correct the place, c’mon, it’s fried chicked for gawds sake!) Back in the days before we knew it was bad for you KFC was THE chicken place of choice. As I got older, I really grew to like the Original Recipe instead of the Extra Crispy I ate when I was younger, and for some reason, didn’t like the Original. But anyway, KFC stands out and away from other places, Church’s, Chicken Express and others are, in my opinion, basically the same type of fried chicken, not bad, but not KFC. I still love that original recipe(I’m a white meat guy, no bad joke intended) and I love grabbin’ a breast and wing every now and again. Mashed pots and brown gravy is still a fav, along with the potato wedges. Biscuits can still be really good, even though last trip in it looked like they were throwing frozen ones on a cookie sheet to bake… sniff.
