Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

I had some friends in from out of state and we decided to give this place a try on a rainy day, after a long weekend. The food and drinks were excellent! The prices were very reasonable for what you got. And service was good. We all enjoyed Cheddars and o so of definitely go back.

Food was great! Slow service though! We were there 4 hours and that’s just entirely to long to wait to be seated and dine. The waiter was a bit rude but perhaps it was because of the busy Sunday afternoon.

This experience was one of the worst I’ve ever received. For starters the croissants came out cold. It wasn’t hot nor warm and I was very disappointment but it didn’t ruin my time. Me and my guest placed our drink, appetizer and entrée meal at the same time so they wouldn’t waste time. They brought the two order and then informed us that our rack of ribs were not coming out because they ran out. So we went ahead to places another order which was the salmon. That came out pretty fast so we were excited but as soon as we bit into it we noticed the salmon wasn’t cooled throughly. Very disgusting and unacceptable. I’m very disappointed on the service this evening.

I have been craving Cheddars for a while so I was there when the doors opened at 11:00 am Tuesday. Upon entering I immediately noticed how clean it was and they had some pretty table tops, they’re cleaning it up, per the GM. Very nice fellow who stopped by to visit. We sat in bar area and had great service, if I remember correctly our waitress was KaShandra? And of course, the food is always good!

They have several options on their menu. I ate in the bar today and it wasn’t too busy. I ordered a house salad with their awesome rolls. Also ordered a margarita. The bartender was nice, service was fast. Food was good for the price.

This was my first trip to cheddars. The hubs was craving the chicken strips and we were going to catch a later movie so we stopped to grub.
It was busy, but we got seated right away. There were alot of screaming babies that night, not the restaurants fault, but just know some of the mothers that were here were more concerned with guzzling cocktails than feeding their spawn. Which in turn caused me to order one as well. I thought the Maui Margarita could drown out the high pitched fits next to us, and it helped! There’s enough alcohol in that bad boy to help you not give a damn who is screaming (husbands with naggy wives, you’re welcome).
We started with the spinach dip that Carlin suggested, and it was legit. I could have just not shared and shoveled it in between sips. We ended up with a huge mound of chicken strips, fries, and the broccoli-​rice-​cheese casserole. I really liked the BRC casserole! The rice wasn’t mushy, and the broccoli was still firm. I have texture issues, so mushy stuff doesn’t fly. I wasn’t blown away by the chicken strips– even with the Buffalo sause and ranch the hubs suggested I eat with it. They were heavy on the breading in my opinion.
I would come back for sure– just not if there are screeching, tiny, humans all over the place.

This place holds great memories for my family! We have eaten here for years and although the service is horrible 90% of the time, the food is great. It’s the ONLY reason I continue to eat here. Tonight they brought my family members plate out with the broccoli still in the bag they microwaved it in. Absolutely absurd, there are empty glasses at my table slow service. It took us 30 minutes to get an appetizer of chips and salsa. When I found the manager while I was up heading to the bar to get my daughter and I a drink, since ours had been empty for a while. The manager fixed the bag of broccoli fiasco but the waitress couldn’t be fixed. Unfortunate that I didn’t even eat I’m so unhappy. What a waste of money I wanted to spend here. Do not expect service at this location, expect to be ignored and get your own water refills… if you lower your expectation to about drive through McDonald’s level then you won’t be disappointed.

I went on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with my mother, and simply put just horrible service. We were seated and did not get greeted for about 15 minutes. By the time our waiter, Allen, got to our table we were ready to order. I ordered a water, my mother ordered a cup of hot water, and then we ordered the spinach dip appetizer and two of the chicken fried chicken lunch plates.
The food did not take too long and is always good, which is the only reason I’m giving it two stars. But when we recorded our food I was missing my toast with my plate and was told it was still working in the kitchen, needless to say I never received the slice of toast. The next time we heard from our waiter after that was to finally bring me a water refill… along with the check. He never asked my mother for a refill. We even had to ask another waiter for a to go box and even he seemed annoyed with the request. And to top it all off when our waiter came by for the last time to ask how everything had gone, he asked then walked away mid response.
The worst service I’ve ever received, which sucks cause the food is so good. Probably won’t be back to this location.

The food was good, but mine was a little cold by the time we got it. It took a very long time to get it, even thought the restaurant was almost empty. It was a nearly 2 hour Dining experience that should have been a little more timely.
The biggest issue we had was that they were out of many things but our server did not seem to be aware of this. My husband ordered a sandwich and many minutes after we ordered, he told him to order something different. The server than asked if we wanted our food to sit while we waited for his food or bring all the food out at once. My reaction and reply was «why don’t you try to have the kitchen time our food so that’s it all made together and we aren’t eating old food.» And the server said he would talk to the kitchen. I get the feeling that never happened as we waited forever and my meal was a little cool when it arrived.
One of our companions ordered a salad that comes with a croissant. They were really looking forward to that and it never came. Her husband finally requested it and our server just says «it’s because we’re out of them.» Like we were just supposed to know that…
It just seems like there is no communication here and the servers are a little clueless. Having been in restaurants for many, many, many years, I’m a little bothered that a manager was never present or tried to touch our table and make sure we were taken care of after many issues/​mistakes/​miscommunications.
After reading more reviews about this location, I’m not surprised by our experience.
The price was good and the food was alright. I might come back here but part of my requirements for dining out is timely, good service. I’ll only pick to come here when I’m not looking for that and just need a meal.

This cheddars has always done me right. Every time I come for special occasions or if I just feel like eating something well prepared and delicious. This cheddars is always a place I toss if we’re ever hungry.

Went here to pick up a to-​go order food was ready on time :) I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was really good. Service was great albeit I only went to the bar but the bartender was very helpful and waited on me right away

Painkillers, Ribs, Broccoli Cheddar Casserole, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Buttered Corn, 3 Croissants with Honey Butter!!! This would be my last meal!

Our family had dinner here tonight. For drinks my wife and I each had sweet tea, Mom had a bottled Michelob, 6 year old had chocolate milk. Both sweet teas tasted quite watered down — we asked for new ones and they were much better. The server did not bring an empty glass for Mom’s beer so she had to ask for one.
We ordered the kids chicken tender meal with fries and it was great; the grilled chicken salad with candied pecans and it was also good; the new orleans pasta with sausage, chicken and shrimp and it was great; and the crispy chicken salad which was good too though Mom wondered if the chicken should have been served at a warmer temp.
Cheddars is good basic casual dining with no surprises and something for everyone on the menu. This is our neighborhood Cheddars so we go here about once a month and hardly ever have any issues, and when we do they are fixed, though on our last visit one of us ordered the Spasagna dish and the center was still cold and we had to send it back 3 times to get it warmed all the way through!
As far as service it can be hit and miss and can depend on the server — for instance tonight we were helped by a young lady who was gone for long periods of time; it seemed to take a long time for the drinks to come after we ordered. By comparison in the same area we were sitting another server appeared to be working on 3 tables at the same time and he was attentive to all his tables, while our server seemed to take forever between everything. I seem to notice this every time we go here — some servers seem to be on top of their work and taking care of their tables while other servers aren’t as attentive.
The prices are modest and affordable, for instance the ribeye steak is probably the most expensive thing on their menu and it’s priced in the mid-​teens of dollars. We do find it odd that they don’t provide those activity/​coloring sheets and crayons for kiddos (Red Robbin has a great one).
They recently gave the entry a facelift for better disabled access, and the tabletops are new with a type of butcher block material which looks nice but don’t seem very sanitary. Our table had grease and liquid like stains and spots from the last guests. The finish on the tables just seems like it would absorb all kinds of gunk.

Cheddar’s is a solid choice for a late lunch, Sunday afternoon «dinner» after church, or just a random weeknight stop. The menu has a bit of variety and everything is cheap, not to mention the food is pretty tasty. I have never waited longer than 20 minutes, even at the busiest time. Service is usually decent, although I did have a newer server who kind of ignored my table and didn’t realize that he had been negligent. I spoke with the manager and he was receptive to the feedback I offered and was willing to rectify the situation. At the end of the day, that’s what customer service is all about. So will I return to this Cheddar’s? Considering its proximity to my home and my favorite movie theater, that’s a definite yes. I’ll just beware of newbie servers and it will all be good.

I enjoy the food here it’s a good price for the amount of food you get. I have to have their sante fe spinach dip it is sooo good. I always get their fried chicken strips buffalo style, fried shrimp, mash potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, and sometimes ribs. The only complaint I have is the restroom is dirty. There is water all over the floor and one of the toilet handle is broken and probably reason causing the water on the floor. I’ve been a customer for a while and I come here often and it’s still broken.

This is the first time I’ve been to this location and there was not a wait to be seated. Perfect timing, I guess! We had a good size party and our waitress was able to take pretty good care of us. She was on top of the drink orders and got all of our orders right. Its always nice we your food it right the first time. The food was good and as always priced well. Over all good experience.

Clean restaurant with good deals. Service is also good. If you want a good deal on dinner, choose this place

Just came by to order some food to go. I sat at the bar while my food was being prepared. Tierra T (name from the receipt) helped me. She didn’t offer me anything to drink while waiting and she was eating out of a Togo container with her hands while standing behind the bar working.
She didn’t act very helpful and spoke very low that I had to ask her to repeat herself a couple times. It just was not appropriate. There was another female bartender with her, who possibly could have covered while she ate in back.
The atmosphere was simple, nothing special.
This was my first time here, I went to see a movie and stopped by after. Nothing makes we want to return. The part that made the 2 stars was that she did open the container to show me the food and asked if I wanted plastic ware.
Spoke to Bryan, the manager, who seemed attentive.

Came here after the Breast Cancer Walk in Downtown Dallas. Our waitress, Brittany was nice. However, I didn’t like that she had her hair down and not pulled back. This is a big concern with me considering she’s carrying my food. Had me scared to eat. I did PRAY over my food and kept it pushing but who wants to worry about their food throughout their service? Kind of gross.

I love going to Cheddar’s for a cheap and quick bite. Cheddar’s is a sitdown restaurant, where the drinks are very cheap! The margaritas are only $ 4!!! The food is good. I’ve ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which has a spicy buffalo sauce and huge pieces of chicken inside.
The fish tacos are pretty good, but very americanized. They have a slightly spicy chipotle sauce on the tacos with a sweet coleslaw.

It was just a little slow at the door but once I got seated it was good. Rachel was my server and she did her thing. She was nice and speedy with her service of not only my table either. I just ordered the chicken tender appetizer with onion rings. My food was good. (Portion Control it)
