best restaurant I’ve been to in a LONG time, went twice and got the chicken and waffles with sausage gravy, do not finish it unless you want a stomach ache for the rest of the day HUGE portion, just get a box and finish it later. however it tasted FANTASTIC, next time i would go for lunch to get the smaller(i would hope) biscuits and gravy, or something else. 5 out of 5 stars.

I was so excited to go here. Heard such great things. I went for breakfast around 830 Sunday morning. Only a couple of people in there. The atmosphere is really cute! The food I thought was average, it lacked salt and pepper. I had the breakfast burrito, it was ok. The table split a side of brisket hash, I was not a big fan. I thought pieces were a bit burnt and again lacking salt. My son had the chocolate chip pancakes which were heavy and dense. My husband had the meat lovers omlet which lacked salt. By 9 the place was packed! The have a bar so for a Sunday Funday I think this place is awesome but for just straight up breakfast it was average. Prices weren’t bad though. We may ditch the kid, come back again and have some adult Sunday brunch beverages!

So much yum. I had been wanting to come here based on the great reviews, so when my friend suggested it on a Sunday morning I was game. We were able to instantly grab a window table around 10−11am and the waitress came promptly over. I was so tempted to order one of the adult beverages they offered(Irish coffee or tiramisu martini) but I boringly stuck with the iced water. Next time I will for sure! The menu looked amazing, I struggled choosing between the breakfast and lunch options.. I decided on the blueberry stuffed French toast Panini($ 8). Comes with real maple syrup. It was delicious and I would totally order this again. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and biscuits which comes with home fries and coleslaw($ 13). I had a bite of that, and yes it was delicious and I might have to order that next time(sans coleslaw). She loved it. In conclusion, I want to come back as soon as possible. Maybe get that tiramisu martini and the chicken and biscuits, or maybe that pulled pork and corn bread that I saw on the menu. Definitely worth the drive to Gorham!

Alright Maine, you got me. I’ve been hunting for a place that serves up a decent plate of biscuits and gravy, and I think I’ve found it. It’s in Gorham of all places. I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and the place was full but not crowded. We easily got a table by the window and were noticed immediately by out server. They have a pretty decent sized menu and everything from the omelets to the Cuban sounded absolutely to die for. I settled on my fried chicken and biscuits topped with sausage country gravy and served with home fries and slaw($ 13). My friend decided on the blueberry stuffed French toast($ 8). Both were fantastic and to top it all off they have REAL maple syrup! We left stuffed and happy. We both vowed to become regulars or maybe move to Gorham!

Good Ol’ Gorham — The last time I spent any time in this area(outside of takeout) it was in the 1990s. I wish this place was here back then! Street parking can be tough in Gorham, especially during the winter, but if you time it right, you can find parking in the small lot behind the building — BUT you must be able to climb a flight of stairs that is equivalent to almost two flights — straight up. I was meeting a few friends mid morning on a Saturday and as per my normal process, I got there 15 minutes early. I am glad I did, there were already 3 parties of at least 2 or more waiting for tables ahead of me. There isn’t a waiting area, it is just stand right inside the door. It’s a bit awkward for those eating and those waiting… nearly impossible not to make eye contact. One thing I did like is the ability to see what everyone was eating, so I could pre-decide what I wanted :) There were low tables that sat groups of 4 and they pushed tables together to accommodate larger groups. There were a couple of high tables as you walk in to the left. There was bar seating as well. I believe there is room for about 50 people in the restaurant. But once seated it actually doesn’t feel too cramped. The restaurant is well lit, because the front is all windows. I love natural light, especially when dining inside. It was helpful for me to as I was seated before my friends arrived and was able to see them walking up to the restaurant… preparing to smile, wave and welcome them as they walked through the door. The decorations were subtle but with personality. I especially loved the cow painting in the restroom(which is one room-unisex) Be sure to lock the door :) I liked that the entire party didn’t need to be present to get a table — that wins stars automatically from me. The waitperson was super polite and patient and reminded me of the whipped cream option and chocolate drizzle for my hot chocolate. YESPLEASE. The menus were simple, organized and detailed. So many tasty options. I opted for the blueberry pancakes. For me if a place can’t do pancakes… then they can’t do breakfast. BUT, this place CANDO pancakes and they do them very well! Three large plate sized pancakes actually were a challenge for me. I was not able to power through the last pancake. So sad :(if I was going straight home, I could have and would have taken it home. My table mates had more savory items, a waffle breakfast sandwich which was a full waffle folded over eggs and cheese to make it a sandwich. It looked delicious and will definitely have me coming back for breakfast. The veggie hash, looked interesting, but I will probably come back for the meat hash. The staff here were quick and polite and actually smiled at every customer! A HUGE plus for me. I look forward to coming back to try more tasty breakfast items = WAFFLEBREAKFASTSANDWICH! If you are in Maine, I would highly recommend this place. Fresh, tasty and original. YUM.

Look out, Gorham, you’ve got a hot brunch spot in your town! Better get to the Blue Pig early or be comfortable waiting, because people are flocking here on the weekend… as well they should be. The Blue Pig — adjacent to Thatcher’s and offering a parking lot behind the building — boasts of delicious diner food and diner prices with non-diner like adult beverages in a non-diner like setting(the atmosphere here is very cool: it’s hip meets rustic meets cow and pig décor). I came with friends on a Saturday morning at 9:30; we were lucky that one of our trio came early, waited for about twenty minutes, then snagged a table for us, because even at this earlier hour the line to get in was out the door. I settled for bottomless cups of coffee, but was eyeing the Bloody Mary’s(anyone know if these are vegetarian?) and the Irish Coffee options pretty hard. If I hadn’t had a full day of work ahead of me, I definitely would have splurged. For food, I’m a sucker for a good egg sandwich(especially ones where the yolk runs through my fingers) and had never had one on a waffle before… wouldn’t you know, Blue Pig offers such a treat! My two egg and abundant cheese sandwich came on a folded in half waffle that I drowned in maple syrup(REAL maple syrup — these folks know what’s what!) and hot sauce. Which is a FAB combo, FYI. The eggs were cooked a little too much for my personal loving, but I blame that on myself — I should have said something to our(attentive) server. I wasn’t a huge fan of the home fries, either — I found them a little greasy and underwhelming. I’m a hashbrown girl through and through, and would have preferred this if it had been an option. I can see the Blue Pig appealing to my hipstery brunch loving friends as well as my traditionalist diner loving dad. Crazy balance they’ve found, and good for them!

What a wonderful, cute, local establishment. The brunch is delightful to say the least. I have been in twice for lunch both times I had the vegetarian Ruben, it was yum yum yummy! It’s always nice in the summer when you can sit outside.

My family and I finally ventured into the Blue Pig Diner after wanting to since it opened. We went later in the afternoon and didn’t have to wait for a table, but would have waited happily. The big Windows made the entire restaurant bright and cheery and the décor was in the realm of a classy diner feel. It was clean, and tastefully decorated. The coffee was fabulous. My kids were delighted with the chocolate milks, and the bar menu had treats that would have required me to have a full day to sample, and sadly I did not have that luxury. The kids menu was cute and simple and had all the right choices. 2 of the kids had the lollipop pancakes and bacon with orange slices. The presentation was superb! Taste was great! My older son had the corned beef Hash plate. HOLYCOW!!! This was probably the best corned beef I have ever had. The flavor was out of this world, just the right amount of salt and the texture… perfection. It was accompanied by delicious bite-sized potatoes with fluffy, scrambled eggs and big slices of fresh toast. The service was friendly and fast. I honestly wish we could go again this morning.

I had the biscuits and gravy this morning. A cool place with a unique menu. Scratch made biscuits and sausage gravy with 2 eggs and hash browns and coffee. I say YAY. With a full bar to boot. Looking forward to go back for lunch and drinks.

Fantastic! Staff– Amazing, smiling, polite, helpful. Seating area– cozy without being too cramped. Food– blueberry stuffed French toast panini was perfectly cooked and stuffed. Yummy!!! Veggie Omlette was cooked to my husband’s standards and all the changes he wanted were done correctly. Coffee both black and specially made were above most diner standards. And the staff made sure my husband always had coffee in his mug(bonus)! Coming back here as soon as I find myself nearby this little treasure. Can’t wait! PS: I want their decoration they have in the bathroom! I love how they repurposed.

So consistently good. I love this place. Breakfast all day with great lunch options like the pulled pork sandwiches. No lacking in any department from the fries to the staff to the mochas… the blue pig rocks. Yankee Benedict another favorite of mine. And steak salad with blue cheese crumbled for a lighter lunch you really can’t go wrong.

Came here under the recommendation of a friend who described it as a great place for«meat.» He was right. I ordered the Pan Seared Potato cake w/steak &2 eggs, gravy and toast. It was all done very well. The wheat toast is nice and thick and the steak was cooked perfectly. The eggs were a little runny but still very good. My one complaint would be the lack of the fake sugar… I like sweet & low in my coffee. I also thought the coffee in general wasn’t great. Service was good. Waitress was nice and service was pretty quick. I found easy parking out front. My wife had pancakes, they were huge. She ordered 3 and ate maybe 1. Very good… real maple syrup. Check it out worth the trip!

I visited this diner for the first time on a Friday morning with my father for my birthday. There was on-street parking available right in front, but in Gorham that varies based on the time of day. There is seating both inside and outside. To start, we both ordered juice, which came served in a mason jar with a straw. I ordered the House Braised Corned Beef Hash, and my father decided on the Veggie Hash. Both breakfasts came with a two eggs cooked«your way», and two pieces of toast. The food was ready fast, served at the same time, and delicious. Everything was homemade and fresh! My favorite part was the adorable salt shakers shaped like pigs. I look forward to my next breakfast at The Blue Pig Diner.

Specialty coffee drinks are decent but they only give a half mug. The eggs were cooked nicely and tasted good. The pulled pork hash was decent. The majority of flavor came from the bacon not the pork so I’d like to see more flavor from all of the elements. Girlfriend says: Décor too farmhouse«quaint» and Americana knick-knacks make it a bit cheesy. Caramel macchiato was tasty but very small in big mug so felt skimped. Veggie Benedict was okay – peppers overcooked and hollandaise can’t compete with what’s made at places in Portland. Home fries were good but so what? It’s hard to make fries potatoes taste bad anywhere. Doesn’t care to leave Portland for this again.
