This is a very down home Maine diner. Friendly, fast service, good prices, and all of your greasy spoon favorites on the menu. Small and cozy inside, the food wasn’t amazing but it hit the spot.

Our family of four stumbled on this place on our way to run errands… So thankful we did! Food was amazing with HUGE portions and the waitresses were wonderful. Good Biscuits and gravy are hard to come by in the northeast and theirs was out of this world. We will be back!!!

While Westbrook Maine has been slowly becoming an interesting foodie hub alternative to the downtown Portland scene, Guidi’s DIner has nothing to do with this emerging shift. Guidi’s has been a local diner, firmly planted on Main Street in Westbrook for many years and that is exactly why I like it. That, and the food. While the seating area is tight, the grill is large and abundant. There is everything on the menu you would hope for on the breakfast menu, including some fun locally named omelets and specials. Highlights are their home fries(I recommend adding the sauteed onions), HUGE pancakes, the bottomless cup of coffee and the super reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and welcoming to regulars and newcomers alike. Like many breakfast/lunch places in Maine, they are closed by 2pm, just sayin.

I ordered the Reuben omelette, it was EXCELLENT, the cook came out and talked to us, the servers were friendly. My husband ordered the western, he loved how everything in it was cut up into small bite size pieces.

I grew up going to diners all around the state of Maine when my parents were teaching my sister and I about the sixteen counties. I spent my early college years eating eggs benedict at the same diner every weekend after an all-nighter of video games(and, let’s be honest, booze). But since moving to Portland, I haven’t really been into diners… Until Guidi’s, that is. This unassuming little diner in the heart of Westbrook reminds me of every reason why I love the state of Maine: + While the space is small(I think it seats maybe 25ish people) and intimate, I never felt like anyone was eavesdropping on my conversation; difficult to achieve in such a small space! On the opposite hand, I felt like I could have easily struck up a conversation with any of the other diners and it wouldn’t have been weird or out of place. Great balance! + The demographic was all over the place, and everyone seemed as welcome as the next person. The regulars, the newbies, the tourists, an octogenarian with his oxygen tank ordering a massive plate of meat and eggs, two tweens ordering just tea… + The staff. The guy who owns the place seems like a genuine sweetheart, and his mom was just as charming, fun, and thoughtful as they come… I wanted to hug her at the end of my breakfast. + The history and tradition of yesterday easily blended in with the humor and relevancy of today(it does have a 70’s and 80’s vibe… But they had a special called«50 Shades of Gravee»). + The food. Okay, so there really isn’t THAT much for a vegetarian, but… what you DO get is SO much for SO cheap. And it was possibly THEBEST French toast I’ve had in my life. And I don’t even like French toast. But I’ll be thinking of that Mafia French Toast for months to come. Three thick enormous slices of Italian bread, perfectly gooey inside yet appropriately fried and slightly crunchy on the outside. Did I taste some cinnamon, too? I don’t think I’ve ever had French toast this good since my grandmother used to make it for me. The home fries were decent, too! + Oh, and they take card. Why so many diners these days don’t baffles me. So kudos to Guidi’s. The next time I need a slice of Americana, a cure to my hangover, a reminder of my youth, or a place to feel deliciously anonymous… I’ll come to Guidi’s!

It’s a greasy spoon type of place. The waitresses are nice, the food is good and exactly what you order, no frills and nothing fancy. If you want good, cheap breakfast and are in the Westbrook area(so sorry about that, by the way), then this is your place.

Oh dear, sweet Guidi’s. You are my reason for getting up on Saturday mornings. When nothing else seems like it could drag me from my warm bed, and penetrate through the fog of my occasional Friday night hangover, the thought of your pure deliciousness gets my motor moving. You are the perfect greasy spoon breakfast. Our tiny little haven. From your super thick french toast, to your delectable egg dishes(two words: reuben. omelette). From your pancakes, to your latest creation The Heart Burn(fried potatoes tossed with chili, cheese, onions peppers and jalapenos)… you have become our weekend tradition since we moved to Westbrook. The few occasions that we can’t make it in to see you leave a hole in my heart. Your servers Patty and Donna are the perfect duo — always friendly, always quick, always remembering our drink orders before we even sit down. You are the only place we can truly call ourselves regulars and that is because you are the only one for us. See you this weekend…

The definition of Greasy Spoon or Diner is found here. A little small hole in the wall on Main St. in Westbrook but if you like traditional breakfast with great service, this is as good as any. If you are claustrophobic, not so much. This place is tiny and they pack ‘em in but the food here is all cooked to order and will harden your arteries just like you want it to

Best sausage, egg and cheese I’ve ever had! On Italian bread or Texas toast, with tomato or without, this sandwich will blow your mind. Get it on an english muffin if you want. The diner is everything I want in a diner — locals that greet each other by name when they take a seat, a cute and incredibly hospitable waitress that looks like she fell out of the 50’s, and prices you can’t beat with a stick!

On my way to Portland, I stopped for breakfast at Guidi’s Diner, which serves up breakfast daily, 6AM-1PM. I also had an Entertainment coupon for Guidi’s Diner(BOGO up to $ 5 value). The atmosphere inside this hometown diner is very cozy and old school(est. 1976) with counter seating and some table seating along the wall and front window, and one table is partially in front of the restroom door. The menu offerings include eggs, bennies, omelets, sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, and breakfast sides. The prices are reasonable, $ 4-$ 9 and breakfast meals come with fresh brewed New England Coffee. Special breakfasts are also served include the popular Bradleez Plaza(2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, homefries, & coffee), Westerly Winds(Western benedict, grilled onions, green peppers, ham, 2 poached eggs on a grilled English muffin with Hollandaise sauce, served with home fries & coffee), Duck Pond(2 strawberry or blueberrry pancakes, bacon or sausage, and coffee), The Falls(sausage gravy and biscuit, 2 eggs, home fries, and coffee), just to name a few. For the kids, they serve up Mickey Mouse pancakes! I arrived here at high noon and there were a few of the regulars seated at the counter chatting with staff. I sat myself at an empty table and the waitress promptly brought me a menu and offered me a drink. I started out with a glass of ice water as I went over the menu. I informed the waitress I had an Entertainment coupon and was immediately informed that Guidi’s Diner does not accept those coupons with apologies, since they claimed that someone has been playing a prank on the diner. Denied!!! I spotted a couple of the questionable coupons taped above the register. I gave them the benefit of doubt on this one. At least they were kind enough to inform me immediately rather than play tricks like J.J. Pizza back in Derry NH. I was also offered a Sunday paper to read with my breakfast, thank you! Anyways I ordered the Lee Sandwich($ 4.79 plus tax) served with homefries and coffee. The coffee was good, just the right strength. The food came out in under 10 minutes. The Lee Sandwich tasted pretty good, which had sliced tomato, bacon, American cheese served on grilled Italian toast. The grilled home fries were nicely seasoned potatoes, but slightly lukewarm. The grilled onions on top($ 0.69 extra) were sweet, a nice enhancement. I continued to read the thick Maine newspaper(unheard of in my state) as I finished off my coffee. Overall, the breakfast was good and filling and at just under $ 6 with tax, still a good deal! The staff was friendly and I wasn’t rushed. I was offered me more coffee, though I was all good since I already had 3 cups on the way up here. (3.4÷5.0 stars) Oh yes, it’s CASHONLY. Off-street parking in the back
