My friend and I came in on a Friday night, and the place was packed, however, we only waited 5 min to be seated. We ordered: chirashi bowl(sashimi over rice), alaskan roll(salmon and avocado), and«girls night out» roll(spicy tuna on top of albacore roll), 2 sapporos — totaling $ 60 Pros: –friendly and attentive service– our server Jamie was cheerful and helpful –sushi was decent– while it was nothing special, it was still satisfying –food was presented nicely –clean environment– tables were clean– even the bathroom was very clean Cons: –for the price, the sushi quality could have been better –chirashi bowl should have had more rice in it It was pretty average sushi, but we would come in again– we still prefer Sushi Teri over the other Goleta sushi places

I visited Saturday for take out and ordered the Sushi Plate which was listed as $ 15.95. The food was ok. When the bill came I looked surprised and the cashier said something like«are you wondering about the price?» — it was $ 18.31 — and I said yes. «Oh, they’ve gone up.» I said«well that’s not good; it should be changed on the menu.» No response. I have never experienced this before and really feel it is wrong.

Salty and Pricey. It’s a fairly competitive choice given there are so few options for Japanese in Goleta. My gf and I got the tonkatsu lunch bento and the chicken and beef teriyaki lunch bento. The tonkatsu was fairly thin and more crispy than meaty. The teriyaki combo was pretty salty and I needed a lot of rice to counter the sauce. Most surprising was that together, the price was well over $ 45.

This place is very good. Idk why is has 3 stars. I didn’t get any rolls, but people who only order rolls probably don’t like it is my logic based on deduction. Unilocal is always wrong when it comes to sushi places. I ordered the sashimi salad, nice assortment of sashimi: tuna, yellowtail, octopus, salmon, but the dressing is amazing. The only thing that would make it better would be a wider array of fish, but for 16 bucks it’s worth it. Hamachi Kama: on point, ponzu was good. Tea: tastes like green tea

Recently had dinner here with a friend and the service was absolutely terrible. The food was okay, nothing great. Overall, our experience was disappointing and neither of us will be returning.

Weird. This is the second time now where one order out of two is delivered about 15 mins, after my wife has already finished her food. Really weird. I’m not sure of this is typical around here but it’s just really weird.

Sushi Teri is quite the place to go, especially on a Friday night. Sushi Teri is full of good vibes, great food, and nice people. Many families, couples, and singles all show up to the Japanese Restaurant, which makes it ideal for any person. I have been there three separate times, only because I am not a local to Goleta. I am from the Bay Area, and I often come down to Santa Barbara and Goleta in order to visit the University of California, Santa Barbara. It is quite the amazing restaurant to stop at, and I fully recommend this restaurant to any person that is social, friendly, and wanting to have a good time and eat some good food. I usually order the beef teriyaki plate with a side of California Roll. But today, I was feeling a little daring and strayed out of my comfort zone: I ordered the tempura udon soup. The broth was killer, and the tempura wasn’t too over-fried and tasted amazing when dipped into the soup. The only thing I would have to say would be that the soup came with bean sprouts. However, it is not their fault, but mine, because I did not clarify in advance that I didn’t want any bean sprouts. After I finished the soup, I decided I was not done yet. They had already given me the bill, and I had decided that I wanted a scoop of green tea ice cream to finish up a great meal. I asked if they could add the ice cream to the bill, but the fantastic waiter said that«it was totally fine,» and gave the scoop to me on the house. And frankly, that was one of the best tasting scoops of green tea ice cream I’ve had in a long time(and quite the large one as well for $ 2.95)! I recommend this great Japanese restaurant because: — it has a great, young, active atmosphere. — it has amazing service; always quick even on busy Friday nights. — there is great tasting food that always leaves me full when I leave. — the college waiters are always fun to chat with. — they are very consistent in food quality. The only reason that I did not give this place 5 stars is because some of the meat dishes are a bit pricey. However, my experiences here at Sushi Teri have always been above-par and I will continue to eat at this amazing joint!

Casual, large variety and selection of basic Japanese fare for reasonable prices. Large servings. Broiled salmon was frozen and not really fresh. Stir-fry veg with chicken was massive but the veggies were mainly the cheapest possible and the chicken was vague scraps of dark meat… cabbage, a few mushrooms, carrots and 4 small broccoli crowns. Steak was slathered with a vague, oily sauce. Teriyaki was good enough. Edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad were xlnt. The starter salad consists of very dry shredded cabbage with a very poor mainly mayo dressing. Service is positive, energetic, and cheerful but disorganized on a busy saturday night. Very few sushi places in Goleta so this is OK for the area but they’d have a hard time surviving in Santa Barbara.

I am a big fan of Japanese cuisine, and I have tried most Japanese restaurants in town. While this Sushi Teri is not the fanciest, it is a solid place where you can have tasty Japanese food and great great services. Over the past several years, this place is the one that I have been to the most in town, and it rarely failed me. My favorite: Eel bowl, Chirashi bowl, and Hamachi kama.

I like the booth seating indoor and if it’s a beautiful day, you can sit in their patio. Service is very nice and food comes out fast… But when the food comes out, it looks super cheap. I always expect beautiful presentation when it comes to sushi @ a sushi restaurant but the way our dishes came out… You’d think we were eating at an order-over-the-counter joint. Seaweed salad, salmon roe, Godzilla roll, and the hand rolls were plenty good. I didn’t like the sauce they steamed the enoki mushrooms in… a brown sauce with a bitter cheesy aftertaste. The rest of the food was okay… Hated the presentation n the way they sliced the salmon sashimi(looked careless n gross)… Next.

Came here for dinner and ordered sushi but with soy paper. Clearly stated that we wanted soy paper and waitress said that was fine. We also ordered a steak hibachi dinner plate. When our food order came out the sushi was made on regular seaweed paper not soy so we returned it to the sushi bar. They asked if we still wanted the last roll and we figured we’d take it home for someone to dig in, not knowing that they were going to charge us for a roll that they made by mistake ! Then we receive our hibachi plate and received not steak but chicken, how do you screw that up? Those are two very different things. Anyhow, we didn’t want to send that back so we ate it without mentioning it to the waitress. By the time we were done eating our new sushi roll was coming out. Horrible service, they charge you for food that they screw up on and just mix up orders left and right. Needless to say that it wasn’t even busy in there so there’s no excuses for their mixup.

Just ordered the Kitsuni roll. Holy smokes this roll is amazing! The perfect balance of spice and sweet with a tempura style crunch without the grease, and a sauce that blends perfectly! And it has the cream cheese like a Philly roll. I think I may have found a favorite over Itsuki’s Pink Panther roll.

Sushi Teri was quite packed on a Friday night, which is a good sign for skeptics. There is a bar area and quite a bit of tables. Not sure if this is typical or they were busy, but we sat ourselves. Fortunately, there are a lot of servers walking around and a waitress noticed us soon and got us water and gave us a paper to mark the rolls we wanted. We were later able to quickly flag down a server to take our order. We ordered 3 rolls: Philadelphia, spicy crab, and tempura shrimp. I also ordered the hibachi steak, which was listed under Goleta specials. The hibachi steak was great and it deserved 4 stars by itself. Most of meat weren’t fat. The ginger dipping sauce was flavorful but the steak did not really need the sauce to be tasty. The salad that came with the steak looked delicious but it was quite bland. The shredded lettuce also tasted kind of cold and hard. For a restaurant that includes the word«sushi» in its title, you would think they make bomb-ass sushi. The tempura shrimp and the spicy crab rolls tasted okay, as in you can probably get the same quality and taste from the deli section at Albertsons. The rolls were quite small and some of the pieces did not stay well together since they skimped on rice and everything else. The Philadelphia roll tasted like a block of warm cream cheese with very mushy and not fresh avocado. Overall, if we ever come back, we will definitely not order any sushi here. They offer a variety of different dishes in their menu, including Korean food. I think they should take out some of these items on their menu and focus on making their sushi rolls better or take out the word«sushi» from their name.

My favorite sushi place in SB/Goleta. I’ve never had a sushi roll or meal I didn’t like. They have a lot of sushi roll options, some raw, cooked, deep fried, all are delicious. My personal favorites are the Philadelphia roll, broken heart, dragon, and pizza roll. Not into sushi? The hibachi steak, fried rice, and popcorn salmon are my bfs favorites. Sometimes the restaurant gets really busy and since the waiters don’t have designated sections it can get a little hectic so I can see how some may not have had the best experience, but I have never had a problem with service. On the plus side, you can ask any server for whatever you need and they will happily grab it for you.

We came to Sushi Teri for lunch and I ordered tempura udon to share with my daughter and an order of scallop roll for me. The scallop roll was on the small side for $ 6.25, but there were a decent amount of tasty scallops. Very few places make rice with just the right amount of water, most places tend to make the rice too soggy, but here the rice was too hard. The tempura udon was very plain, with only a handful of bean sprouts. The side of tempura was hot and crunchy with moderately thick batter. The udon on the other hand was spoiled. I could taste the fermented sourness in the broth and the noodle. Unless you are getting udon from some place like Marugame Monzo where they make it from scratch, 99.9% of udon from Japanese restaurants are premade packages that you can get from refrigerated section of Asian grocery stores. I suspect the package of noodle was either store at an inappropriate temperature or was expired. This was a huge oversight by the kitchen staff. In all my years of dinning out, I had my share of bad food, but fortunately have never had spoiled food until now. The server was apologetic, but it wasn’t her fault, so I still tipped her for the scallop roll.

Two of us ate here for dinner. Crowded, so hoped it was good, but it failed to meet expectations. The rolls were sloppily put together and the lack of decent knife skills was obvious in both the crafting of the roll itself and the accompanying fish. About a third of the rolls unraveled. The quality of the fish was average. Some of the included vegetables looked overly wilted. The gyoza, while quite lacking in anything approaching authenticity compared to anything I’ve had in Japan, were probably the most successfully prepared dish of the night. That said, they were mediocre at best, and lacked any memorable flavor.

Incredibly overpriced for poorly made sushi with an overloaded amount of veggies in the sushi. Terrible terrible service. I went in there to order two sushi rolls and it took an hour and a half. About 45 minutes to wait for sushi then the remaining time on my bill. I got to the restaurant before it even opened and everyone around me was eating and gone by the time I received my food. The sushi is overpriced, a California roll for 6.80? What?! I will never be back, so upset and disappointed.
