The food and the price is OK here. This place is small and their service is quick and good. I order sashimi every time but I think the sashimi in Edomasa is better than here.

We started with the spicy lobster tail tempura, which was just ok(sort of had a fishy taste to it). Then we ordered the pizza roll, dynamite roll, and banana roll. The pizza roll came highly recommended, but I did not enjoy it. It was very messy and something(I think it was crunchy, over-cooked rice) kept getting stuck all up in my teeth. The dynamite roll was so large that you either had to take multiple bites(impossible because it’ll fall apart) or choke yourself by shoving the entire piece in your mouth at once. The banana roll was definitely the best one we had. Also, part way through our dinner, we were asked to move tables so they could re-arrange and accommodate a party of 6 that was waiting. I have never been asked to move while in the middle of a meal, so I think that was very ballsy of them. We moved, and they tried to make up for it by giving us free miso soup and dessert(strawberries with whipped cream). Overall it was not a good experience and we won’t be back.

Best miso soup ever! Always tastes great, but recommend taking your food to go as the actual restaurant is very cramped.

First off the service was terrible! The chef was picking his teeth, on the phone, didn’t wash his hands from preparing raw food to veggies, and finished it off by serving us dirty tap water This place isn’t even following the Goleta Valley water regimens. I honestly do not get how it got an average of a 4 star rating if I wouldn’t even recommend this place to my dog

Love love love this place. Fresh sushi. Wonderful yellowtail. Definitely will be going back. I believe the owner attends to her customers. Very kind.

Where do I even start… This is the standard for local sushi joint, as far as I’m concerned. The servers and the lady who owns it are always very friendly and make sure to ask if you’re happy with everything. Food is delicious and reasonable priced. Their fish is fresh and they have a good mix of traditional rolls along with a section of combination rolls. I’ve also tried some of their other, non-sushi items and wasn’t disappointed. Great food in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere — can’t ask for much more!

Vhin is awesome. Keeps bringing us awesome special treats prepared just for us. Wait staff and sushi chef knows how I like my rolls and it’s perfect every time. Good group room in the back for birthdays. Keep come back as this is a local secret sushi spot. Shhhhhh. Get the Miso soup it’s on point!

I Found this little place while passing through Goleta on our way home. I wasn’t expecting much, but this place surprised me! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was good! We had a couple rolls, some miso soup and gyoza. The gyoza were a little soft but had good flavor. The rolls were tasty and I left full and satisfied.

Big fan of Goleta sushi! Came here with a few friends on weekday night and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered an assortment of spicy tuna rolls, vegetable rolls, and a dynamite roll. The owner even brought us over a complimentary roll to apologize for the lack of happy hour. She was so sweet. Love this place!

small location, but fresh fish and excellent staff! If the owner is present, she will be sure to stop by the table and talk to you.

Well, looks like this is my new sushi spot considering the huge decline in quality for Ahi and big price hike for Yume. This is like the Hilary Clinton of sushi joint, eventually settling here because the lack of choices. The owner is always friendly, and the portion size is gigantic for a Japanese restaurant. I felt satisfied and it wasn’t too expensive. Husband and I usually share 4 sushi rolls, but the portion was so big here that we can only shared 3 rolls. I am not a fan of the fried rolls at other restaurants because the inside gets overcooked, however, Goleta Sushi House did a good job of lightly fried the roll, so the fish stayed fresh and raw. I also like the huge ikura nigiri. Purists would scoff at the lopsided seafood to rice ratio. It was sloppy, but the portion size made it so satisfying. I feel almost guilty for the Murican excess.

Really nice atmosphere and good rolls. Intimate place with a really friendly owner. In general, I get a roll with tempura shrimp in it and a Philadelphia roll. They also have a decent Saki selection. Not many choices in Old Town Goleta for restaurants, but this is a pretty high quality one.

I was definitely not a fan. I ordered a chicken bento box. The ambiance itself is so underwhelming and the food was underwhelming… Service was underwhelming… Nah.

Goleta sushi house has medium quality food for a price average of $ 10 – 15 lunches/dinners. The rolls are as you expect them and nothing wrong, they even add a little salad on the side. What i must note is this elderly woman who goes by «Mama». She absolutely hooks it up with sake and a bunch of custom sides. I didn’t even know her and she hooked it up. She remembers her customers well and treats us greatly. Cool sushi spot in Goleta for those of you craving Japanese food around the area.

I came here for what was supposed to be a quick lunch with my dad before work, but it wasn’t as expected. They forgot to wipe some parts of our table down, so it was a bit gross. We kept our orders minimal: some sashimi and vegetable rolls, yet they came so slowly. They forgot our two pieces of tuna nigiri. Our sushi rice was warm and unpleasant and the fish didn’t taste fresh. It took 30 minutes after we finished our meal for the check process and I had to cut off early to go to work and my dad stayed by himself and had told me he had waited a while after I left to get his card back. Not impressed.

Food here is hit or miss. The owner is really attentive of everyone there although definitely shows favoritism to some groups more than others. The other servers here are okay, but not really good at what they do. It’s in old town Goleta so it’s a bit out of the way for us, but when we are around, we stop in. We like the environment better than at Something’s Fishy where it’s too dark and the seating is weird. Here, it’s cozy and well lit. Try to sit away form the door because of the draft. The specialty rolls are not as good as the regular rolls. Pizza Roll — scalloped topped roll baked with eel sauce and mayo, really heavy, and strange for a sushi roll, should’ve known better Dynamite Roll — a lot of different fresh fish on the inside with a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce, seemed promising, but the tempura battered outside was a little much as well as the carrot inside Eel Roll — really good, best dish we’ve gotten so far California Roll — also very good Spicy tuna roll — better at other places Udon — okay udon, standard with some veggies Shrimp and Vegetable tempura– pretty good, panko crusted, standard fare at japanese restaraunts The few times I’ve been here, I noticed that they put quite a lot of rice in their rolls and sometimes their rice has an old, hard quality to it. But this last time we were there, we didn’t have that issue at all. They’re improving in terms of food I think.

Tried this as I was in the area and it was alright. The decorations were very cute and the servers were very nice. The parking was painful to find if you aren’t familiar with the area. The service was good, nothing different. To be honest, I appreciate that the menu wasn’t overwhelming with tons of items. Their sushi ideas were creative and have some that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Particularly, I enjoyed the Hollister roll but the cucumber kept breaking up and I wasn’t able to hold my sushi together. I enjoyed this place, but I don’t think I’d come again if I was in the area.
