Came back to the«joint» thinking it would be better… Well! it was even worst this time! New waiting staff, but same shitty attitude. The Thai ladies working at this so called Japanese Sushi Joint are awful. Really bad service as if we were bothering them when asking for napkins and water.

My cousin and I go here a lot, and we love it, it’s our little hangout place, sushi is good, fresh. It’s small and cozy, and waiters are super nice

I’m a big sushi eater & I stumbled upon this place. I tasted most of the special rolls & they were ok to great. Would definitely recommend the 911 roll & the spider roll. Service was one of the best ever. The sashimi & the simpler rolls were mediocre that is why is give the place 4 stars. Would definitely go back again.

This review has been long overdue, for the past 3 years. I have spent countless weekends walking over to this place on a lazy Sunday for lunch. I can’t begin to describe the amazing feeling of sitting atop one of the bar tables near the sushi chefs, watching them make your sushi, just the way you like it, with the right amount of crab/tuna and rice. I would order multiple sushi combinations and the chef would subtract the rice so that there’s enough room in me to finish up the different varieties. Very friendly staff that makes you feel welcome, even if you enter during closing hours. I no longer live in Glendale, but one of these days I am going to drive up there just to eat the sushi here, among other awesome places in Glendale.

My first time here and the lunch was really good, actually better than many places. The lunch plate included sushi, sashimi, and tuna rolls for about 13.95. It also came with a salad and miso soup. The fish was fresh and tasty; quite filling, and the albacore was especially good. The service was friendly and efficient. I have nothing to complain about and I’ll definitely come back.

Like this sushi place very much. The prices are reasonable and there is a large selection of sushi. The service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

The Uni was horrible. Stick with the rolls, and you will be fine. Not a great place, but it’s OK if you don’t order regular sushi.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend and meet up to have dinner. I’d a cool funky sushi spot. They had great specials for certain days. Also good happy hour deals. The sushi tasted fresh and the rolls had great combinations. Our servers were friendly and attentive and the place was clean.

Like some of the reviews, my husband and I also had diarrhea several hours after eating here. It’s probably not a coincidence if multiple reviewers on separate occasions had some instance of the food not sitting well in your intestinal tract. I would not recommend it.

I’m writing this review from the toilet, approximately 2 hours after dining at Sushi Joint. Don’t be me. I’ve been coming to Sushi Joint for around three years for sushi that was reasonable both in price and quality. Happy hour was the cherry on top. I noticed the quality had gone down with my last few experiences but I didn’t learn my lesson until tonight. Another reviewer mentioned food poisoning but this is something else. Shady sushi spots make common practice of substituting a fish called Escolar for Tuna. This is a cheap alternative that causes explosive diarrhea for some — look up the side effects for yourself. The governments of Japan and Italy have banned it in their countries but it’s all good here in the US. I know the effects from escolar first hand from other cheap sushi restaurants and without getting into details, this fits the bill. Don’t skimp when it comes to sushi. It’s all fun and games ’till you squirt. Very disappointed in Sushi Joint. I’m a long time patron that will never go back.

Food Poisoning! I have been meaning to update my review for 2 weeks now. My fiancé and I were regulars at sushi joint I’m talking 2 – 3 times a week for some reason we didn’t eat here for 2 month what we noticed is that menu prices had gone and and the quality and gone way down. I thought it was strange that the place was empty during joint hour since there use to normally be a wait but then I tasted the fish and it just didn’t taste fresh then 2 hours after we had left we both had a very bad stomach pain and lets just say things weren’t pretty. It took us both about a week to get back to normal. What happened to you sushi joint? Why raise the prices and drop quality???

Best sushi EVER! Found out about Sushi Joint on Unilocal and never even noticed the location! It’s a little hole in the wall on San Fernando but don’t let looks deceive you… The sushi is always so fresh and delicious and they have the best happy hour ever. Get the 911 roll, crunch roll, and sexy chika. You won’t regret it. There’s so many other good rolls there but these are my favorite. Also the chefs are awesome!!! M boyfriend and I tipped one guy and he gave us free spivey tuna rice cakes!!! So sweet! I LOVEYOUSUSHIJOINT I WILLBEBACKSOON!!!

The sushi was fresh. like melt in your mouth fresh. Sunset was super tasty, fresh and light. I also tried the unagi bowl, sashimi boat, miso soup, and the rainbow roll. Highly recommend the sunset roll… and that’s all I can recommend. It was pretty bomb. Four stars for not having many choices like a traditional sushi bar, smelling too fishy inside, and the price. It’s a bit expensive even during the happy hour. I’d probably have to check out other places around the area, to judge whether or not I’d come back. But if I did come back it would just be for their specialty rolls.

I want to give this a 1 star review so nobody goes and I can have the place to myself. LOL This is MYFAVORITESUSHIRESTAURANT! Not only is the food great, the prices are great too. If you get to Happy Hour you’re golden! If not — you’re still golden because every roll is worth the price. My favorite is the Midnight Fernando and Glendy roll. It’s amazing that this so ‘out of the way’ sushi ‘joint’ can have such great food. But it does. So don’t come — I need a seat.

Sushi Joint is great, one of the better Sushi spots in the Glendale/Burbank area. I don’t like the wait though; sometimes it does get busy. The food is great, I’m never disappointed with the food especially. The service is always great, they’re always asking you if the food is okay and walking by to see if your drink needs a top up. I appreciate this spot, just wish it was a little bigger. Grade A!

Listen venturing off to to uncharted territories for sushi is not always a good idea. Especially when you have your long time«go to» and trusted spots after trail and error. But since I work in Glendale and one of the vendors that I buy from is a block away, I tried this place out. It was a hot day, perfect for a nice iced green tea and a few fresh rolls but didn’t have enough time to trek to Studio City Katsu-ya to get my fix. So I checked Unilocal reviews and this place looked like a diamond in the rough. From outside it almost always looks dead inside, tinted windows and no one outside. But it was lunch time and I soon as I walked in I barely could find a seat at the sushi bar. Seemed like many locals were here trying to get quick lunches in before heading back to the office. Started off with the Sunrise Roll and it was a hit out of the park. It was a hit day and their iced green tea really hit the spot! At that point I knew their fish is fresh and was open to ordering more stuff off the menu. I ordered an Albacore sashimi with crispy onion and ponzu sauce, it was a custom order because that’s what I usually get at Katsu-ya and it was great. The albacore was very fresh and flavorful with a good texture. I followed up with the Sexy Gal roll which was also really good. By then I was ready to pop. the rolls and portions are bigger than I’m used to. Parking has never been a problem for me because the shopping center has parking and half the other stores are pretty much out of business. Service was an A. I got my drink filled quickly and multiple times. I saw at the sushi bar and all the chefs were quick and helpful. Bill came and left quick too. They pretty much scan everyone’s table on every pass. So if you’re in Glendale and want some quick, fresh, fast sushi this is the place to go!

I came here yesterday after an intense hike at the Hollywood Sign. My boyfriend was in the mood for some ayce sushi, but we settled for this for their happy hour menu. LOCATION: Random place in Glendale. I could be mistaken since I am not familiar with the place whatsoever. They do have a parking lot in front of the lot, which was not filled up when I got there. AMBIANCE: Nothing special. Lots of seating. Not an authentic Japanese sushi joint. All of the chefs and servers were Chinese(which I do not have a problem with btw). What annoyed me the most was that they placed horrible and really loud EDM music at the restaurant. It seriously felt like we were in a race to finish our meal. The music was horrendous. FOOD: Decent. What you would expect a fusion sushi place — overly sauced, too much rice, but good quality of fish. Happy hour goes from 4 – 7 every day. They have an array of rolls — from crunchy, to spicy tuna, and even their own rolls such as sunrise, abby delight, glendale roll, etc. We started off with the hand roll spicy tunas($ 3) which were the best of the meal. Lots of fresh tuna, not too spicy, but the seaweed was flimsy and not as crisp as I’d like. 3.5÷5 Then we ordered a few of the rolls — sunrise: a pretty roll with lots of fresh fish. Too much sauce for my liking but overall a decently executed roll 3⁄5 — crunchy shrimp: the batter of the tempura was too much and the shrimp to rice ratio was ridiculous. I had to take out some of the rice in order to even taste the shrimp. Due to my prior sunrise roll, I asked for less sauce and they were nice enough to do so. 3⁄5 — abby delight: Honestly, I don’t know what the hell this roll is… but I do not recommend it. The whole roll is fried and the fish tasted weird. The least favorite of the night 1⁄5 All beers are $ 2 off. So if you order a large it’s only $ 5! So drink prices can’t be beat.

If you want good sushi, but you want to go somewhere very casual and quick, then this is the place for you. It is located in a small shopping mall on San Fernando Rd. I came here Saturday with a friend the place was pretty small and not overly packed. We ordered our rolls and got them within maybe 7 minutes of putting in our order. The rolls were very good. The price is a little steep compared to how casual the ambiance is, but I thought it was well worth it. My only problem was the service. After the waitress took our order she never came back to check up on us or ask if we needed anything. I placed an order for a miso soup and didn’t get it for a while and had to follow back up again. Only other time we saw her was when she came over to bring us the bill. But overall good place for a quick bite to eat.

A good option if you are looking for sushi rolls with sauces, avocado, etc. You will not find the traditional nigiris here. Their happy hour menu is pretty decent: 4 to 7pm everyday! — $ 2 off on large beer, $ 1 off on small beer — sushi rolls are about $ 6 – 8 each — hand rolls and cut rolls are around $ 3 – 4 Not Japanese owned … so don’t expect authenticity. Come for their HH for a good deal :)
