FIRSTREVIEWOF2016… ANDIT’S NOT A GOODONE!!! The only thing worse than having to see Dr. Cesar Caldera, would probably having yourself set on fire. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMENORYOURMONEYONTHIS A**HOLE! I am making his Unilocal review, because i’m the Unilocaler in the family, not my wife. This place specializes in cosmetic surgery, so things like a biopsy, and general gynecological services are things that probably don’t make them a lot of money, so they don’t really give 2 shits about you if that’s what you’re there for. We have Blue Shield HMO, which Dr. Caldera apparently doesn’t think much of, and his incompetent office staff couldn’t figure out that we were not supposed to pay anything out of pocket for my wife’s annual gynecology exam. Dr. Caldera minimized the importance of my wife’s biopsy, and talked DOWN to her for most of her consultation. We aren’t supposed to pay anything, in fact for an in-network self-referred specialist, yet the business manager, Jeanette, RUDELY told my wife to do her own legwork to prove what our medical insurance would cover, instead of them assisting and calling the insurance company themselves — -which is what most offices would do. They LIE at the front desk saying the Doctor is with someone, when he is just sitting in his office. They say that the business manager is on a business call, when you can actually hear her in the next room, on what is obviously a PERSONAL phone call! «We’re very busy…» is what the business managager Jeanette told my wife, when my wife called to verify if she received a fax from Blue Shield – «no we didn’t get it…» and pretty much hung up on my wife. It angers me to no end, how he treated my wife. It angers me that there are lowlife p.o.s. individuals out there who call themselves doctors, that have forgotten that they are there to HELP people — but in this guy’s case, he just wants to make a buck and if you can’t do that for him, you’re just not that important! Dr. Caldera was referred to me by my primary physician when I asked for his help in finding an OB/GYN when I found out I was pregnant! My primary physician told me he delivered his son and his wife had a great experience with him. The first day I met Dr. Caldera he made me feel very comfortable so I chose to go with him to deliver my baby(didn’t feel the need to look further). My prenatal visits were great because he’s very direct and only does what is good for you and your baby. He’s very informative when asking questions as well. When I was 8 months along I had a little incident where I had to call in after hours and he was paged to call me. Dr. Caldera called me back within 15 minutes which reassured me more for when labor came. Now fast forward to the day I went into labor… I’m the type of person that needs to be reassured A LOT so when I was at the hospital I asked each and every nurse I dealt with about Dr. Caldera and each one had only good things to say about him. I had to have a C-Section and one of the nurses said«if you’re going to have to have a C-Section then this is the best doctor you can have to do it and I wouldn’t say that about any doctor». I’m glad to say everything went great, I have a beautiful and healthy baby boy now and my scar has healed great :). All of my postnatal visits have been great as well. :). I would definitely recommend Dr Caldera to all of my friends and hope that he can deliver my future babies, if I decide to have any.

I saw Dr. Caldera for the first time in January 2012. The visit went fine, it was my first experience with a male obgyn and he made me feel very comfortable with the whole situation. When the visit was done he wrote me a prescription for a new birth control and said he wanted me to come in again in 6 months for a follow up. I thought it made sense at the time since I was a new patient and it was a new birth control. I made my appointment for July and went on my way Cut to one month later when my pharmacy called to tell me my prescription wasn’t for 12 months like it should have been it was only for 1 month. I called the office and asked them to extend the prescription, the girl who answered the phone gave me a ridiculously hard time and then explained that Dr. Caldera never writes his prescriptions for 12 months only 6 months at the most and he requires all patients to come in every 6 months. This sounded a little odd to me until I realized his office is being sneaky and committing possible insurance fraud by forcing all patients to come in every 6 months so they can bill an extra visit every year. I get a voicemail on 7⁄11 at 4:28 the day before my scheduled follow up informing me Dr. Caldera doesn’t see patients on Thursdays any more and I need to reschedule. This is a big problem for me. My work has time off blacked out from 7÷15−10÷31 because this is our busy season. I called them the next morning because I didn’t get the VM until I got off work, and of course they are close at 4:30. I call the next morning and when the lady is rescheduling my appointment I asked how long the Doctor had not been seeing patients on Thursdays she laughed and said last year. I asked why they would have scheduled my appointment on a Thursday when they knew the Dr. wasn’t seeing patients on that day. She laughed at me again and told me he changes his schedule all the time so they schedule appointment whenever and if the patient has to be rescheduled that is just the way it is. She had no explination(or apology) for the fact that they waited until the day before my appointment to call me. I was able to reschedule for Monday afternoon at 4(my boss wasn’t happy but what can I do?) I left work at 3 today and I work about 30 miles from the office. There was an overturned truck on the freeway and due to traffic I was late to the appointment. I called ahead to let them know and the lady who answered the phone said«Its already 3:30 your appointment is at 4 how long will it take you?» I explained I didn’t know there was a bad accident but I was trying to get there as soon as possible. She told me I could be 15 minutes late and hung up on me!!! I walked into the office at 4:16. They told me the doctor had left because he was tired of waiting for me. The office lady then proceeded to lecture me like I was a naughty child who needed to be taught a lesson. I could hear the doctor in the back of the office, but when I pushed her on this she admitted he was still there, but refused to see me since I was late and he had things to do. When she told me I was inconsiderate for being late, I asked wasn’t the doctor and their office inconsiderate for waiting until the last minute to inform me that my original appt. had been cancelled when they knew months in advance? She had no response but was completely unapologetic, she keep turning the conversation back to the fact that this was my fault for being irresponsible and late and then told me if I couldn’t come in tomorrow I could call them later to reschedule. She then handed me a card, and they made me pay to park still!!! This is the worst doctors office I have ever had the misfortune to go to. You better believe I have already changed doctors and lodged a complaint with my insurance company about the possible fraud. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYSEEINGTHISDOCTOR!!!

Had the misfortune of being treated by Dr. Caldera only because he happened to be the attending gynecologist at the ER I went to. It was determined I had an ovarian dermoid cyst that had to be operated on immediately. While the surgery seemed to go smoothly I was abruptly released by the doctor without any follow up instructions or notification on what to expect. When calling the office the following day, he was extremely rude on the phone, offered no information and acted like I was ruining his day. I was so upset and in so much pain I hung up, my boyfriend had to physically go to his office to get answers and also pain medication prescription for me. While my bf got answers he was also treated very rudely and I refused to even see him for a followup appointment. Unless you like being treated like crap when your in pain and needing medical attention, I suggest finding any other Dr. than Dr. Caldera.
