Just got done stuffing $ 40 of fish in my face. First time visit. I am a Sakura Bana guy — but wanted to give this a try while Alex got the Suburban seaworthy for a long drive at the Exxon station. I got a 8 – 10 pieces of sashimi, veg tempura and miso. Miso was big and good. Tempura app — also a LOT and great. Main event was very good too. It is not Sakura — but I was very pleasantly surprised. Fish was fresh and pieces were BIG for regular way sashimi. Had 300ml of G sake with it I picked up at liquor store up the street. You can get out of much cheaper — had a good lunch menu and rolls but I wanted to see what was up with the sashimi — and it passed. Apparently another place in town as well but locals all pointed me here. Service great at lunch. I’ll be back in 3000 miles when I have to take car back to Alex for next checkup.

Great little sushi place in the heart of Glen Rock. I was pleasantly surprised when we moved to this town that they had a good local sushi place. They do tend to get pretty busy so be prepared to wait but the fish is fresh and the service is pretty good just no frills.

Small place; hurried staff; OK rolls. They seem to accommodate families with young kids, which is sweet. After being seated on a Saturday evening around 6 p.m., we had to wait, and wait, and wait: through people walking in from the train and placing their orders, through incorrect pick-ups, etc. Not worth it in the future.

Love this sushi place — they are always friendly and the food is always fresh. It is great for eating in or taking out. A local, family run run business.

Was not happy with the sushi here. It had too way too much rice and sauce. The rice had a odd consistency that bloated me and my family members up after only a few pieces. The seaweed salad was tasty. The service was good with a very friendly waitress. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here for sushi.

Great place. The food is consistent which is something you cant say about every place. Many places are good this place is always great. I plan to order something in ten minutes.

This place is amazing! One of our go to spots for take out or dine-in sushi in the area. It’s a cute small restaurant in downtown Glen Rock, ample parking. The fish used is always so fresh(buttery soft and no fishy smell — as it should be). In fact it’s so fresh that I don’t even use soy sauce to dunk my rolls and sushi into(unlike some other places where you need soy sauce to make the taste bearable). Every item is also beautifully presented. To top things off, the staff is so pleasant and welcoming and the orders are on point, no mistakes ever. Definitely try this place if you are in the area!

The best sushi around from the nicest people. The whole staff is very pleasant and the food is spectacular. The atmosphere is charming with calming music playing in the background while you enjoy some of the best sushi around. You have to go here!

Had some take out from rock Fuji not too long ago. Their food is always consistent but they do not stray too outside the box. I always order the spicey tuna tartar app which is very good. I am more of a sushi/sashimi guy than rolls. This place main focus seems to be rolls. The last two times I have ordered I have asked for uni sushi and they tell me they don’t have any. I asked for scallop sashimi, same response. Striped bass and fluke too. Why put these on the menu if you don’t ever have it?! The sushi/sashimi offerings are always the same(tuna, salmon, red snapper blah blah blah). They are convenient for me and nice enough people running the place. I just would like a little more from them in order to get me to go back more often.

Outstanding!!! Get the Fantastic Roll. Crab salad, with 3 sauces and spicy goodness… We also got the Yankee roll which my boyfriend loved and the special Spicy Panther Roll with cherry hots… Hands down… Best sushi I have had! And the liquor store delivered wine to us there…

This is our favorite Japanese restaurant and eat here at least once a week. If my kids had their way we would eat here every single day! They use quality ingredients with very reasonable prices. Our favorite is the Nabeyaki Udon soup. The people running the place are very friendly and kind. We prefer this place over any other Japanese restaurant in Ridgewood.

Consistently good sushi here & reasonable prices. Not crowded or noisy — very small and intimate. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating — they will remember you. They do a brisk take-out business as well as dine-ins. Most of the Special Rolls(referred to by another reviewer as «gimmicky» –puzzled by that comment) are delicious. If the fish is good and well-prepared, who cares if the place is «authentic» or not. Hey — the food business has its trends, and fancy rolls are part of that. This is my first choice for sushi for the fish and for the comfort level of the place — if that weren’t so, I wouldn’t go there frequently. BTW — yes — the Fantastic Roll — one of the fancy ones — was fantastic. But the, so was all of the fish on the Sashimi Deluxe platter. Go there — eat!

I was expecting a little more out of this place. It’s very tiny and doesn’t have the best appearance when you walk in. Sushi was not that great, but not terrible. I definitely have had better, and although the rolls were larger and plentiful, the prices are comparable to what I have paid for better sushi in a nicer restaurant.

The Spicy Tuna Sandwich was interesting. It had more fish and less rice and was really tasty. I tasted the philly roll and it was really good too. It was a nice sized roll with a good amount of fish. The salmon was very fresh.

Great sushi, very fresh. The rolls were delicious, and the fact that they offer rolls wrapped in avocado or cucumber with no rice made my day! A great find that we will be definitely going back to.

2 ½ Stars Owner a Bit Odd, But Nice Korean Not Japanese Rock Fuji Japanese Sushi is another in a long list of pretend Japanese sushi joints. The fish is good and fresh the service is awkward in this corner storefront. I can tell when all these goofy & gimmicky rolls are on the menu that this place is not authentic. The highlight here for me was the chiriashi, well portioned with a great selection of fish. If I was on Rock Road and wanted sushi I would go here, Tani cant shine this guys shoes. Alright in a pinch

Great, always fresh sushi and a reasonable lunch special. Chefs and wait staff are all super friendly. Try the spicy tuna roll(better than almost any I’ve ever had, because it’s actually spicy!) and the crunchy, spicy spider roll. Both are FANTASTIC. Tip — go for lunch, and substitute the California roll for a spicy tuna. Costs between 50 cents and a dollar, but is well worth and and still a great deal. Too bad I’ve moved away from Rock Fuji and can only go every once in a while!
