Awesome hamburgers and very delicious one of a kind onion rings highly recommend this place!!!

Had to come back and update my review of The Habit. The first time I came in my burger was soggy and fell apart. This time, my burger was perfect! The service was friendly and helpful as well. They even checked our order before I took it to my table and noticed that they left the avocado off my moms lettuce wrapped burger. They quickly took it back and fixed it. My mom commented that they wrapped it very well and it was easy to eat. We will definitely be back!

I love the mushroom burger in sourdough bread. They used to offer tempura-​battered jalapeño slices as a side order, but it was only seasonal.
Great service, clean place, friendly manager (lady). They custmize any order to our taste, it’s worth my time, money, and calories!

Best burger period! great fries and onion rings too! Always friendly service. But I’m really sad that they no longer have the little hot peppers anymore. If they still had the peppers it would be 5 stars

They do have the best burgers and chicken sandwiches. Very flavorful! They have a strawberry limeaid that is awesome!
I went the other day and wasn’t at all happy about it. I got a mushroom burger and had extra mushrooms, which I had to pay $ 1 extra for. I told them at the register. When he called out my order I told him to make sure if has extra mushrooms, he goes, «yea they get a printout». When my order was ready I asked the girl if they made sure to put extra mushrooms, she said yes. I went to my table and opened it and went back to show her saying, «This is extra mushrooms?» She goes «Oh» and gives me a side of mushrooms.
The tuna burger is pretty blah.

Been here once! we went this past weekend on the way home from Monterey. It was Saturday afternoon, quiet, no lines, or craziness. Parking was right in front. My husband and daughter wanted Pieology pizza next door, so I googled the Habit and placed my order online. It was confirmed right away and ready in 10 minutes.
I went to get my food and it was hot and ready. I ordered the Santa Fe double cheeseburger with guacamole on grilled sourdough bread… Oh my god I was in heaven, and my husband took a bite and loved it as well. The fries, not so good. But I will be back to try something else next time!

Me and my boyfriend come here at least once a month. It is very good I usually get the char burger and my boyfriend gets the tri tip or the Santa Barbra burger. So far I’ve loved all three of them. The service is very quick and the workers are very attentive. I also love the strawberry cucumber juice they serve its delicious!

It is hard to find a juicy, flavorful burger nowadays. After eating at The Habit the search is still on.
I was expecting a lot more than I got, I guess because I have heard people say how good they are plus the chain is growing. Maybe just because I am always in search of good food.
Maybe it was the location, but my wife and I could barely finish. The food was not good.
The burger was dry and smashed, like someone leaned on it with their hand before they served it. The fries were pretty typical of most fast food places. I like a thinner cut with a little crisp going on.
I will probably try them again someday in a different location, hopefully with a better outcome.

The Habit, I’ve heard so many good things about it. «You should try it, its delicious, better than in n out. So when they opened one close to my town I had to go and try it. So the first time I went I tried the charburger with fries and a drink. The place is nice and clean lets get that out of the way first. For the drink I got the strawberry lemonade which was pretty good. Nice and refreshing.
I took my order to go since I was feeling under the weather that day. When I got home and opened the wrapper of the burger I was like mmmmmm looks good. Cheese all over the place, looked juice and the vegetables looked fresh. When I took the fist bite to be honest I was disappointed. I felt like I was eating a mix of a whooper and a regular burger from McDonald’s. Nothing special here. The fries were all right, they were close to the taste of burger king’s. I was really disappointed on the habits burger. The only think that I like was the price, it is cheap for the meal.
So since everybody that I know has this place as so good. I recently went again to give it another try. This time I ordered the jalapeño tempura burger with bacon and instead of fries I got the onions rings. I’m happy to say this time I liked the burger. In fact I thought it was damm good that I’m gonna keep on going just for that burger. In conclusion for the price its a good place to go, but don’t expect nothing out of this world that’s for sure.

Great n very few places to have veggie burger, service is quick n presentation is nice. Burger is considerably of a bigger size, I can’t eat one

Decent Burger for fast on the go lunch.
Had the Santa Barbara style burger. Good patty, fresh ingredients. Crispy bread.
Onion Rings were crunchy, maybe too crunchy. who knows.
The fountain drinks tasted like they were fresh from a fountain… dispenser.
(The teas not so much)
I like the fresh chili pepper bar and the ketchup dispenser.
While I was eating the line got really long, I guess people come in waves.
The place is clean, nothing really wrong here.
Just enough to warrant a return which is all I can ask for.
I still have to try other items on the menu.

Good, clean fun and spacious atmosphere. Friendly staff that never got annoyed with my constant questions. Love that they added a new burger spot in Gilroy besides In n out, jack in the box and the plain old Mcdonalds etc. Who knows maybe we’ll see a Sliders here soon?!! ;)

I’m only giving this place 3 stars vs 2 stars because my boys enjoyed their food.
Let’s start with the positives. The burgers are decent sized. The onions are grilled and nicely caramelized. Drinks are refillable. Seating is plentiful and I liked that there’s different types of seating.
Instead of calling them cons, I’ll call them the «not so positives»… the tea isn’t tasty. Employees got snappy in front of customers. Onion rings were burnt/​overcooked. The ranch dressing is extremely runny and gets all over the place except on your food. The place had unbussed tables the whole time we were there and food on the floor. It felt dirty, sorta like we walked in right after a frat party.
The cashier I think was named Mayra but I’m not 100% sure. She was very helpful in answering my boyfriend’s questions. Very friendly to me too.
We might be back because my boys enjoyed their burgers but I’m not impressed.

Can count on a consistently well made burger! No fancy fare, but the tempura green beans are awesome!!! Come and see for yourself!

It’s a hit or miss here. Sometimes the line is super long, and others, there is no line. Food is yummy, malts are delicious. Be fat, eat here!
Parking: there are a lot of shops around, so you may not get a spot right in front, but you’ll get a spot.

Ordered a Caesar salad with tri-​tip to go —
1. the meat had no flavor
2. the lettuce was soggy
3. there was a short hair right on top of my dinner!!!
My hair is super long and was in a ponytail. No possible way it could be mine.
Check your food.

One thing this guy (me) enjoys every so often is a good burger. At the recommendation of several VIPs, I decided to try it; excellent choice. The burgers are charbroiled. Did it taste charbroiled? Honestly I can’t say I could tell but that’s not a bad thing. The patties are juicy, loaded with toppings including grilled onions. I selected the bbq bacon burger. Slathered with bbq sauce and crispy bacon = burger nirvana.
Sampled the fries n onion rings, both of which I was pleased with. The onion rings are some of the better ones I’ve tasted in quite some time. The fried green beans are no joke either.
Next time I’m in Gilroy craving a burger, In n Out can take a backseat or even take a spot in the trunk because The Habit may become a habit when I need my burger fix

Food is great. However $ 8 for a hamburger meal is a lot not to come with cheese free of charge.
you order supplies in bulk it’s literally pennies for a piece of cheese and you want to charge extra for it?

Would have been way better if my stomach didn’t hurt after… but it was mighty tasty! Even my fries! Got a chuckle out of the frozen fry tucked in my bed of fries! Décor is very nice too…
I probably won’t go back though, I’ll be too scared. My friend thought maybe it was the avocado I got that hurt my stomach, since we go the same burger minus the avocado for her

So I’d been to a Habit Burger in so cal probably four or five years ago and the only thing that I remember about it was that it was unmemorable. This time was different.
My wife and I were going to go to Chipotle for lunch but when we got out of the car we smelled the char of sweet burger grilling coming from Habit three doors down, so we decided to try this new spot for the first time. My wife is not one to ever crave burgers, but she said it smelled so good we should give it a try. I’m glad we did.
She got the Santa Barbara and I got the single char, and we split fries and onion rings. These onion rings were awesome, and cheap! Other than yard house in San Jose, this may be the only good onion rings in a half hour radius of Gilroy, seriously.
Both burgers were great and we were stuffed when we left, and neither of us could even finish our food!
We were very impressed with the speed of the service, as well as the quality and price. We spent $ 16 on lunch and we know next time we don’t even need to buy as much as we did today.
Looking forward to going again soon.
Their ranch dressing was really good also. Which for me is a make-​or-​break at some places… No joke.
