great food, great chef’s, fun experience except for the waitress/hostess. She doesn’t seem to like people. I think she may be a relative or one of the owners because nobody would get away with that kind of attitude and not get fired

Eat here! Eat here! Great service. Fun and consistent. Everytime i’m here, some salty Californian RBF tries to complain. Asuming theyre from CA or justa local pretentious snob. The kind of people whos noses are so high they would drown in a rain storm. Boohaww my shrimp was undercooked.(BTW) FRESHCOOKEDSHRIMP tastes different. My drink was weak. Lol lush Booohullsh. The staff tries to handle it the best they can. Ignoring you whiny ass bitches. Food isn’t free. If you don’t like it, don’t go back. These women work hard for minimum wage and half ass tips from rich highfallutin narcissists. Seeing them ignore you is joy. Purr joy. I come here for the food and entertainment.

Terribly over priced for the quality of food! Save your money and take the trip to Mandolin in Tacoma.

Wife & I went to Misu’s in Gig Harbor for our wedding anniversary. We’ve been there before, but it’s been a while. We were surprised how the portion size had decreased so much! I ordered scallops & shrimp & got 4 scallops &7 shrimp?! My wife ordered chicken & shrimp & got a medium size cutup chicken breast &7 shrimp. We each paid the $ 3.00 upcharge for the fried rice($ 6.00 total) and each received a very small portion size. We also received a very small portion size of mixed vegetables. We paid almost $ 68.00 for a meal, and eventhough the food was good,(except soup(like dirty water) & salad(plain iceburg lettuce) were disappointing) we felt like we didn’t get a very good value; especially, with the portion sizes being so small. We’ve been there in the distant past & portion sizes have been larger?! The one reason we went to Misu’s was for the Yum Yum sauce. We like to «float» everything in Yum Yum sauce! However, we discovered that Walmart sells Terry Ho’s Yum Yum sauce for $ 3.92 for a 16 oz bottle! Now it’s much cheaper to get our scallops at Costco, shrimp from Fred Meyer(on sale), and Yum Yum sauce at Walmart! My wife makes an excellent fried rice & we can float everything in Yum Yum sauce at home. As for the entertainment at Mizu’s: once you see the«show» it’s really all the same with little dfference between chefs! If you’re looking for«value,» don’t go to Misu’s in Gig Harbor!!!

I would really like to give this place –5 stars. DONTEATHERE. The Asian server with short hair was a total see you next Tuesday. We called 10 minutes before we got there and she told us to come in because there was no one there and we would be seated immediately. My husband even asked if we should make a reservation and she said no just come in. We asked to speak to the manager and the Caucasian man that was supposedly the manager wouldn’t even come out. What a coward. Have the decency to apologize to the people that you lie to and lure into your restaurant. I don’t expect the service in Washington to be anywhere near that of Southern California but if you mislead a potential customer have the balls to come out and say you’re sorry. We will not be back here and we will be telling all of our friends and family how awful the service is. This restaurant does not deserve to be in Gig Harbor.

Way too expensive for quality that is below that of applebees or olive garden. And Olive Garden or Applebee’s will work hard to fix an issue and get you to return. We ordered food to go and picked it up about 20 minutes later than when it was supposed to be ready. I get that you lose some quality when the food sits for a bit but I’ve done it from indochine, as well as multiple other establishments, and my food still tasted amazing. The restaurant put the food under a heat light so everything was dried out and over cooked and tasted off. One of our eaters had a shrimp allergy and they refused to remake the food since there is a tiny thing in black on the menu stating that there is a shrimp appetizer included. They put the shrimp on the dinner, so it wasn’t edible anymore. The salad is a basic cheap iceberg lettuce cheap no nutrient greens garbage. The soup is very watery and is maybe supposed to be miso but tastes like sweat dirt with onions and mushrooms. The up charge for fried rice is a rip off as the veggies are all frozen and are super sparse.

Decent but not worth the price. If you’ve been to 1 of these types of places with food and show you’ve seen them all. Save your money and go somewhere with better food for a cheaper price unless you want a small show.

I’ve been to several of these around the country and this one is better than average, but not as exciting to the taste. Definitely better than Benihana(we all got sick at the the downtown Seattle location once) but lacking some culinary punch. Good menu selection, good sushi and a wonderful spot to take the kids. David is a great host and the restaurant is very clean. We’ll go back.

I’ve tried Mizu a handful of times, hoping each time that it was just an «off» day and it would be better the next visit. I went last weekend and was underwhelmed yet again. We sat in the hibachi area of the restaurant(the other options are the sushi bar or the actual bar). We were seated with another couple at one of the tables, and were served bland soup, watery salad, dry chicken, decent steak, and BOMB fried rice. Seriously, the fried rice is the saving grace of Mizu! The place looks nice, modern with good lighting, but the music is the worst(Blaring Japanese hip hop? Doesn’t fit the ambiance at all, I don’t care how authentic you’re trying to be.) Our waitress was sweet and a very hard worker. The bartender appeared to be acquaintances with the other couple at our table who kept getting rounds of drinks, and he basically ignored us when halfway through our drink we didn’t want to order another just yet. I will give one star for our sweet waitress, one for the fried rice, and one for the awesome fire show, but come on Mizu, your flavors can be so much better!

This is my favorite Japanese steakhouse in this area. I think this is better than the one at South Center by far. The service is always better, 100 times better and the food is good. I have not had a bad experience yet. The Filet and Lobster are to die for. The vegetables are perfect because its zucchini, onions, mushrooms, cabbage, and bean sprouts. For some reason, most of the Japanese Steakhouses around here forget the bean sprouts. Overall, Miku in Gig Harbor wins the best Japanese Steakhouse in the Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle area!

Mizu was horrible, outstanding décor, all the food tastes the same chicken, beef, shrimp use the same sauce. seating muuch too tight. It would help if the owners undeerstood Japaneese

Anytime we want to bring guests out to Gig Harbor, this is our spot. Teppanyaki better than anywhere else I know-have been. The chefs are dependably witty, entertaining, and engage all parties at their table. Food always prepared excellent, and my favorite is the family-owned business and how they treat their customers(always w a hug and a smile)!

What an unexpected find… we were a party of 9 calling around to find a decent place to eat dinner at 7:30 with no reservations, and after finding Mizu on Unilocal,we decided to call there, too. They said to come on down and we’re so glad we did. First off, it is an unassuming little place in a tiny strip mall… until you open the door and walk in. The décor, lighting and layout is all very contemporary and cool. The design very much reminds me of something I would expect to see in a larger city setting and not so much the quaint little town of Gig Harbor. We literally ordered almost everything on the menu and not a single item disappointed. The yellowtail hamachi was to die for, among so many other items. The server/manager and sushi chef were very accommodating and super friendly. We can’t wait for our next visit!

I love this place! The food is good, the restaurant is very clean, the staff is very friendly and fast. In general I love, love, love teppanyaki! I love the fire, the fried rice, the salad, soup and the meat. I love«egg in pocket,» the steaming volcano and the fire drums at the end. The thing I like best about this teppanyaki place is the service. Last Thursday night we went for a date night and they did«the show» for just me and my Husband. They did not make us wait for a big group and the food was fantastic.

Not super impressed with our take out order of sushi. The guy who took my order was super nice and friendly. But, the sushi rolls themselves were very bland. I would’ve loved to douse them with soy sauce, if our order had included more. Also, it’s important to note that their online menu is not representative of what they actually offer. I tried to order the spicy combo, and was informed that they don’t have that at this location. I would just stick with the hibachi side and forgo sushi all together. Bummer.

This place is so delicious & so fun! We came here New Year’s Day with another couple, and it was completely dead. Our server was awesome-prompt, funny, and friendly. We all got the lunch special-soup, fried rice, & choice of meat. The couple we were with also ordered a couple sushi rolls-the playgirl & crunchy crab, I tried some and it was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Our teppan chef was super fun too. Not only did he whip up some awesome food, he was extremely entertaining while doing it! I had chosen the shrimp & scallops and I was not disappointed. Next time we’re in Washington, we’ll definitely be making a stop here!
