This place is awesome. It is very reasonably priced and very delicious. The sushi is great and always fresh. It is nearby by so I order a few times a month. It always arrives quickly and they always get my order right. Great for a quick dinner if you don’t feel like cooking.

The customer service here is exceptionally bad. If you are dining in, you will be very lucky to speak to someone within 8 minutes. If you are ordering to go, the wait can be 30 minutes even in an empty restaurant. The cashier is always rude & short, even after receiving a tip for doing nothing. The upside is the sushi. There’s another Rainbow Sushi on Wisteria. Go there.

So this place is right in the same complex as the Shoppers is. I ordered to go for a lunch chirashi bowl. It came with a bed of rice, wasabi and ginger plus a nice selection of 12 different types of sushi. I can’t remember all that came in it but it had tuna, salmon, white tuna, crab, egg, and tobiko for sure. All of the fish were of large portions and the price of $ 9 was a total steal. The people are very kind, and I will likely be back. If you dine in for the lunch specials, it comes with miso soup as well.

Omg! Amazing! I called in for delivery… it’s free delivery and it comes so fast! Granted I live so close, but still! Since there’s a $ 20 min I ordered chirashi lunch special, unagi don, and a seaweed salad. Plus, don’t forget to check if they have free coupons so I had one for a min of 20, you get gyoza. My food arrived n I was amazed at the potions, presentation considering its take out, and the taste! I got so much for just 25 bucks!

This is one of the best sushi places I have eaten in a while. Very polite and fast people working at the restaruant. All the rolls were good, and I especially liked the fire cracker roll. Best Sushi in Germantown!

This is slowly becoming one of our favorite places to grab sushi in Germantown — it’s quality and convenient of Great Seneca Highway.

This is the go-to place for my wife and I to order sushi. We’ve eaten there 2 – 3 times but usually do delivery, and they say 45 minutes but are always here in 20. Once in a while they don’t get the order quite right(we ask to substitute red clam with something else). We’ve literally ordered from here once a month for about 10 years and nowhere nearby compares. We do the sushi combo or deluxe. The quality has never varied.

NEVERAGAIN! COCKROACHINMYFOOD! It can’t get more disgusting than finding a cockroach inside my steamed rice, but to have the restaurant NOT take the dinner off our bill and instead comp a Sake, as if that would help, is just as disgusting. Everyone read the other review posted 02/09/15…Rainbow Sushi seems to have a cockroach or bug infestation. Needless to say, we are never returning to this restaurant.

Let me start off by saying I will never come here again!!! I chose this place because I’ve never had sushi here. So I went there to go try it out with a friend for lunch. Long story short we ordered the calamari appetizer and as we finished the plate my friend saw something really dark and pointed out there was a roach. I was so disgusted. We finished the whole plate then there it was a roach hiding in the lettuce leaves. At least the waiter took off the calamari off our check but half off the meal would of been better. But nonetheless I’m never going back there again. Go to yoyogi or yuraku this place is a no go!

WARNING. WARNING. WARNING. **************HEALTHVIOLATION. HEALTHVIOLATION************* A friend and I decided to top by here because neither of us have been to this sushi place before. As we got there, its a small little restaurant next to Shoppers in Germantown. When we entered, as all reviews have noted, it was notable empty. The chefs were lounging on the chairs and over the tables and the cashier was as well; understandingly, it was slow and there as nothing to do. So as we entered, they didn’t even really acknowledge us. I wasn’t sure if we were supposed to sit at the teeny tiny table that had two setting set out but obviously could really only fit one person or the really big tables with 2 settings conspicuously placed out. I sat down at one but ended up moving to the other side with the bigger table because of the outlet to charge my phone and there was more lighting on the other side. As we sat, the cashier/waitress came over and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We both selected water, which came out promptly but with no ice. She also gave us only one menu and walked away. I wasn’t too sure what to do, so when she came back I asked for a second, which she then said was already at the table, but it was hidden standing up behind the plastic drink menu thing. We ordered the calamari appetizer(7.99) and the sushi boat(38.99 i believe). A little spoiled by the boat given at Yuraku, when it all came out on a plate and not a boat, I was a little disappointed but it wasn’t much. The sashimi came out before the calamari did, but I didn’t mind being it was only a few minutes in between. The sashimi tasted fine in pretty thick cuts.
The calamari wasnt freshly cooked as I hoped, but it is what it is. The calamari was placed in a nice little oval plate. The lettuce and jalapenos were covered by the calamari. We continued to eat our food in peace. As we neared the end of our meal, we took a pause to just talk, and our waitress came over and began clearing our plates, but the calamari wasn’t all done yet. We requested for her to leave which she did. But as I picked at the lettuce, I discovered it. ************In the dead center of the lettuce, beneath all the calamari, was EITHER a roasted/fried STINKBUG or a roasted/fried COCKROACH. It was disgusting. ******* (the only picture I took for the entire meal) To think, the bug could have been battered, and fried, and been even more hidden with the calamari or other food made me shutter. Initially I didn’t believe that was really there, but my friend started picking at it and it definitely was a cooked stinkbug/cockroach. At this point in time, the waitress had left our check on the end of the table, and when I called her over, she then asked us if we wanted dessert, as if she hadn’t printed out the check. I pointed out the fried bug. She picked up the plate, brought it over to the SUSHICHEF(which had no part in cooking the calamari). He dug through the plate with his bare hands and I watched him pick up the bug. and put it back in. She continued to bring it to the back. She came out to the front seconds later, and took the calamari off our check, said«Sorry, this was the first time it has ever happened» and walked off. Understanding yes, I most definitely was not going to be paying for the calamari, but not offering anything off the rest of our check peeved me just a little. But I was too grossed out and wanted to leave ASAP. So we just paid and left. I assure you, I will NOT be ever coming back here again.

This is a small little restaurant in the shopping center shared with shoppers, popeye’s, mcdz and cvs. Their spicy tuna rolls are pretty good. Like Yoyogi, they offer lunch specials daily. Their lunch specials includes miso soup which explains the higher price. Let me say… Who the heck charges for tea?! Not Yoyogi! This place charges $. 99 for tea and I barely even got a cup! Oh and get this… They charge $ 1.55 for a can of soda… Can you believe that?!

2 ½ starts. Both the food and service are just ok. We ordered Japanese Stir-fried Udon(was not bad) with chicken, sushi specials(boston roll and spicy crunchy tuna) — I wouldn’t order the Boston roll again, chicken pad thai(not very good), Chicken thai basil(not very good) and gyoza, which was complimentary and the best dish ordered.(maybe because it was free)(smile) It’s like each time I go, the quality and taste decrease. Hmmmm, I wonder what the food will taste like the next time I go.

I’ve been coming to this place for many years and yes while it’s not professional top grade sushi or fancy, it is very good for the price you pay. They seem to have a lot of take out orders and they also deliver. People do eat inside, but I think they are known in the area mostly as a good place for sushi take out. I’ve enjoyed almost everything here. The handrolls, the maki rolls. I love the soft shell spider crab app as well as the fried tempura. On this particular visit I had a huge bowl of chicken udon noodle soup that was perfect for a brisk cold evening. update 2÷25÷2015 — i’m hearing people found bugs? ewwww. this is surprising… they might have an infestation now. But this has never been the case all the times I’ve been here. I hope they get this taken care of :/

In chronological order how our visit went… . entered a empty restaurant, sometimes a sign . ask for a Coke & glass of water and got exactly that. A can of Coke with no glass or ice, and a glass of ice-less water. . ordered our entries and they arrived a short time later, but 5 minutes apart(again, in an empty restaurant) and delivered using one hand — the other hand was holding a phone, as she was involved conversation that apparently couldn’t wait the time it takes to walk from counter to table. . as for a glass of ice for my Coke — I wanted to ask, but didn’t want to interrupt the phone call, and after she dropped off the meals — she didn’t return once until it appeared we were done and needed the check. . as for the food — no real complaints — other than the lack of customer service. An empty restaurant isn’t always a giveaway, but setting down an unopened Coke & glass of tap water without ice or coasters, nor given the opportunity to ask for, pretty much summed up the peak of customer service in the empty restaurant.

I believe in fairness, so we went here seeing that the reviews had 3.5 stars out of 20 reviews which isn’t bad. I’m always willing to give a place a try… And this place wouldn’t be bad… if they had an actual sushi chef, wore hair nets or something to keep hair out of my sushi. The waitress doubles as the sushi chef which is not a horrible thing except that I did not see her wash her hands when she went to make our sushi or put on gloves. Especially since she was playing with a tablet beforehand. We found hair in my chirashi lunch special and in my sister’s rolls. Kinda gross. The place was also empty at noon on a saturday while the popeye’s next store was packed… won’t be coming back here.

It’s 4am and I’ve been up all night«eliminating» my veg sushi that I ordered for lunch Saturday 4 May 2013. I’ve had in the past, as I’m extremely wary of raw product, and I’m largely a vegetarian. I should have know something was definitely off kilter. One of the female servers(they’re both pretty unfriendly – never seen either one crack a smile or initiate a greeting) was on the sushi table, rolling. Not sure why, but that was a red flag and I chose to ignore it. Bad bad idea. Upon consuming the rolls I stopped midway through. The avocado and celery in the roll were not at a cold temp. I spent the better part of the evening in the bathroom. At first I thought I might have botulism, but the cold sweats, weakness, throwing up eventually dissipated. I’ve had generally good«luck» there, thinking that the veg option is a much safer choice. I was wrong. I will not be taking my business there ever again. Forewarned is forearmed.
