I’ve been here several times. My go to sushi place is yaraku in Germantown. I’m used to yaraku fresh sushi. This place inside the Market just isn’t even worth it. I bought this today, sure looks good but it made me sick. It’s not fresh at all. It was very nasty. I’ve eaten here more then 10 times trying to really like it because of how cheap it is but it’s a big no no. I will stick to yaraku sushi!

This place has the best sushi. It is always fresh, the cuts of fish are huge and the prices are so reasonable. I stopped going to sushi restaurants. I frequently pick up my sushi dinner here and have a delicious sushi dinner at home with a glass of wine.

Excellent quality for grocery store sushi. Fish is fresh and the cuts are generous. Prices are a great bargain — you can get a plate with 3 sushi and a roll for under $ 6.

My go to place for quick sushi, whether it be at the Lotte location or their actual store their sushi is pretty solid for a quick dine. Their chefs create beautiful sushi quickly and are very accommodating if you ask them to have it made a certain way. My only concern is the cashier, whenever I go, is always in a rush to seat me, feed me, and get me out, which is the only reason I say this place is good for a quick meal. Otherwise awesome sushi and cool ambience!

I started buying their sushi at a local Asian market and that and recommendations of friends led me to their main restaurant. Now is is my preferred takeout sushi place. The fish is always fresh, the portions are on the large side, and the prices are reasonable.

This spot has become a very reliable go to spot. There is never a wait and the sushi is very solid. I have gotten«The Ocean» several times and have been very pleased with each visit. This is a very good spot and alternative for sushi if you want to try something new.

Conveniently located in the Lotte supermarket but hard to find if you’ve never been here before. Solid selection especially during lunch as they start to run low on selection later on in the day. Really affordable sushi and generous portions. I’d give this place a try if you haven’t yet.

For a sushi stand in a grocery store, this place has surprisingly fresh and high quality fish. Daily sashimi specials are available for around $ 6, and while they might not exactly satisfy my ravenous sushi appetite, they make for a great light lunch. Rainbow Sushi also crafts a variety of rolls, ranging in price from $ 4 to about $ 10. Seaweed salad is also available, though I found it to be a bit soggy.

As has been mentioned in previous posts, this is a stand inside Lotte Market in the Germantown Plaza. I have been going to Wegman’s for sushi. On the recommendation of a friend, I gave Rainbow Sushi a try. I can say after 5 or so times there now, I am not disappointed at all. My experience has been very good each time. The sushi is fresh and very reasonably priced. I like it. You pay at the stand — not the market checkout. That’s convenient. They accept plastic with a minimum $ 10 purchase. If you’ve never been, I recommend giving it a try and hopefully your experience will be as good as mine has been.

Love this place! Run into Lotte for fresh produce and then pick-up my takeout sushi order. It’s perfection. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Tip: Definitely order ahead. This place is pretty popular for dinner and they’re generally out of sushi if you just pop-in on a whim. I’ve walked in at times and they refuse to make any more sushi(about 7pm???). The market closes at 8pm.

Not bad… value sushi shouldn’t be expected to be anything more than okay. I don’t trust this supermarket… I bought several items from their«fresh fish» place that ended up smelling like ammonia… cooking bio 101 tells you that the fish has been dead too long and not frozen properly(should be thawed and eaten 3 days to a week after being caught). With that said, I haven’t had a bad experience at the sushi stand(rainbow). It isn’t special, but for the price I don’t have any serious complaints. I just have a hard time trusting their product with horrible quality seafood being sold 10 feet away.

I love this little sushi shop! Fresh delicious fish all the time & the people are very nice! I love picking up a little platter for my husband & myself after raiding Lotte for groceries. I hope they have one in the new Lotte that opened up on Muddy Branch in Gaithersburg!

You would think sushi sold in a grocery store is terrible quality right? WRONG! This place is very good. The sushi quality is restaurant standard you would never come across those hard rice sushi. I had the sashimi combo the fish was very soft and fresh just melts in your mouth. I had few other sushi from there too and they were all great. The price is pretty cheap too. The sashimi combo was only $ 5. This is my go to place whenever I’m craving sushi at work.

Super cheap sushi counter in the Lotte grocery store. Limited selection of sashimi, nigiri, and well-known rolls(i.e. california, philadelphia, rainbow). Everything is good quality for the price paid.

This is a little sushi joint in Lotte past the produce. The sushi here is quite fresh given that it comes already packaged when you buy it(they do make it fresh daily though). They also have a nice variety of options, including rolls, sashimi, nigiri, etc and of course a mixture of these. But something about buying it in those boxes remind me too much of the crappy sushi I ate nearly everyday in college. Although because of that, it’s a great place for a quick takeout, and yes, this sushi tastes 348596x better than the ones I had to eat during school.

Wow, do you really want me to be specific about what I dislike about Rainbow Sushi? The quality of the sushi is mediocre. As I mentioned before, they have the sushi sitting there the whole day, so depending when you go pick up the sushi, the rice is kind of hard. There are gristles in the tuna. Service is pretty lackluster. The lady at the counter gives me sour looks when I arrive. Seriously? After coming once a week? I don’t enjoy giving bad reviews, because nobody likes bad experiences. I’m not opposed to giving a better review. At this point, I don’t think it’s warranted.

Tried out Lotte Market a couple of weekends ago, solely due to the fact that every time I try to find a good sushi place to try in the Germantown area this pops up. First, in case you haven’t read it in pretty much every other review, this is not a restaurant. There are not waiters, you will not be sitting down to be served. It is a small sushi counter(without seats) located behind the produce section. The prices are great, super fair for what you are getting and the fish tasted fresh. I would definitely stop in and pick something up again. But if you are looking for a sit down eating out experience this isn’t it.
