Restaurant is now closed– I’ll miss this place. Owner has another restaurant in Potomac VIllage(Falls & River Rd) but that is a drive from Germantown.

Place is pretty good. Like the décor, wait was good, food came out fast. I couldn’t have sushi bc I’m preggo but my bf got a few rolls and loved them, we both got seaweed salad– larger serving than most place and really good, I got pad tai it was good but I was expecting a bit more of a kick the sauce was kind on bland. We will def go back for the sushi though an the prices are average, not over the top

I frequent EN since they’re close to home and I’m always happy with my experience. They may not have the best sushi in the area, but It’s pretty good! The staff is always friendly, the prices are fair, they’re fast, and the place is clean and attractive. It’s an excellent place to eat if you think of it as a middle-of-the-road sushi restaurant. It’s not incredibly fancy, but you’ll leave full and happy. EN is also amazing for take out!

I am very content with the food. Place is clean and the prices are average. It can get crowed during dinner time. I love their sushi. Customer service needs improvement. Waiters are not attentive nor explain the menu. I didn’t feel welcome once I walked in. There is no interactions between customer and server. Overall service is horrible.

Been a regular for a couple years but the quality has gone down. Last visit, they were running very low on tuna and were substituing toro on the sashimi platters. On a tekkadon, they used very poor quality tuna that is typically chopped up or discarded. Sad to see they try to pass it off as edible sashimi grade. Very reluctant to go back.

I love the sushi here and the lunch specials are great but I have not been pleased with the customer service, which is a huge turn off. I work in a local office with a ton of staff and we were ordering once to twice weekly for lunch. Because of the bad customer service experience, our visits are much less frequent. One day, about 5 of us called in an order, we all got lunch specials and the full order was repeated back over the phone correctly. When my coworker went to pick up the order, my order was not there and they argued with her about it even being ordered. They finally added it on to the order but instead of charging for the lunch special(which was around $ 9) they charged for the chinese dish and sushi roll separately(my meal turned out to be around $ 16 because of this). I called them back and questioned why I was charged this way when I had ordered a lunch special then they continued to argue that it was never ordered in the first place. They then asked me how I would like them to fix the problem and I told them that I thought it was fair to refund the difference. They said that if I wanted a refund, they could not put it back on the card that was used and that I would have to come in for it. I came in to the restaurant and the man at the counter was not very nice about the whole thing. He took the cash out of the drawer and slammed the drawer shut. I have also had a couple of times where I have tried to add on fish roe to a california roll on the lunch special and they have said no even when I have told them that I am willing to pay extra for it. I have even tried buying a side of fish roe to put on top if my roll and they won’t even sell it to me separately. Very disappointing since the sushi is so great here. Just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when they’re not willing to accommodate simple requests especially when you are offering to pay extra for it.

This place is overpriced but the food is good. I suppose the high prices must be for the high rent. The general tsos is good and tasty as some places tend to be more on the sour side. The service is — blah, they dont appreciate customers. The monday night sushi special is a joke. The portion of rice is a joke. Seriously for the prices they charge my general tso should be swimming in rice! The miso soup is blah. tasted very generic and something out of a Lipton packet. They are somewhat generous when the check comes and bring you some nice orange slices but they get really testy if you leave them a lousy tip. I have seen one of the waitstaff chase a lady down the street because she didnt tip. Seriously?! I came here again on someone elses dime. The service has changed expect higher prices. Would I come here on my own? ummm no!

The quality of the food is not good, chickens in their entrees smell so bad, and also staff are very rude and not welcoming at all. This place is a walking distance to my house but 5 years here I have only been there twice, won’t go back anymore

We now live up in Frederick, which has inadequate sushi choices for dinner. Therefore, our go-to place for sushi is EN Bistro in Germantown. We tried it first when the tried-and-true Yuraku was too full to accommodate us and haven’t gone back to Yuraku for dinner more than once since. It’s a small restaurant, but very attractive inside. Service tends to be outstanding and so welcoming. They bend over backwards to satisfy here. It’s owned by the former owner of Momo Taro in Rockville, which was a wonderful place, and the tradition of great sushi is carried on here. They have a full menu of Asian specialties of all kinds, and to be fair, I’ve only had the Japanese food here. While I can’t speak for the Chinese/Thai dishes’ quality, I think it’s safe to say that there’s something for everyone. The overall value of the Japanese dishes is quite good for the quality of food. Do yourself a favor and try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Not a fan of this place. Sushi is overpriced, entrees always seem to lack flavor and are drenched in sauce. Service pretty much is the worst here. It takes them a while to get your order in and the last time we were here, we waited about 25 – 30 mins to get our food. When eating, our sever came over twice to ask if we were done. Having feeling rushed while trying to somehow enjoy your meal is never appreciated. Much said, I won’t be back here again.

I have been coming to EN Asian Bistro since they first opened in Germantown. I have met the owner, and they pretty much know me by my first name. I have also never had a problem with EN up until yesterday! I ordered the same thing I always order, however when I got home I realized they forgot one of my shrimp tempura rolls. I immediately called to let them know I was on my way to come back to pick it up. I was not upset what-so-ever things happen. The guy on the phone said«oh no I’m so sorry! Please come back!» So while on my way back to EN they call me back saying they are 100% positive they put the roll in there and then continued to argue with me about the roll. I felt completely disrespected especially since I am a loyal customer, and spend a lot of money every time my husband and I come in EN. Needless to say I denied the entire charge, and will NEVER be eating there again!

The only thing that prevents this place from being the 4 star best sushi in town… is that Yaraku is down the road and that’s better. However, in the center of Germantown this is the best place going. It is clean inside and the sushi is very good. A nice place to go out for dinner and much better than any of the many Chinese places that also do rolls on the side. I have not been to Yaraku in a while, but I feel like the fish pieces are a little bigger there and more melt in your mouth clean. EN is very good though. On my last visit my specialty roll was the Brothers, roll(pictured). The flavor was good but I had a lot of chewy seaweed paper in there. That may be since it was takeout and the paper absorbs moisture if it sits too long. Prices seem high. Sushi is expensive everywhere, I guess, and you can look at their menu online and decide for yourself. It is nice to have a quality sushi place in the center of town. It gets a steady crowd, but you can usually get a seat and take-out is quick. Give it a try.

DONOTEATHERE!!! WORSTFOOD, SERVICE and MANAGER!!! Disgusting! I used to work near this location and ate here several times but over the past three visits I finally decided to write a review. This place really has gone completely down hill. I was mortified when I ate here on Thursday during a lunch for a small Christmas get together. Lets start with service! LMAO there was none. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to come over and get our drink order. When one of the people I was with asked for lemonade the waitress gave him the dirtest looks. Then we asked for forks to eat our food with(4) to be specific. The waitress brought back two forks, we asked again and she brought one more. One of the other diners had tea and asked for sugar. SHENEVERBROUGHTUSANYTHING. We had to find someone else to get these things from. This is not even the worse part!!! Next we all order and she has an issue with everything we ask. Finally after waiting a good 30 minutes she brings out ONEDISH! Then ten minutes later another dish and another ten minutes the third dish. When I saw her give it to someone else, I said to the waitress are you sure that is CHICKENTERIYAKI? It looks like my food,(I ordered thai basil chicken). She said no that is chicken teriyaki all white meat as requested. I asked her to check and she said No i know what it looks like. I said that isn’t what it looks like but ok. Ten minutes later my thai basil beef comes to the table to find out that its the chicken teriyaki. At this point extremely ANNOYEDANDFRUSTRATED she turns and say whats the problem? I explain the issue and she tells me that is what I asked for. I explain to her that the gentlemen I was with asked for that. She stands there and looks at me blankly and ask what would I like her to do? She tells the other man eating at this point if he wants to stop eating his dish and eat the plate he requested? He say no and then she just stands there and continues to look at me. She asked me again for the third time if I wanted to eat it. I explained that NO i wanted the manager to come to the table. Never saying sorry or being sympathetic to the mess up she has caused she wanted to know why I wanted to speak to the manager. I explained all the issues and she went and got someone. The manager finally comes over very rudely and says what is the problem? I explain all of the issues and he says ok? so you don’t want to eat what you ordered? I explain that it had nothing to do with me but the waitress and changing orders up. He takes the meat away and says I will make you a fresh new plate as if its a burden to him and his restaurant. Two minutes later I get my so called«Thai basil chicken» that took almost an hour to get before with the same chicken teriyaki RE-PURPOSED into the sauce of thai basil sauce. It was still in the same chunks and tasted like chicken teriyaki. I tell the manager that they used the same chicken that was in the previous plate and he stand there and doesn’t deny it or say he was sorry. He looked rather smug and as if he knew they had done it. Of course they did because the food was done in two minutes. Finally we get our check and were charged for all four plates and we tried to explain what we should’ve had removed. Manager took off one plate but it should’ve been two. They have poor customer service and obviously reuse food. Its disgusting and makes me think they reuse all foods. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I went here for dinner with my dad, his gf, and my fiancé. I was pretty good. Simple types of rolls but good. We eat a lot of sushi so the basic rolls tend to be a little boring to us but the fish was really fresh and tasty and the service was very good! They have $ 1nigiri on Monday nights so its definitely worth another visit!

The food that I had was VERYVERY good(sushi) probably the best I’v had. My date had the general tso’s chicken and said it was good except there was to much sauce. The service was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E… The worst I have ever had, we were rushed to order so the could shut down the kitchen, rushed to get drinks, and rushed to make my sushi order… I have to admit, we came a half an hour before closing but we had 4 different people serve our table which was very confusing… Everything was so pushed… Not 2 mins after the food was on the table we had 2 different people give us the check and tell us if we could please hurry and pay so they could close down the computers. No one was polite… This was the worst I have ever had when it comes to service. I was a server for 7 years and many times people would stay 2 hours after closing and I was just as polite as if they came in the middle of the day so they could have a good dinner out. And had no problem with it. I will go back for the sushi. Service is a 0STARFORSURE.

Okay, maybe I was quick to judge when I said that this was the best sushi I’ve had in MD. However, the sushi here is still tasty. the fish is fresh and the portion is very generous. The service is still as good as it gets. I’m not that big a fan of their dishes though… they are just okay. I’d stick with the sushi if I were you.
