We have eaten here several times and we always get seated quickly. The buffet is average but plentiful. Good value for what you receive.

This is my honest and valid review of my experience at Grand Buffet. I would recommend going to Grand Pacific Buffet instead, see my review on my Unilocal Page. Let’s get started. Seating. Could be quicker, could be slower, kind of average in this department, but the seats they have make up for it, sanitation-wise. Sanitation. As I already explained, the seats were nice and clean, but I’m here to talk about the bathrooms. The toilets were okay, but the floor was sticky in a stall. My shoes stuck to the ground. It was like someone just ran in there with syrup and squirted it everywhere, I’d call him the Maple Maniac. Repairs. None really needed. Everything seemed to be working fine to my standards, as in things worked. Service. It was mediocre. They checked on us maybe twice the whole time, I had to ask for refills several times, to the point where if I didn’t go ask, I would be eating tangy shrimp without a drink in the world. Whew, I’m glad I asked, it was a little spicy. But overall, she did get us what we needed, but we did have to ask her. That kind of balances out whether I should give it a three or a four, if service was better, it might have deserved a four, maybe. Food. The same as Grand Pacific, just less food. Kind of like the demo of it. Still good food, but not as much. Overall, I would say this is an average place with nothing too special. Three stars.

Not many Western foods here, sushi is okay. Love the Chinese food here! The restaurant is smaller than the one on stage rd, but it is just as good as the other one!

I love this place. I go there during lunch two or three times a week. This place is awesome. They have everything hibachi, sushi, American food and their reasonably priced. Will eat here again.

The location is excellent and safe. It’s Germantown after all. The atmosphere is casual, clean, and well-decorated, complete with a lovely indoor fountain with koi fish in it. The service is welcoming, efficient and fairly prompt. The buffet itself is what it is: an average 21st century Chinese buffet. The selection is large and includes sushi at no additional charge. My only problem — and for me, it’s a big problem — is that the only rice available is fried rice. I’ve never seen another Chinese buffet that doesn’t have steamed rice available. On top of that, the fried rice was overcooked and dry.

Ok so I am SOINCREDIBLYIMPRESSED… with the sushi. The buffet is meh. Only thing that appealed to me and that I liked on it was the coconut shrimp and the rice noodles(mix them– just do it). But the sushi is so freaking fantabulous! My friend and I got to-go boxes. It’s like $ 4 a pound– which is a great deal when you mostly want to get sushi. In fact, just get the sushi. Get a to-go box and fill it up with samples of all of the amazing sushi. IT’S LIKE A SUSHIBUFFET with the main courses being there for decoration. You don’t even understand. I usually HATE sushi with cream cheese in it but at this place I LOVED it. It has totally blown my mind and convinced me to give other types of sushi with cream cheese in it a chance! Also, I don’t know what the actual names are for the Chef’s Specials(or maybe they just throw a bunch of random stuff together?) but they were amazing as well. The ladies working there are friendly and they sell a bunch of different stuff at the cash register such as jewelry and even pretty chopsticks! I paid less than $ 8 for a meal that stuffed me to the gills and made me oh so happy. I don’t recommend the buffet, but I do recommend getting a to-go box and just getting sushi. Nom nom nom nom nom. Happy faces: — Coconut Shrimp — Fantasy Roll — Hawaiian Sushi — Nigiri Shrimp Sushi — Rice Noodles — Spicy Crabmeat Sushi Ok: — Strawberry Crab Sushi Sad faces: — Crunchy Shrimp Sushi — Dumplings — Fried Rice — Spicy Crawfish Sushi — Crab Rangoons

Went with my boyfriend to eat here for the first time. Lousy food. Also way over priced at $ 25.00. Would have been better off somewhere else.

Awful, just awful! The servers are rude & the food just average and not even hot enough. The server was using a dirty towel to wipe the hot sauce bottles and too where it pours out — contamination at its best. There are much better choices in the area!

Used to come here from time to time. Had not been in a while. It was really not that good. The sushi was decent and I ate mostly that. The Chinese food on the buffet was mostly a bust. With some of the best Asian food in the city right around the corner I’m not sure the point for the buffet. I recommend going to New Asia right around the corner.

This is our favorite week night buffet for the family. The service is very friendly especially Yuki and Susan and they dote on your child and clear the plates and refill the drinks often. Food is a nice mix of sushi and salads as well as Chinese hot dishes including a very yummy hot and sour soup. Our daughter loves the ice cream cups and sesame balls for dessert. They often have coupons in the local mailer as well and you can pick up take out from here as well.

I have frequented the Grand Buffet several times with my girlfriend, and each visit has been satisfactory. The restaurant is always very clean, especially for a buffet setting. The food is always well stocked and they have a good variety of different entrees, sides, sushi, and dessert. There are some foods here that are quite good, but in general it is average tasting food; nothing tastes bad, but nothing amazing. The desserts here are generally disappointing. I actually usually get a Chinese donut and vanilla ice cream to create my own dessert which works out pretty well. In general though, dessert is their weak point. There is a significant language barrier here so it’ll be often they bring you the wrong drink, but they are friendly. I just am amused they brought out a Diet Pepsi three times after correcting them and asking for regular Pepsi. This is a place I would love to give 3.5 stars to, but the option is not available. The price point is good and you will leave full, and if you are craving Chinese this is a safe bet, hence I would recommend this place to others.

So sticky! Great sushi bar, though. I must preface this review by telling you I am a weight loss and health food writer, so BUFFET stands for«big unhealthy fat folks eating together» in my mind. When I first walked in, I saw décor that reminded me of a blend of an old shoney’s and a cheap nail salon. The bathroom was in tatters. That said, this place has lots of lighter options, such as garlic green beans, soups(the hot & sour is so-so, egg drop is great), and a fantastic sushi bar, with rolls made fresh all day. There is a language barrier issue, which makes me a little uncomfortable. I don’t want to feel like a creep repeating myself, but they’d better make sure it’s DIET Coke, namsayin? Prices for the buffet are based on age. Great desserts, too. Once a week, for $ 12, I could do this.

My family and I frequent Grand Buffet. Their dinner buffet is $ 9.99 and includes hibachi and sushi. There is a ton of food on the buffet that is sure to cater to any appetite. Their sushi bar always has at least 20 different rolls. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity to try out new sushi or try sushi for the first time. I usually get a few rolls and some nigiri(which is just raw fish on rice). Their hibachi chicken and pepper steak with peppers and onions is really good. They also have these fried potatoes and onions which is excellent. Either way for a penny under $ 10 for dinner, you can’t go wrong. There are definitely worse Chinese/Japanese buffets in town. Give them a try!

For a buffet under 15 bucks, this is ASGOODASITGETS. Just the sushi alone is worth the trip, and the huge selection of other food as well as desserts are just benefits. Everything from freshly shucked oysters to salt and pepper shrimp, black bean clams, spring rolls, ribs, pizza, fried rice, watermelon, and cakes… I really cannot believe how people could gripe about a lack of variety. As an asian american I have pretty high standards for asian food, and I am constantly amazed how consistently good the food is. Food is never old, and it seems whenever something starts to run out, it is immediately filled. Still think the food isn’t «fresh» enough for you? Then just have the guys at the hibachi station make it for you. I’ve grown up in Boston and live in Hawaii. Seriously a single roll costs the same price for this buffet. Service consistently clears empty plates and fills water immediately, and it’s awesome you can come here in large groups pay separately, and not have to pay a huge gratuity fee. Also, this is also the CLEANEST buffet I have been in to for the price range. My only wish, was that there was one closer to midtown…

for $ 11.99 you get an all you can eat buffet. That’s less that you would pay for a meal in most places. The food has always been fresh, especially since I’m a big fan of their sushi buffet. They have lots of selections of sushi and each one is labeled so you know exactly what you are choosing. There is NEVER a fishy smell coming from the sushi which is one good indication it’s fresh. The service is great. The dirty plates are never on the table long and our drinks were never empty. I’ve also never felt rushed to leave. There is a little pond in the front filled with goldfish and koi which is a great distraction for cranky or bored children.

First, let me start by saying it’s Chinese buffet. I don’t expect anything fancy when I go to one, as long as the food is good and the place looks clean, I don’t care. The food was certainly good. I went for lunch, and they had tons of variety. They had lots of standard Chinese fare, from spring rolls and egg rolls, crab wontons, several soups, sweet and sour chicken, steamed and fried rice, lo mein, and General Tso’s chicken. Also, there was an elaborate sushi spread. Given how many types were there, they very well might have had the entire menu out there. If you’ve never had sushi before and aren’t sure what to try first, get your feet wet with the crispy shrimp roll. It’s a piece of fried shrimp wrapped in seaweed and rice. From there you can try stuff like eel and spicy tuna. There was even some American food to please everyone else, like baked fish, green beans, and fried zucchini. Finally, there’s of course dessert. There’s cups of ice cream, Jello, cakes, pie, sweet rolls, and other goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth. There’s also a full menu for both lunch and dinner, and the lunch items are just $ 4.99. I only had the buffet so I’ve no idea how good any of that is, but I’m sure it’s at least as good as everything on the buffet. The service is great, too. Even if everyone at your table is just getting the buffet, they’re still very attentive. Dirty plates barely sat at our table and even in between then we were checked on often to see if we needed refills or anything else.
