Burger University

The whole family really enjoy it and the portions are huge. The onion rings were pretty spectacular!

Parking is a bit limited, but I like the fact that it is a build your own type. I wish the ‘salad bar’ or where the lettuce, tomato, ect is would be easier to access. I had to jump over tables and chairs just to get a few pickles and onions.
The sweet potato fries are thin cut and crispy. I wanted more!

Well, the fries and o-​rings were terrific, other than the fact that they landed at the table cold;however, the flavor and volume was there. The burgers were great with the same issue. I like ‘just off the grill’ heat, and that was lacking. I had the blue cheese burger, and it was loaded with big bleu cheese crumbles, thick smoked bacon, and caramelized onions. The other fixins’ are at a versatile accessory bar that was well-​stocked .Once again, the positive fact that the bun was toasted was shadowed by a lack of ‘just grilled’ heat. I’d do it, again, but they need to work on making the burger seem fresher, and just made. Also, they need to dust. When the railings next to your table are undusted, it makes you think about the kitchen (and that’s never good). SCORE: B+

Tried this place last night and this place knocked a Grand Slam out of the park. All 7 of us enjoyed everything without a single complaint. They offer creative varieties or build your own, provide a condiment & sauce buffet, helpful & friendly staff, huge portions, and tasty-​cooked to perfection burgers and fries sides. I’ll come back next time I’m in town and craving a tasty burger.

The burgers and HUGE portion of fries are fresh and the service is good. We had a late lunch (3:00pm) so the ambiance was lacking (no one there, dirty tables), but all in all a good place to get a burger with a neat selection of different burgers. We will return.

Best burgers in Georgetown. Lots of choices. The onion rings and fries are made fresh out of real veggies. Num. The restaurant is clean and comfy. Try it!

My husband and I had a late lunch there yesterday. Yummy burgers with toasted buns which is a really nice touch that is hard to find elsewhere. The salad bar had very nice tomatoes and fresh lettuce ! Agee that the creamy jalapeño dressing is really good — if we had one suggestion it would be to fry the onion rings crisper — they were not as crisp as we would have liked. The Freshman Hamburger meal is a really good value for the smaller appetite ! We love supporting our local businesses on the square !

Fits in nicely in an old building in the square. Service was nice and friendly and the burger was good. You get to put your own condiments on at a salad bar. Best thing in this place is not the burgers but the fries. I think I could skip the burger and eat just fries.

Great burgers & atmosphere. Sweet potato fries are delicious. Creamy jalapeño dressing a huge hit. Onion rings yummy. The menu was a little confusing. Had to ask alumni to explain. Good food!!!

This is a great place. The quantity of food you get for the price is great as well. We ordered several different burgers and 2 kinds of fries. We were unable to eat it all. The hamburger patty was thick and cooked to perfection. The buns were pretty good too. The «fixin’s» lacked quite a bit and looked to have been in there a while. As others have said, it could use a cleaning, but overall it was a good burger which is what I went there for.

Second time this has happened-​exact same thing with the exact same way it was handled.
Went in to order a double Alumni, with a gluten free bun and an order of fries. 13 minutes later the burger arrives. We take two bites and realize it is not a double. I got up to the register and let them know. He says he’ll have the cook put on another patty.
The second patty arrives 12 minutes after our original burger. We are now finished with the single burger and are left with a patty. I go back up to the register and voice my displeasure with the way this was handled and let them know the exact thing happened the last time. The two employees let me know they don’t have the authority to do anything and that the manager is not in and won’t be in till tomorrow! REALLY?! No manager for nearly 24 hours?
Not sure how anyone else thinks this should have been handled, but I believe either a refund or a coupon to come back and get a burger on the house. Terribly run business.

Great burgers and sweet potato fries. The portions are huge so you can easily split one order of fries. There is usually a local band or singer playing for lunch and dinner. One of my favorites on the square.

This place needs a deep cleaning. Trash cans are nasty from top down. Looks like the place has never used a broom or mop. The restrooms are the same. Please tell your young staff to clean. The burgers are awesome, but to eat and see the filth just doesn’t mix. Ill make another visit sometime soon and hopefully y’all take this review seriously. Please clean. Thank you.

Quality food, good service, and very friendly and professional staff. However, a bit pricey for the amount of food, and they really need to have honey mustard sauce available.

Very good burgers. Not over cooked, slightly greasy, not too heavy, and lots of flavor!

My boyfriend and I ordered two burgers to go with sweet fries and regular fries. It was not only so much food but so much deliciousness. I highly recommend getting the burger with pineapple I believe it is called the spring break burger. and only you were the burgers to licious the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and I highly recommend going here.

I definitely won’t be back due to poor customer service and mediocre food. We ate at Burger University in the past and it always took 30 – 40 minutes to get our food, which is ridiculous for burgers but we thought maybe we just had bad luck the few times we went.
I purchased a
gift certificate thinking we would give it one last chance and if the burgers took a while at least we would get a decent deal. We went there and were told ‘we know the gift certificate has no expiration date but we don’t accept them anymore, because we had issues with restau​rant​.com’.
So now I have a gift certificate that I paid for and can’t use, even though they admit they should be accepting them. They obviously don’t care about their customers or the service they provide, so I won’t be back.

Food is usually better than normal … 3 stars. Customer service (I get that it is self-​serve) is horrible … 1 star. Equals out to a generous 2 stars.
We were there when the place first opened and liked it. It is going downhill fast. Dirty floors, dirty bathrooms, the «fixings» area needed attention (refilled) but all I saw was staff standing around texting. Someone needs to give a class on how to run a business at this ‘University.‘
We are finished spending our money here and will go down the street or across I35 to Hardtails.

Well Honey Bun lets go get a burger, OK where, how about Burger University in Georgetown, we have never been there, Ok let’s try it, the Batmobile is rolling, rolling, rolling! Found it on corner in the square.
We entered and walked to the counter to place our order, I ordered the campus classic burger and my wife ordered the fraternity burger which has bacon and we got fries and onion rings. There is a side bar to get your drinks and condiments to your burger, such as tomato, lettuce, pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, ketchup and other stuff, this bar is down stairs, it is a split level with seating upstairs when it is crowded. Yes if you are eating upstairs when they bring your order you will need to go downstairs to add them. So be it!
How did we find the food? We both liked our burgers including the items we added. We also liked the fries and onion rings. We both agreed that it was a good burger, it was cooked right and the bun was warm as well, on this day the food and service was good.
Would I (we) go back? Yes we will and soon.
