Love this place. Been going here since I was a kid, so my love is also rooted in nostalgia. Pros: 1. Updated interior makeover. Modern tables and chairs. Hard flooring replaced the old carpets. New contemporary white rectangular-ish shaped plates and utensils. 2. Monthly menu specials — usually a new soup, a new salad, a new pasta, and a new bread/muffin. This is changed out monthly depending on what’s in season. 3. Extensive salad bar offerings, everything fresh. 4. Extensive soup selections. Daily offerings include chicken noodle soup, chili, clam chowder. Other soups rotate in — veggie chili, Asian broth, sausage and potato… 5. Daily bread options — cheese pizza, focaccia bread, white and wheat slices, blueberry muffins, cornbread. 6. Dessert — fruit varies, jello, soft serve ice cream with various sundae toppings. 7. Self serve soda foundation drinks, ice tea, strawberry and regular lemonade. Cons: 1. If it’s busy the food runs out fast, and doesn’t get replenished quickly. Get more chicken noodle soup comin’ STAT!!! 2. Cornbread has actual pieces of corn in it. Gross. 3. Pastas are usually bland. 4. They moved an island in between the breads and soups to hold the soup bowls and utensils. I think it’s totally in the way, especially when it’s busy. It’s just one more obstacle between me and the chicken noodle soup! 5. Bathrooms are usually dirty and smell bad. Hack: get the Mac and cheese, scoop the bacon bits from the potato bar into it, add more shredded cheese from the bacon bar, stir and let sit while you enjoy something else. When you eat it, it is so delicious! Hack: Asian broth base — add all the toppings right next to it(green onions, tofu, crunchies) — head back to the salad bar and add mushrooms, shredded carrots, spinach, curly pasta noodles, and jalapeños for the spice. So good!!!

I really like Souplantation. The last time I visited this location was for dinner on a weekday. The line was out the door. Surprisingly, my party was able to be seated as soon as we finished paying. The lady making salads at the front of the line was working nonstop because the two lines were going nonstop. I got lucky with a fresh batch of steak salad, which is amazing. They should keep this as a regular instead of seasonal menu item. It’s the only thing that makes my boyfriend eat his veggies: P The host guy was really nice and knew what he was doing. The register guy seemed like he was new because he let his customers tell him what to do. He didn’t smile and was more reactive than proactive. My favorites are the seasonal Asian ginger soup and chicken noodle soup. I really like being able to create my own salad. I love that they added edamame. Their next step would be like walnuts and pecans, in addition to the sunflower seeds. My guilty pleasure here, of course, is all the carbs: mac n cheese, flatbreads, blueberry muffins, chocolate cake, baked potato, butter + toast(the multigrain is delicious), etc. Lastly, you just can’t forgo the ice cream and fun toppings like sprinkles and chocolate sauce!

I went a few days ago, and ate my fair share of food. I hadn’t eaten all day and this was my first meal of the day. Had a bit of everything, salad, Mac n cheese, pizza, bread, etc. A few hours after leaving I’ve come up with food poisoning. I was feeling great all day but once I got home, nausea, chills, major headache, body ache. I’m still trying to get over the illness that soup plantation gave me. After reading other reviews that were posted within a day of me writing this stating that they saw cockroaches, I will never eat at soup plantation again.

I love Souplantation. Like I really do. Endless salad?! Mac n cheese?! Soup?! Pizza bread?! I don’t even feel guilty for shoving them all down my throat but this one so, so, so disappoints. I’ve been here probably around 5 times already and 4 of those times, my friend and I had a horrible experience. First time, the spoon I grabbed from the middle of the place still had food on it! Wth? Please be careful guys. Second time, my friend bit onto a broken clam shell from the clam chowder which could’ve cut her tongue. Third time, found more than 1 utensil still dirty! I don’t understand how hard it can be to wash forks and spoons. Fourth time, my friend was mixing her clam chowder and used her spoon to cut her potato and bam! A hair in her soup. Jesus Christ. This souplantation is the most disappointing. Please get your shit together.

Honestly it’s 3 stars for the food, but I have to go with 4 stars just because my family has been coming here for YEARS and it’s just such a reliable go-to place when you’re trying to be a little healthier, but still have the option to carb up. I like that they have different themes/ingredients each month, so the menu does change up a little bit. The pastas are usually on the blander side but a healthy sprinkling of red pepper flakes will spice things up. Even when it’s PACKED, you don’t wait long for a table, and the food is always being refilled. There’s this one older guy that works here and is so efficient at clearing the tables; I try to give him a larger tip because he’s just the definition of a hard worker. Can we get an employee of the month(year) award?

Been to Garden Grove Location several times. Never really had a big complaint till recently. Called to ask about the current price and special menus. Ended up just asking for the current price because it was very unpleasant talking with the lady on the phone. She had a rude tone. I felt like I was bothering her and asking all the wrong questions. Sorry that I didn’t ask for her name. Won’t ever go to this location again. Called Fountain Valley. The lady there was so nice and informative. Definitely will be a regular at FV location.

I hope a manager reads this– I love Souplantation and I’ve been to this location many times before. We came in for dinner around 8PM on a busy Friday night. We were greeted as we walked in and asked how we were doing. We received our tostada and continued down the salad line. Problem 1– We get to the cashier and it’s a young boy who was completely unprofessional. He was very short and not friendly at all. He would talk with his friends that were also working while checking us out. He kept dropping things and was clearly uninterested in his customer service. Problem 2– Three young workers continued to socialize with each other while acting like they were doing something productive in the same area. One worker was behind the soup bar chewing on a toothpick while blatantly looking at his phone in clear view of customers. I am outraged at how unprofessional these workers were. If you’re going to hire young workers, at least ensure they’re mature enough to handle a Friday night crowd or that they are diligently trained and taught about work ethic. Funny how when I returned to get more food, they were all of a sudden focused on work because the manager happened to be in sight. However, there was one POSITIVE– the worker that was busting in our area was amazing. He was courteous and efficient in cleaning up our table. He replaced napkins and swept up mess on the floor. Now he deserves to be recognize. Those young kids need to take notes on proper work ethic and customer service from this guy. Please, Souplantation, get your workers in order.

I’ve been coming to this Souplantation for years and it never disappoints. The buffet is always full and fresh. Recently, they have been featuring different ethnic food each month in addition to the regular buffet. Last month it was Asian food and this month it is Mexican. The chicken noodle soup is one of my favorites. The pizza is always super hot and fresh too. I love being able to make my own salad and eat a little bit of everything at all the different food stations. There is also a small ice cream buffet. There is usually just chocolate and vanilla but there are lots of toppings and several sauces to put on top. It is one of my favorite parts of Souplantation. If ice cream isn’t your thing, there are always good fresh baked goods and sometimes different kinds of cakes but those are usually different. They have had chocolate lava cake in the past and it is so good. If they are serving that while you are there, get it! You won’t regret it. On top of the good food, you can usually find a coupon online to use in the restaurant.

I call my visits to Souplantation my soupyplans — because that is what they are. They happened to be serving an awesome cauliflower cheese soup and clam chowder when I was there. All great. I would definitely sign up for their email offers to receive discounts as their prices can seem a bit steep for salad. Overall I love eating here — always a healthy choice.

It’s just okay. I’m not sure why the place is never clean, either — but I’m guessing it’s because of the vast plethora of people that come in for a cheap buffet only to be disappointed. There’s not much meat either. BUTWHYDIDTHEYHAVETOGET rid of the Asian Chicken Salad!!! That was by far the best salad available and now it’s all gone :(.

Souplantation is fun to visit and I think I would like to come here once a month! They feature a culture every month and incorporate this into their salads and soups. This month they featured a lot of Asian themed salads and soups. I was very pleased with this and with their baked goods. One of their focaccias had chicken satay and peanuts. It was delicious! I wish they had more meat options and fruit options but all in all its a great place to come with family and feel good about your food choices. They also claim to bring in all their produce from local farms and this also makes me feel good to be supporting local California farmers. They absolutely get 5 stars for their fresh strawberry lemonade! Seriously, I would come to Souplantation just for their fresh lemonade!

Visited here earlier today. Despite it being a holiday, my group and I had no trouble finding an empty table. I like their fresh salads, clam chowder, and mac & cheese. I don’t really bother with any of their other dishes but I do know that they offer a wide variety of soups, pastas, and baked goods(such as muffins). They also offer vanilla and chocolate soft serve for dessert(the vanilla is out of order right now). Clean restaurant, good price($ 12.29 for an adult dinner with a drink, I used a coupon from retailmenot), decent food. 4⁄5 stars.

I really enjoyed my visit to Souplantation. I was in the mood for some soup and salad. Souplantation was the first place that came to mind. We walked in had an online coupon from . We paid $ 24 for two adult dinners, with beverages included. So I definitely recommend you print that out before visiting. When you first walk in they have a wide selection of salads. You can either make your own salad or select one that’s already made. I decided to go for a Caesar salad and added extra cucumbers and ranch. Once you finish selecting you salad you pay up front and enter the rest of the food islands. I found a seat to place my salad down and started with a baked potato and the chicken noodle soup. I added sour cream, cheese and bacon to my baked potato. It was as good as it sounds. The soup was nice and flavorful with perfect amount of broth and chicken. Caution! The soup can be very very hot. I burned my tongue. Other items selected were the tomato basil soup which was also very delicious. It was nice and thick and very flavorful. I then proceeded to get something from the dessert table. I got a corn bread, chocolate chip bar, and some ice cream. Overall, this place has good soups and salads. I Left full and satisfied knowing this buffet is healthier than others. The staff was okay and the location seemed clean and well taken care of. I will be back again.

My husband and I have been coming to this Soup Plantation for years. Its always a great place to go when you are looking for healthier choices. This review is detailed about todays visit, but I also give this Soup Plantation location 5 stars overall. My husband and I have been to several Soup Plantations over the years. This location is always consistent with its service, cleanliness, and food! Excellent. So, we went today for a late lunch. Oh, around 4-ish. Thats almost dinner, huh? Ok, early dinner, late lunch. Anyways, it wasnt busy at all. Not yet. So, we hopped in line, and loaded our plates with healthy, salad goodness! Yum! The employees are always very nice at this location. There is one lady that always greets my husband, and I. She always remembers us. All of the soups, pizza, muffins, mac n cheese, everything was super fresh made. All the lettuce, fresh, fresh, fresh. I was loving the salad dressing bar. They had some new stuff I hadn’t tried before: Avocado Vinaigrette, and Creamy Sesame Soy. SOOOOOGOOD! They also have a lot of raw vegetable choices. My husband is one of those people who loves eating really fresh, raw vegetables. The salad bar has plenty of everything, for everyone! So, we ate to our hearts content. Both my husband and I always feel better after eating healthier foods. Soup Plantation makes that possible, and everything is delicious. Im not crazy about the female bathroom at this location. It just always has this weird, smell. I don’t know, I just know I don’t like it. But its not bad enough for me to deduct a star! My hubby says that the Mens bathroom is always clean, but obviously I cant vouch for that first hand! LOL! Oh, also, I would like to add that Soup Plantation remodeled. Honestly, we haven’t been there in a few months. The remodel is recent. Little stuff. Like the floors are hardwood now. Also, the dishes are set up a bit different, and they are mostly glass now. Nice. We will always return to Soup Plantation. Like I said, its a much, much healthier choice, with all the delicious flavors, and options. Give it a try!!!

After my little meeting down in Westminster on Saturday I came here for lunch. I picked up my mom since she’s been feeling sick so soup seemed like the perfect remedy. Truth be told, my stomach wasn’t all that well either… curses to that chicken sandwich but I digress. First off the place is really clean. There plates were spotless. The selection did seem a tad limited compared to other places at first glance but I looked again and nope there are a bunch of soup selections here. My favorite will always be that chicken noodle soup. I can eat like 20 bowls of that. Ok maybe 10 only. I tried the chili, chicken veggies, and some other ones but nothing compared. They all were pretty good too though. Out of all the souplantations I’ve been to, this is one of my favorite ones. Service isn’t as great as the one in Irvine, which takes the crown for me, but its still pretty good here due to the cleanliness and sizeable soup selection. I’d definitely return.

A potentially healthy meal here, could very quickly turn into one that’ll you’ll end up kicking yourself in the butt for eating. It’s so easy to carb-load with your fair share of baked potatoes, breads, muffins, cheesy bread, desserts, salad dressings, etc. So if you’re coming here to eat healthy, make sure you’re conscious of what you’re adding to your plate because it’s so easy to get carried away with choosing all the wrong options. I like to load-up on greens from the salad bar – lettuce, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach, edamame, etc. and instead of using any of the creamy/fatty dressings, I drizzle some olive oil and vinegar and sprinkle on some sunflower seeds. Don’t get me wrong, I still treat myself to some breadsticks, muffins, etc., but if I start with the salad and soups then it keeps me from filling up with the stuff that’s not so healthy. Most recently, they’ve added a Curry Lobster Bisque, which is really good if you like seafood and spicy food.

Really don’t usually love buffets, but Souplantation is one of the better ones. Prices are fair and they often have coupons and specials going on if you sign up online. Service was ok, the buffet clean and well kept when we came for an early lunch. Even my son who is not a soup or salad lover found some things her enjoyed, my husband not so much. The quality and variety is ok for the price, they have enough seating and the restaurant is well kept, better than I thought it would be.

Unilocal challenge 2015127⁄365 This is the type of place where you cant go wrong. Unless your a major carnivore and are looking for a meatfest. If your looking for meat you have came to the wrong place. There is hardly any meat here. In fact, the only meat are the iddy biddy bits in their soups or on the pizza. But going meatless won’t hurt you for a day. If your looking for a AYCE build your own salad and soup bar paired with some carb overload with oodles of hot muffins and breads smeared with butter and a few pasta dishes finished with chocolate lava cake and ice cream then look no more. This is your home. To wash it all down they offer a wide selection of iced teas, tea bags, coffee, milk, unique fresh drinks and soda fountain. Located at Valley View and Chapman in GG in the Vons shopping center. They recently remodeled the look inside, replacing it with a fresh, modern environment with plenty of seats to accommodate parties of 2 or 12. During the dinner rush it gets busy. Grab your tray and a plate and get to work building your salad. Lots of indecisive slow pokes fill the line. It is okay to pass them up. Just don’t be surprised if they give you the stink eye in return. Once you pay, you can enter the second room of food for all the good stuff. Soups, chocolate chip muffins, pizza, baked potatoes, mac and cheese. It is carb heaven. Don’t forget the whipped honey butter for your muffins. Once your tray is full, grab a seat. Sometimes they lag on removing your emptied plates, so have some patience. The food here is nothing special. Some of it is a little plain. But I still enjoy eating here. The premade Asian salad and blueberry muffins are my favorite. I usually tweak the salad by adding fresh cracked pepper and red onions and extra won ton noodles. Dinner for 2 with 2 drinks just under $ 30. Look for a coupon to save a little. I sm a fan. Review #624

Souplantation used to be my to-go restaurant for my birthday because a) there’s no bill anxiety, b) they can accommodate large groups, and c) they won’t make your entire party show up before getting seated. Now, if I am to review THISSPECIFIC Souplantation, well, I’ve been to a few. Though the layout can be claustrophobic, and there’s no ICEE machine(like the Irvine one), the service is always great and the food is always fresh. Souplantation in GENERAL is my favorite chain. Sure, everything is bland, but you just need to fix it up with some tips: On your initial salad bar trip… Grab some red onion for the chili, which should only be added to a bowl with a honey-buttered cornbread on the bottom. Grab some olives, tomatoes(when available), red onion, and jalapeños for the pizza. Also a few cups of ranch won’t hurt. Unless you’re lactose-intolerant and obese with diabetes, in which case it might hurt a little. Outside the salad bar, take some chicken from the chicken soup to replace the meat they took out of the Chinese Chicken Salad, which is now Wonton Unhappiness Salad. Add cream of mushroom soup to your watery pasta dish. Those little black cups near the ice cream. Those are for amateurs. Grab a soup bowl with a handle. Use you spoon and smash a chocolate muffin into the bottom as a base. And finally, bring a cooked steak and eat it. See you next thyme.
