Loved the spicy red sauce, and the pizza was great! But it took FOREVER! There were only two employees working that night, which was a big disservice to their customers. They were not able to balance the pizza making and the pizza cooking.

Compared to Pieology, this place isn’t that great. I’ve been to better«build your own«pizzas. Like, Pile It On at Bella Terra, Pizza Press or even Blaze. The crust is SUPER thin, so it’s all hard once they take it out of the oven by the time all the toppings are cooked. It was also kind of burnt. Minus another star because they are also really stingy with the toppings. I am giving this place two stars because even though their«build your own«pizzas wasn’t that great, the service was nice and welcoming. I just think they should fix up their dough and make it a little thicker.

This place sucks compared to pieology. Slow service, skimped toppings, burnt f*cking pizza. Usually the pizza I get at pieology is packed with toppings and its thick. This was like eating a piece of cardboard, they burnt my pizza. My pizza tasted sour for some reason that I don’t know of, sauce was bbq and it tasted sour. I forced it down and told my friend i’d never come back here. Maybe it’s the worker that made my pizza shitty but I am not coming back here. Place was empty and thats usually a good sign that it sucks but I had to try it as a recommendation from a friend anyway.

I love the little mom and pop shops and try to frequent them as often as possible. Think a basic(very basic) version of Pizza Rev or Pieology and you have Pizza Theory. You walk in and there isn’t a menu or even pictures on the wall. What you do get is a very nice greeting from whomever is behind the counter. The premise is to build your own pizza from a selection of toppings. Don’t be afraid, load it up! It takes just a few minutes to cook and you will be enjoying your lunch in no time. They even have a rewards program so don’t forget to have them punch your card!

Update as of Feb. 15, 2016: Chicken wings are back, but now they’re out of garlic parm sauce. 1 week until it’s back. What is going on here, Pizza Theory? You guys need to get with it! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Feb 1, 2016: This place makes fantastic chicken wings. Unfortunately, they’ve been out of wings for a month! I know because I’ve called practically twice a week each week for the whole month of January. Shouldn’t they know within a week of selling out how much they need to replenish their stock?! Is it not chicken season right now or something? Come on! (14÷100, 2016)

Due to my sisters love for this place, I’m giving it 4 stars. Think of this place as a pizza version of Subway. Awesome place to get customized personal pizzas. When placing the toppings they give very little, so its best to ask for double or triple. I’m very selective on my toppings, so I only like a certain few. I actually really like their spicy red sauce as opposed to the normal tomato sauce. It gives the pizza a nice little kick to it. Pizza crust is thin and crispy, no pizza is cooked the same. Sometimes its burnt and other times its not, its good either way. Takes about 20 min when all is said and done. From the moment they get the dough and getting it into the oven to finish. If you’re super hungry, the wait is awful, but once your pizza is done, its worth it.

So It was my first time going to pizza theory, and they told me they were open for about 4 months now. Thought I would try this place out, because I would see it everytime I cross by Brookhurst and Garden Grove Blvd. I got to say this place is no different than Blaze Pizza or Pieology, but I would honestly prefer those than this place. Don’t get me wrong, it was good regardless, because I love food. But I just think it’s kind of overrated. I just thought that the pizza was kind of a bit too small once it was finished. They barely put sauce on it. It just tasted like I just ate the toppings without tasting the sauce with it. I was kind of disappointed at the fact that they didn’t have wings when I went there because my friend and I were really looking forward to it because unfortunately they were out. They should decorate the place more and make it look more stylish, but I mean that’s not really a big deal but you know lol. Make the place a bit upbeat you feel me? For $ 6.95 I guess you can say they are kind of worth it but idk we’ll see the next time I go there!

Décor inside is pretty bland, white and nothing on the walls. Service was ok, pizza maker couldn’t understand what we were saying half the time. Took awhile to make the pizza too, I’m just used to pizza press service. But overall the pizza was really good and you can’t beat the price. It wasn’t the freshest quality of ingredients but it’s pizza, who cares. Don’t come on your lunch break you’ll probably be late to work. I’d definitely come back in couple more weeks once they get everything down. Also stamp card, yeah stamp card for pizza. Fuckin lit.

For $ 6.95, it thoroughly deserves a 5 star rating. Ingredients are diverse, fresh, and plenty. Love the spicy sauce. Don’t be afraid to ask for more of a particular ingredient. The crust is thin so deep-dish pizza lovers should keep away. The girls are friendly and helpful. The place have only a few tables and no décor, but who cares when they got good cheap pizzas. Wish it was closer to my home.

My family’s been here a couple times, and we love it! For those complaining, you can ask for more toppings as much as you want. Don’t be afraid to speak up! Instead of waiting until it’s already in the oven to complain. I’ve seen people ask to have«everything» on the pizza. So I understand why the servers start with small amounts, because they don’t know how much you want to put on there in the end. I ask for«more» of the toppings I want and it’s fine. The servers I had were always super nice. Also, there’ll inevitably be some LA snobs complaining that this doesn’t «taste» as good as other similar custom pizza places… It’s pizza. They all taste good and the same, except this location is a little cheaper and closer to people in OC(and not decorated as «hip» as the other places, but I don’t care about decorations in restaurants as much as other people do, only the quality of the food). Enjoy!(I recommend the spicy red sauce!) Tip: Make sure you choose some crunchy toppings like green pepper, banana pepper, or onions, and not all soft and mushy toppings.

Found this place on Unilocal and had high hopes for it. When we walked in a young lady asked us how many pizzas we would like. With no signs or menu on the wall we asked about their specials. They offer a build you own personal pizza with unlimited toppings. We ordered 3. Before they ask us which sauce or cheese we wanted, they were already half way putting whatever they wanted on it. What is the point of asking what we want if you are just going to put on whatever you already have in your hand??? They were also very cheap on the toppings. Even though it is unlimited, they barely put anything on. I kept asking for more and the girl just stared at me. Also I had to repeat myself several times l, they seem like they had no idea what they were doing. They couldn’t tell the difference between their own toppings, I asked for pepperoni and she put on salami. The pizza came out of the oven at room temperature, luke warm. It wasn’t hot and didn’t taste fresh. We also ordered 8 pieces of wings, which they only gave us 5 pieces. When we asked for it to be corrected, it took 10 mins to to get an additional 3 wings. These tasted like it came from costco and was under cooked. We could not eat it. To top it off the wings does not come with a side of sauce/ranch, you have to pay an extra quarter for it. We will not be returning.

Ok I’ve been to the pizza Studios Blaze, Pieology and had high expectations of this place. The place was empty and I don’t only mean no customers, but literally empty. Nothing on the walls. Not even a menu. At least it appeared to be clean! Now the experience:: Staff was very slow and didnt seem to know what they were doing. They were very skimpy on toppings, which were placed one by one like little postage stamps and I had to request more of everythin to fill the huge empty gaps on my pizza. Crust was super thin and crispy which was okay. I did not see any wings or salad anywhere? The price was about the same as the other make your own oizza shops, so I would definitely recommend going somwhere else. I have never given any bad reviews to restaurants until now, but wanted to give a heads up to my fellow yellpies who I rely on when I consider ttying new places.

Yes there are quite a few ‘build your own’ ‘customize’ or however you prefer to call it — pizza joints. This on in particular i enjoyed for many reasons but would like to highlight two that may interest you: 1. They offer a punch card deal: Buy 6 get the 7th one free 2. They offer wings! cheap delicious wings starting at 5pc for $ 4.50, 8pc for $ 7.50 up to a party size for 50pc offered at $ 39.50(flavors: chipotle, mango habanero, hot buffalo, siracha, lemon pepper, golden bbq, sweet red chili, cayanne pepper, kickin bourbin, sweet teriyaki, garlic parm) 6.95 for your own whole size personal pizza with unlimited toppings. They really do arrange the toppings you pick evenly on your pizza or if you want upon requests on half sides or quarter Their workers were very nice and will offer input if you are indecisive on how to create your pizza! I would definitely come back

Good food, good price, great service, and a pretty cool atmosphere for my first time here. I had a very good first time experiment here thanks to this really cute girl who served me and made my pizza. She was a bit shy when I first came in but wasn’t shy when she hooked it up on the meats and veggie toppings. But her and the rest of the staff were very courteous and friendly overall. I will definitely come back and tell my friends about this pizza joint.

Delicious personal pan pizza with unlimited toppings for $ 6.95. What more could a person ask for? Right. Wings. They’ve got them too, and my favorite are the garlic parmesan. The pizza is thin crust for you calorie counters and comes out the way you want it. Did you want it crispy? Have the baker leave it in for an extra minute or two. Like the crust chewy and doughy? Try having them leave it in for no more than 6 minutes. With toppings from your traditional pepperoni to chicken breast and gorgonzola cheese, spinach, or whatever kind of Frankenstein you desire, Pizza Theory can make your dream pie a delight!

Pretty good Pieology-style pizza! Their spicy red sauce is really good and the spice kick is on point. Wide variety of toppings. However, the sausage was really nasty… Like, there was a weird smell and taste that really turned me off with the pizza… Other than that, that was the only thing I disliked! Will definitely be coming back. *I would much rather prefer pieology, but this is a good alternative. :-)

The people that works here are so nice! Service on point. Interior? Well it’s simple. Easy fast eating and leave. Okay lets get to inportance… the Pizzca. For $ 7 its amazing! Well heck it actually taste Bomb! You get unlimited toppings on a thin crust pizza. I loved the pesto and tomato for base. I got sausage and garlic… and a bunch of mushrooms. Omg. it was so good. I would take my kids here. they will have a hoot of a time selecting their toppings and more of a win win because they would be excited to eat. The wings.. I wished it was a little less saucy. But people like saucey wings. Flavors itself taste great! 5 stars overall because Pizza is amazing!

The Skinny: Your fix for Pieology in the city of Garden Grove. Environment: The layout of the place is just like a typical yogurt/dessert shop, but instead of desserts, there’s an oven that you can visibly see them cook the pizza. The place is still new so it is very clean, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of foot traffic yet so it is still«spacious». The parking is great because this is within a larger plaza that has many things going on. Service: Very friendly service! We were pretty pleased with how helpful and nice they were with us, and how accommodating they were to our order requests. Some other places wouldn’t accommodate the pizza requests we made, but we just threw it out there to see what would happen. They were great. Food: So the concept of this place is like Pieology. If you don’t know what that is, think of it as Subway meets Dominoes. Every pizza is a fixed price(very affordable) with as many toppings as you want, and they move through a line of sauces and toppings just like Subway’s line of veggies and meats. What I really enjoyed about their pizzas is how thin the crust is and how crispy it gets. The toppings quality is pretty good; it’s not like they used old toppings that are moldy, which I’ve actually seen at some other places before. Overall: 5⁄5 If you’re looking for a custom pizza place with plenty of parking spots, and accommodating staff, and a delicious custom pizza around the Little Saigon/Garden Grove area, definitely check this out. Saves me a trip from going further to Irvine or LA when I need this fix.

This place is similar to blaze pizza & pieology. They do have a lot of toppings and even a spicy version of the red sauce! Crust is really good, especially when you ask for it to be extra crispy. The pizza came out crispy and was not soggy even with the amount of toppings that I got. Service is courteous and quick! Definitely recommending this new joint!

Pizza Theory finally opens up and I realize it is the same concept as pieology and blaze pizza. The place was dead when I came through at 8ish. Nobody was in there but workers. It was almost scary. Its located between OC Lau and Sweetleaf down in Garden Grove. If you’re familiar with the concept of pieology and blaze then you can expect Pizza Theory to be the same with limited selection. I think the selection here is a lot weaker than its competitors but it just recently opened up so Im sure they’ll have more of a wider selection as time goes. The service was pretty friendly. They let you know immediately how it all works but I kinda already knew the concept. I picked up a pie and it was pretty good. Its not overly great but still pretty good. The pizza was a bit greasier than pieology or blaze is but that’s probably because I added too much cheese. The food came out quick and not bad at all. One thing they do have over their competitors is that they sell other stuff too such as wings. Its a good place. I think business will eventually pick up I hope.
