Ordered 2 nuoc mia(sugar cane) and a rau ma(pennyworth). The nuoc mia was 2.75 and was filled to the top with ice; it was literally done after 3 sips. Although I wouldn’t have minded if it actually tasted good but instead it was the worst nuoc mia I have ever tasted. I don’t know how one can possibly mess up this drink. I assume the sugar cane must have been bad but they still used it for our drinks. If they are willing to use old ingredients to make a drink, I wouldn’t trust purchasing food here thus I would never waste my money at this establishment again. I gave them 2 stars because the rau ma was actually drinkable.

This is the best food to go place in OC hands down. Why? Because this is the same owner and cook as the old Nhu Y Ca 8 Mon on Warner, which closed down 2 months ago and they moved here. Their Viet food dishes were one of the best around. Thus, now you can get restuarant quality food at food to go prices. Their Bo Luc lac on garlic noodle beats everyone in town, order it to be made fresh. I also highly recommend their clay pot catfish(ca kho to) and beef stew with egg(thit Kho Trung). Their eggplant dish with fish sauce is also unique and what I grew up eating as a child.

I called and placed an order for their special egg rolls. Came to pick them up, and to my surprise, it was no longer Thanh Thanh Food To Go, but now it was Nhu Y Food To Go. When I called them to place my order, they just answered with a «Hello», so I wasn’t aware that it was a new restaurant. They kept the same number as the old business… I’m guessing they were trying to trick the old customers to think they were the same old business. When I got there, I asked if they just changed names or if they were a new business. They said it was a new business. I was taken back and told them that I thought I was calling Thanh Thanh to order the egg rolls. The gal told me it’s the same recipe egg rolls and proceeded to tell me that they are the same price as well, so don’t worry. Ok… I say, so I wait for my egg rolls to come out. The old price of the premium egg rolls were .80 cents a piece for orders under 50. When my order was ready another girl charged me $ 1/piece. I told her that the other girl told me they were the same price. Then an older woman comes by and said ‘Oh, these are a new recipe and they have bigger shrimps, so we are charging $ 1/egg roll now’. I was pissed by being duped by these people who couldn’t get their prices and story straight. I just paid and left swearing not to come back. Overall the egg roll was under fried, they were a light yellow and still a little pink on the inside, which is not good considering it’s a pork filling. After having to bake them again when I got home to avoid food poisoning, the overall flavor was just ok. NOTWORTH $ 1 A PIECE!!! I miss the old Thanh Thanh’s egg rolls. They were my favorite.

Not too bad for a food to go place. Been here twice, great if you’re too lazy to cook!

They took over Thanh Thanh Food to go. I tried their fried rice and fried noodle and they both tasted good. Will come back to try other to go items.
