Miss Donut & Bakery

Went to this store for the first time as it was on my way to a friend house. The employees are very nice and very accommodating. Didn’t no what to bring to a New Year party. The girl in the front was super nice and was able to help buy a variety of donuts. Everyone at the party loved the donuts. They were a great hit. I was told that the store is under new management. Staff was new but very helpful and customer friendly. Great addition to this area.

If I can give half-​stars, I would actually rate Miss Donut a 3.5. Donuts are decent, but what keeps me coming back are the apple fritters and bran muffin. I know what you’re thinking. Who goes to a donut shop to get a bran muffin. Talk about irony. But where else can you get a muffin on the way to work in a hurry? And bran makes me feel less guilty about all the sugar I consume.
So what’s so good about the bran muffin here? It’s huge, moist, and has characteristics of a carrot cake. There’s even small chunks of pineapple. So good! It looks burnt at the top of the muffin, but I actually think that adds more depth of flavor. I know, I’m weird.

Been going here since I was in elementary. Shoutout to Mitchell Elementary for those that go there. Anyways, love this donut place. Friendly staff and I never feel too rush about picking out which donuts I want (I usually do at other establishments). I do not go here as often anymore ever since we moved to Orange, but occassionally when I do pass by this place, usually before/​after church I make a pit stop just to grab a dozen. Yes only a dozen! My favorites are glazed donuts and this place delivers some of the best ones in the OC in my opinion. MMMMMHHHHH Donuts (Homer Simpson’s voice).

I thought i’d give this a try since the reviews weren’t all that bad. Ugh. So let down. I did come here a little late, but being that it’s open 24 hours I figured it shouldn’t really be that bad. Guess I was wrong.
The guy working there came out from the back wrapped up in a conversation on the phone. I asked for a ham and cheese to which he said «with jalapeño or plain?» I told him without jalapeño, the plain one. Guess which one I ended up pulling out when I got home? Yep. Jalapeño.
For those of you that like spicy, he wraps the jalapeño in the very middle of the cheese and ham and also adds slices to the top layer of the croissant. So honestly it’s very noticeable which one he was pulling out. I’m assuming he was too busy on the phone to really pay attention to anything I was asking for. I also ordered a blueberry croissant which was pretty dry and plain. Nothing impressive overall.
I’m giving it two stars because it’s not the worst place i’ve ever had but the service was terrible. I hate it when a place that has no other customers present cant show you a little courtesy. Shouldn’t you be trying to win over your customers? I’m sure whomever you had on the phone could’ve waited the five minutes I took of your time if it wasn’t even that long.

This place is decent, local, and friendly. I wish there were donut holes all the time though :/

Hubs wanted to go to Autozone and this was two doors down, so at 8pm I took a walk to visit Miss Donut.
I got a maple syrup long john and a plain glazed. When I asked for the maple syrup, the guy behind the counter didn’t grab one from the group of maple syrups near the front. He picked the lone maple syrup donut back near the open door of the bakery case so I knew it had to be the oldest, stalest dough baby in there. I was disappointed but figured whatever, it’s 8pm. They’re probably all stale. And then I pointed to what also appeared to be a plain glazed reject so he could throw that one in the bag too.
In the car a minute later I decided I couldn’t wait the drive home and decided to eat it, sharing a few bites with hubs. We both agreed they were super soft, super moist, super fresh tasting. Awesome!
