So I knew recently they had a fire this year at the restaurant and it was closed and I was excited to see a review that was posted three days ago to say that it was open. But it’s not but its not as of 6⁄6. Can’t wait till it reopens.

Never thought of having breakfast here at Kayes kitchen. Dining area — Spacious. Clean atmosphere, great ambiance. Had the Watery corn beef hash, it was fine, the three was cooked well. The cup of coffee was also great, will come again.

Been a staple for GG residents. I always try to come back and support the local businesses when I can. Kaye’s Kitchen will always be a goto spot for breakfast or lunch. I haven’t had anything bad here since I was in grade school. Milk shake there is perfect(IMO). Staff there no matter the day is always nice and attentive. Can’t go wrong. Sad to hear they’re closing down.

I have eaten at Kaye’s a few times now. Cute 50’s vibe. They are okay. I would not ever say, «hey honey, let’s go to Kaye’s Diner.» It is usually a convenience thing if we go at all. Every time I have been in it seems that they are understaffed with only one or 2 people attending to customers. The waitress is very nice & keeps up okay. The food is okay. I, however, would not order the pastrami. It has a weird Mexican«taco seasoning» flavor to it. I do not like it at all. That is the only bad thing I think I have tried. Again — It’s okay!

We’ve been coming here for a year and a half now. We love this place. Partially because we love our waitress, Jean. She always attentive and personable. The food is always constant.

Food: — Eggs Benedict w/home fries: good and decent sizes. — Chicken fried steak/Eggs w/home fries & wheat toast: the Chicken fried steak was smaller than normal, gravy was a bit salty & scramble eggs okay, toast was burnt but they still served it. — the Kids Menu: kids chicken tenders with a side of fresh fruit, only came was a 2 piece of tenders &2 piece of fruit. Very small portion. — Okay for food quality — Good portions for breakfast — Mediocre for kids menu Service: — Super Slow Service — Okay Staff — Hard to get anyone’s attention for refills in drinks — Hard to place order even though they weren’t busy. Not sure if they were just preoccupied with something else? But took a while for us to wave someone down to place an order Overall: We won’t be back since service was too slow for a non busy place. But if you don’t mind being ignored after being seated and don’t like crowds, this is the place for you.

A message to the owner, that Euro Coffee that you are serving customers is discusting, I’m a big coffee lover and that is probably the worst coffee I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even finish half the cup, your breakfast is good, don’t get me wrong, but the coffee has to be replaced immediately, or you will be losing lots of customers. And I just live down the street, been living in this area for years, and other customers have told me they also did not care for the Coffee, I personally don’t go to certain establishments because of their horrible Coffee!

Cute, little 50s diner. My friend and I were heading to the Garden Grove library down the street and needed a place to grab a quick bite before we put our brains to work. We basically walked down Main street and randomly picked out one restaurant. This was the closest one that was open so in we went. We opted to sit outside since it was a nice day. It seems like there was only one server! An older lady. But she was on point and checked on every single table to make sure everyone had what they needed. Food also came out in a timely manner. I got the corned beef hash with hash browns. Decent portion and pretty tasty. What more can you ask for? Good food, great service, and reasonable prices! Nothing fancy or over the top, but it gets the job done!

Customer service and food quality is on point here. The staff treats me and my girlfriend like family and the food is always amazing here. I like the vintage feel of the environment/atmosphere. My favorite is the chicken fried steak with two eggs and a side of fresh fruit. My girlfriend likes to get the eggs with the ham steak. The ham steak here isn’t salty like other breakfast places.

Clean establishment. Friendly staff. I don’t usually order eggs benadict but I tried them and they were really yummy. I’ll be coming back. Only complaint is the hash browns are a tad soggy in the middle.

Nice 50th style place. Fish Tacos were pretty good. Prices are reasonable. Club Soda is free. Kitchen and restrooms could be cleaner!!!

I can only give 4 stars because I was only here for like 30ish minutes. I sat at the old time, nicely restored bar and had a breakfast for 1 at 8 in the morning on a Tuesday. So the place was kind slow Haha! But the food was delicious. I had coffee and their eggs benediction with hashbrowns. The branch is absolutely wonderful I love old time diners like this. They bring so much nostalgia and warm feelings to my heart when I see them. And SoCal doesn’t have many of them left, thank you Starbucks. But anyway, onto the food. The eggs benedict was pretty good, no complaints. The hollandaise sauce was a bit on the lemon side, which is a good thing because it stood out in mind compared to other eggs benedict. Coffee was your standard semi watered down brown/blackish stuff. But I love it. I know I’m not gonna get a double half caff soy skinny machiatto with 3 pumps of sweetener. Again, thank you Starbucks. No I’m gonna get coffee. Served hot. With sugar in packets and cream in little one-shot containers placed ever so nicely in front of me. I’ll have to come back for brunch on the weekend, I’m told it gets better.

I’ve been looking for a mom and pop joint for a while, not to mention a brunch place too. Well, viola I have found it. Kaye’s brings back that old nostalgic feel from the 50/60’s era that you just can’t find anymore. Its located in downtown Garden Grove and I just love the atmosphere there. I grew up about 5 minutes from it and never even knew it exist. Truly a gem. To the food; it was huge in portion size. I ordered the eggs benedict which I had never had before. I don’t know how it tastes anywhere else, but at Kaye’s(10⁄10) it was incredible. The Canadian bacon was so flavorful and fused well with the eggs and muffin attached. We also ordered strawberry pancakes and steak and eggs breakfast platter, both were outstanding. The aroma of the strawberry pancake lets me know that this is legit stuff. The way the steak is cooked lets me know that I am at home. The service was wonderful. They really treat you like family here. Everybody was friendly and pleasant. I have not had GREAT service like that in a while. Ok, dare I say it, EXCELLENT service… there I said it lol. The total amount was like 35 bucks which is cheap considering I pay a bit more for Denny’s. Love it, I shall be back… maybe for brunch(been wanting to try brunch).

Very cute area — Old Town Main Street in Garden Grove. Right across the street is an antique store with some real bargains if you spend a little time looking. Kaye’s Kitchen makes a great Eggs Benedict! Very traditional but the hollandaise had a lot of lemon, which I like. Side of fruit was watermelon and pineapple, a refreshing change from cantaloupe and honeydew! Also they make some mighty fine bacon! I definitely want to go there again, and soon!

In an effort to make sure I stay on track with my reviews, here’s the very first one for the year! Kaye’s Kitchen, I’ve lived in the area for over a decade now and this has literally been my second visit EVER! Why, you may ask? I have absolutely no idea even though my classmates in high school always raved about going since it was in walking distance of Garden Grove HIgh School, located on the Old Town Main Street. It is a small and cute little diner, situated with tables, booths and a bar counter near the kitchen. To my knowledge, I also believe they are the hosting reason for the Class Car Fridays as well. Winner, winner chicken fried steak dinner! Have you tried? SODELICIOUS, it is definitely a breakfast of champs. The employees will also tell you it’s their favorite choice as well. Perfectly marinated and fried with a thick white gravy over the top, I chose hashbrowns and over easy eggs as my sides so I could drown the hasbrowns in yolk, hehe. xoxo Amy Nguyen

Kaye’s Kitchen is a good local breakfast joint with reasonably prices and a good selection of dishes. Being me, I like to try Eggs Benedict everywhere I go that has breakfast, and Kaye’s didn’t disappoint. Typically my parents would not go to American places for breakfast but I took them here randomly once and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that I may be picky complaining about is the place has a very unassuming kind of décor, and some tables look worn down. Food and service is pretty good, though. Also, the parking lot is small and the place is a little hard to find. Overall: 4⁄5 Cheap prices, good food, feels homey. Even my traditional Asian parents liked it.

Locals spot would be how I would describe Kaye’s Kitchen. Our usual Sunday breakfast spot as we drop in here before we do our shopping at the Farmers Market on Main Street. Service can be slow if they are busy, but once you are seated and the order is placed the wait will be worth it. The real dish to order here would be the Country Fried Steak. The steak is fried to a perfect crisp and drizzled with an amazing gravy that doesn’t overpower the steak. Get their hash browns and you probably have one of the best one to two breakfast combos out there. If your in to typical breakfast fair(pancakes, eggs, omelettes, etc.) Kaye’s has you covered on that front as well. But do your belly some justice and order their Country Fried Steak. I haven’t tried anything other than breakfast here, but perhaps they have a hidden gem on their dinner menu that I may happily need to discover.

Country Fried steak was so delicious! The steak was cooked well and had a crunch under the gravy! The hashbrowns were perfect and crispy. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and they were also delicious! The service was great and the hot chocolate was creamy! We’ll be back for the stack of ribs on Friday nights!

Kaye’s is good old fashion diner. I love go here on a Sunday, when the Farmer’s Market is right there so you can stroll around after brunch. The restaurant itself has a 50’s diner feel to it, kind of like a Ruby’s. I ordered the Eggs Benedict(of course) It was delicious. The egg was perfect it was runny and gooey. The portion to ham and English muffin were just right. And they have great hash browns make sure to ask them to cook the hash browns a little longer so they are crispy on the outside. We also got the biscuits and gravy, I liked the gravy but the biscuits seems under cooked to me. They were kind of a weird consistency kind of doughy but chalky. It was strange. For a simple brunch Kaye’s hits the spot.
