Total Dive Bar that recently closed. Had good food with a real nice lady running the kitchen. I wish her the best and hope she finds another job. As far as the customers… total dive bar customers.

Once a month I come here and it’s a pleasant experience. I have one, or three after dinner and on my way I go. Bar tenders are professional and personable, if you like to come in and have a peaceful beer I recommend.

Needed to kill an hour between work(ends 5:30) and band practice(7:00). I found this joint on Unilocal in between my office and the studio. Was hoping for a bite but the kitchen is closed. Was hoping for a gin and tonic but they only serve beer and wine. Settled for a beer. Was hoping for dive bar and/or happy hour prices. The beer I settled for was 6 bucks(!), like I was in some hip place in downtown LA, not a nondescript bar in an office park in Garden Grove. More practices coming up. I’ll have to find somewhere else to kill this hour… Bartender seems nice so that earns the place a star.

Food and Beer is excellent at a great price. Perfect environment for adults to let loose and just have a good time, whether that be sitting back having a beer and shooting some pool or throwing a few darts or just coming in for lunch with a few friend on your lunch break. Love this place

Bart’s is a dive bar… and as such, «it is what it is.»(Holy crap… I think that is the first time I have ever used that expression! Ack!) The place was dark, smelled cleanish(like Clorox poured over spilled beer), and the TVs were tuned to random sporting events. Exactly as expected. In a sad way. I had a grilled cheese sandwich. How can you screw that up? It was a little too buttery for me but still very edible so winner, winner, chicken dinner! My guests had the bacon cheeseburgers. Both friends agreed that they tasted pretty good and would defiantly order again… but all of us agreed that Bart’s wasn’t going to be on our standard«go to» list. The food was delivered before any of us got irritated and the service was provided with a smile. We didn’t have any booze so I can’t comment on the freshness or temperature of the beer. But the ice tea was served over ice. And it was tea. So… uh, yeah.

I am becoming a regular at Bart’s. It is a «hole in the wall» type place that my boyfriend and his mom introduced me to, as they have been going for years. Over the past few months we have missed one taco Tuesday and we were both really disappointed. I personally LOVE their tacos and they serve a great variety of beer including my personal favorite, Blue Moon with a slice of orange! I highly encourage everyone to try a Tuesday night here and play a game of darts or billiards(pool). Everyone seems really friendly and I will most definitely continue my weekly visit on Tuesdays :) P. S. If you get their tacos, try the green salsa, its the BEST!

Bart’s is cool little unassuming bar in Garden Grove. It’s slightly dark, but its not divey. A cool OC crowd of regulars keeps this place pretty chill . They have a great selection of on tap beers, a nice bar selection and a fantastic grill. I see a stage and instruments here so may have to come back for an evening ! I’ll keep all of you posted !

When you’re full of piss and vinegar, it’s high tide to go to a place that smells like piss and vinegar. Five stars.

So I went to another place nearby to watch the College Football National Championship Game and it was so crowded that we got a table outside. It was a little chilly so at the first commercial break, we headed to Bart’s Pub. Talk about a change of scenery, 5 people in the bar and the kitchen was closed. The drinks were cheap and the barmaid recommended that we have a pizza delivered. This is a place to shoot pool, play video games, and/or throw darts. They have some TV’s, but this is not a sports-oriented place. Looked like they were setting up Karaōke as we were leaving. Very locals-oriented, but friendly!

Just a quick disclaimer here… I’m ONLYRATING the food! The bar seems cozy and plenty of drinks to go around, however, I didn’t partake of the mixology. I went inside because of a «Deli» sign hanging on the door. Now when they say«deli» I think what they mean is they have some cold cuts and sliced cheese in their fridge cuz there was nothing even closely related to a deli inside this joint. They sell sandwiches and mexican food. I tried the carne asada burrito. So far so good… then I see the lady put my asada into a microwave to heat it up! Ewwwwwwwwww WTH! Still reserving judgement I bite into their burrito and I’ve had better frozen burritos from Vons. Nasty and tasteless. Nothing fresh. The meat had been heated to the point of being stringy. Not even edible! I paid $ 7 for the burrito and I threw away $ 6.80 of it. I might try their bar to see if maybe they have some good drink specials or something, but, if I were you I wouldn’t ever order food here unless you enjoy old, tasteless, out of a can, nastiness that has been re-heated in a microwave. For the owners(if they read these things)…mexican food is the easiest food in the world to cook and prepare ahead of time and still be fresh! Asada cooks on a grill in under 5 minutes, throw in some fresh beans cooked on your stove, fresh made rice, and fresh salsa(all able to keep in the fridge until needed)…and BAM you have a money maker! It is really ez… seriously. If you don’t want fresh… you are better off buying frozen burritos! The stuff being served now isn’t even edible. Our office just moved in the area and I’m hoping things change since you are so close. I will re-visit and try again… hoping.

Decent dive. Food’s good. Service got really really slow at the end of the night. It’s a long drive home and there is no «good way» to go about it. Lots of pool tables. Big Buck Hunter. A million areas outside to smoke. A-OK

This local bar is both incognito and loud at the same time. The ample amounts of space allow this to be a perfect place to gather large amounts of peeps to drink and watch games on the various televisions in this open floored bar. However, being made for the locals means drawing a certain demographic. Let’s take a look at the good and the bad. The Good — Great prices on drinks. They usually have deals throughout the day but you can’t really beat $ 3.75 glasses of beer or $ 11 pitchers. — Great value on food. Yes, it is bar food but paying only $ 4 for their weekly specials is a drop in the bucket. — Good selection of games playing during busy sports days. They show NFL, baseball, college sports, basketball, and NHL games. — The bartenders are very nice and will try their best to give you the best deals on drinks and food. The Bad — Won’t find a very young crowd here meaning the energy is very mellow. This isn’t necessarily bad but could be for people looking for a high energy atmosphere. — The music can get really loud, drowning out any sound from the games you might be trying to watch. If you’re not a fan of heavy metal this can get very annoying very quickly. — Be careful if you’re paying with card. There is a $ 10 minimum purchase price, although the bartender can just withdraw $ 10 for you and you can pay with the cash left over. All in all, I would say the positives outweigh the negatives to this local bar. If you’re looking for a mellow place to watch sports with great prices on beer and food, Bart’s Pub is definitely a place to check out.

Just so you know, im a British guy that visits OC as often as possible as my girlfriend lives in Garden Grove. I fly 14 hours there and back. I usually have to sit next to either a) an overweight male with some kind of bladder problems or b) a child who thinks that crying will get him an audition on the America Got Talent. I than proceed to wait for my shuttle bus with every other tourist who clamber to me explaining how much they are looking forward to «fries and soda» and laughing as they run off. I book into a Days Inn hotel and make my way to this AWESOME bar. I LOVE Barts more than any other place I have ever been to. I love Bert and the Happy Hour prices and the tacos. I love the juke box and the pool tables. Please don’t think im going overboard.

Fantastic local beer bar. Great food available at the separate counter. Awesome pool tables(fast as crap) and good folks. I tried Angry Orchard here and at the risk of sounding chickish, I liked it! Pool leagues and tourneys if you are so inclined. Great juke box too.

I was told about this bar from a friend. He told me that on the first Wednesday of the month they have a pool tournament. That was about two years ago. I have been going ever since. Great food at a good price. Very nice people run the bar and come in this establishment.

There seems to be a lack of bars in the area — so five stars for hanging the sign on the door and keeping the beer cold! Excellent place for pool, sports watching and cold beer.

You wouldn’t catch me painting the town in Garden Grove, but my friend’s bf’s band, Shiner, was playing here last night and I really just wanted to go hear them play. Bart’s is the neighborhood strip mall pub that only serves beer and wine but they also had $ 2 Jell-O shots in various flavors made with vodka. I might have thrown down to play pool, but I didn’t want to show up the suburban sharks ;) Fatty and I put away 2 pitchers of Fat Tire as we listened to the band which was kick ass, but the place pretty much cleared out once they were done. I would only return here to support the band, other than that, I’m sure it does it’s job as the local pool hall/beer joint.
