Was driving by and was caught by the name/logo while hungry as hell so we busted a U and went in for dinner. This place is clearly a passion project. Owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Ordered up and was served miso immediately. Miso is probably the best miso I’ve had in years. Can’t believe it. I ordered Smoked Pork and hub ordered Smoked Tri-tip yakisoba. HUGE amount of food and flavorful af. The egg rolls are frickin awesome. Even the salad dressing is notably delicious. Where did this place even come from?! Ordered extra for breakfast the next day. I want a Krazy Smokey Teriyaki near home.

So disappointed. I had high hopes for this place given the Unilocal reviews! I feel like Unilocal has really been leading me astray lately! We walk in and the restaurant is pretty empty. The first thing that we notice is that the Coke machine has like 4 – 5 out of order sign on it. Really? All were out except for 2. I also notice that all the prices have increased $.50 from what I had seen on Unilocal.OK, whatever. It was an unseasonably hot day today. It was in the low 90s in February, so it was out of the norm. But the inside of the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. They really needed to turn on the air. So onto the food. We ordered the half chicken, tri-tip, yakisoba with pork, and endamame. I also check in on Unilocal for the free egg rolls. We wait and all the food slowly trickles out. The meals come with soup so we were first given the miso soup. It came out filling only 1⁄3 of the container that it was in. If you don’t want to give that much soup, use a smaller container. The way it was done just made it look stingy and cheap. The food comes out and I have to say, I was disappointed with all of it. It just did not taste good at all. The chicken was pale and did not look BBQed or smoked in the least. It looked boiled and unappetizing. The pork in the yakisoba was also odd. The endamame was also bland. But the worst was the tri-tip. It came out last and was a blend of sweet and salty. It was also so chewy that we couldn’t eat it. I mentioned the chewiness of the meat to the guy working there and he was apologetic. He gave me some free egg rolls on the house and offered us some canned beverages. We really didn’t want anything but he gave us the egg rolls anyway. I appreciate that he tried to make it right. I think I would have preferred a refund of my money on that one, but it’s OK. Had it not been for him trying to make it right, this would have been a 1-star review. Overall, I am so confused by the high ratings. Maybe it was an off day. A really off day. Too bad this was my first impression because based on today, I won’t be back.

This place took over the Mike’s BBQ that was owned by a korean immigrant not named Mike. Anyways, they kept«Mike» ‘s smoker to combine smoked BBQ with an Asian fusion menu. It is now the home of large portions, quality meats, unique flavor, and staff that is eager to please. An adventurous eater will enjoy their smoked pork edamame. Try it!

One of the most common questions in our family is where should we eat? We of course turned to our fellow Unilocalers for guidance. I’ve read many reviews about this place but didn’t bookmark at the time, which usually means that I wasn’t interested because of too many so-so reviews. We decided to give it a try anyway. I decided to try their tri tip due to so many rave reviews and hubby had their BBQ pork. All entrees come with cabbage salad and a miso soup. The prices weren’t bad for the huge portions. Remember, this is an Asian fusion restaurant, so don’t expect your typical American BBQ. The verdict: Miso soup needs some work on the flavor. I really didn’t taste the miso, it was more like watered down soy sauce, didn’t care much for it, but it really helped with the cold night. I’d like to see some tofu, green onion, and seaweed in the broth and maybe fresh ginger to enhance the flavor. BBQ Pork — was bland and all I could taste was the meat covered with their homemade teriyaki sauce. I appreciated that the owner didn’t use the store bought sauce or loaded it with sugar. They’re apparently aware they need to work on the flavor a bit, maybe just add some salt to the meat. They marinate their meats with natural fruits(pears and a bunch of other items which I’ve forgotten), so they’re definitely not just putting a slab of meat on the grill. Tri-Tip tasted much better in flavor and you could definitely taste the smokiness. It was well marinated but some pieces were slightly tough for me. I also prefer smaller tables so I don’t have to sit with strangers or listening in to their conversation. I guess it depends on my mood, LOL. They only have two large family tables and counter-style seating. Lucky for us, it was mostly take out customers. It was very clean and had strong ventilation so you don’t come out smelling like BBQ. Will def recommend my friends to this place and will give it a second try. Hopefully, it will be better next time and I will do a follow-up review and hope they will earn 4 stars from me.

Wow! These little niche restaurants are really becoming my favorite treasures to find. Krazy Smokey Teriyaki(KST) is a nice sized eatery in a random strip mall. They have a very simple menu, maybe 4 – 5 main entrees and a few sides to go compliment your meal. To be perfectly honest I am I am really bordering on 4.5 but gave them a 5 since they are VERY good at what they do and have the BEST prices I know of and have very FRIENDLY service. All of the attributes that make up a top notch eatery in my scale of things. Let’s talk about the food. We tried a lot of the items but still need to return to get the remainder of the food — under our belt(get it?) so here we go… 1) Chicken — Extremely tender and flavorful this is no bland tasteless protein you got from Ralph’s. This is an entire half chicken on a bed of rice that has a wonderful, light teriyaki sauce on it.(More on this later) Very delicious, very tender and overall a SUPER value 2) Beef tri tip-Strips of moist beef again laced in their specialty teriyaki sauce. The smokiness of the beef comes through because the sauce is never over powering and compliments rather than detracts from the flavors. Great stuff. 3) Egg Rolls — Had their in house egg rolls and loved them. I personally like them a bit more crunchy but the taste of the egg rolls made up for it. Surprisingly fresh with the meld of flavors coming through at each bite. I loved them with sriracha Something I wanted to bring up specifically. The teriyaki sauce /glaze. As I mentioned above the KST version is NOT the over sweetened, thick nearly bbq crossover that some may be used to. To put things in perspective this is not the Carls Jr, Panda Express sauce that some may associate with the word teriyaki. KST has a unique sauce that I personally think of as a glaze that is packed with fresh flavor and compliments the food just right. Never losing sight of the smokey«barbeque-ness», never losing sight of the fresh flavors this is a sauce that is unique and I think is quite amazing. I will be back. I will be back very soon.

Amazing!!! Yummy, Wonderful, Great, Too Too Good Food!!! Plus, we found JIN!!! You know, from Joes Sushi in Riverside, then Joes in Whitter… We Found Him!!! He has opened up his own wonderful little place here in Cypress. It’s cute, clean and his effervescent personality fills the whole place, The food, is so very good. The chicken was smokey and just fell off the bones, and the bed of yakisoba and stir fried veggies it was nestled amongst were still so fresh and slightly crispy, I had a hard time stopping, as the portion size was huge!!!(We should have shared) He makes a Smoked Pork Edamame that blew our socks off. I can’t recommend his place more highly! I drove an hour to get here and really wish I were closer, as the vibe here is so friendly and warm, with super helpful workers, it puts a smile on my face, just walking in the door. It’s a great way to break a $ 10 bill

Yay! Happy this opened near me. Have had the tri-tip and also the chicken Yakisoba… both were really good. You get your choice of white or brown rice and it comes with a salad and miso soup… it’s a little bit less than $ 10 with tax… that’s cheap. Place is easiest to get to when you travel south down Knott /Goldenwest… its a little tiny spot, and the place next it is in the midst of a rehab and has some plastic tarp over its windows so it kinda makes it look like Krazey is closed — but it is not. Just park and go inside… order you some grub and make it happen.

It was a rainy day. I was at a training for work down the street. Lunch time was at 11:45 and I was worried I would be suck in the lunch hour crowd. I hopped on Unilocal and found Krazy Smoky Teriyaki, and they also participate in Eat24. I ordered the smoked tri tip and 3 eggrolls before heading to my car. I arrived 15 minutes later. The restaurant itself is sparsely decorated. There is a long table set against the wall and two large tables in the middle. Turns out, they weren’t busy yet. Right when I got there, my order was ready. The gentleman greeted me as I walked in. I told him I was dining in instead of taking it to go. Instead of bagging it up and charging me, he told me to take a seat while he brought me my food. Very friendly and great service. The smoked tri tip: holy cow the portions are huge. I finished a quarter of it. The meat is incredibly tender. It sits on a bed of rice so the teriyaki sauce soaks through the meat onto he rice. Divine. I highly recommend the tri tip. The teriyaki sauce is made in house. The eggrolls were fresh! Nice and hot when I bit into them. There’s a nice balance of meat and veggies. Next time I go, I’m definitely going to try he edamame and yakisoba. Kudos to the gentleman who helped me: he definitely will be getting my business again based on service alone. The tasty food is just the cherry on top!

First time here and at first we couldn’t find the restaurant because it’s like a hole in the wall place but once we found it, it is actually really homely and nice inside and the staff are very energetic and make you feel at home. The menu is limited but the portion run very large. 1 box can feed 2 people. Their box comes with the meat with a choice of white or brown rice, miso soup, and salad. I normally hate miso soup but their miso soup is really good. Also their home made salad sauce is really good as well. We ordered a Tri-tip and chicken. Both were really good and if you are looking for quick, homemade, excellent food and service then you should definitely try this place.

Oh my god! I haven’t had anything like this before. This is the most amazing place for Asian smoked meats and edamame! I got the edamame and the pork was so juicy and the flavors were just so mouth watering! Not to mention the tri-tip is super tender and juicy too. I don’t live in the area or state but I would make an effort to get food here if I was ever visiting LA/Anaheim again. This is a MUST if you loved amazing smoked meat with an Asian twist!

A while back I saw this«hot new businesses» section in Unilocal. The name Krazy Smokey Teriyaki
name caught my attention. I looked a little closer and thought I used to come here when it wasn’t so Krazy. Back when it was just Mike’s BBQ and later Hickory Smoked BBQ(RIP). I used to buy bags of hickory from the old owner and really liked his 2 for one pulled pork Sammy specials. Guess he retired? I went to see what the stir was all about with my two daughters. The new owner(s?) Jin and Gabriel(food promoter) were eagerly greeting the new customers like myself who thought it was just a change in ownership. I was surprised to see it was an entirely new non-BBQ menu. However they were purportedly using the same awesome smoker for the tri-tip and chicken. Mike let use it for some holiday turkeys I cooked for the mission several years ago. They did a great job flipping the interior of the place. Gone is the cold interior and non-inviting sit down layout. Replaced with large family size tables and a more vibrantly painted interior. FOOD The new owner Jin & Gabe gave me the 411 on the food changes. They only offer a few menu choices. Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork, Tri-Tip & Yakisoba Noodles with any of the aforementioned meats. So my girls and I ordered up with a plan to try all different stuff. Yakisoba with Tri-tip … Noodles veggies & tri tip Smoked Chicken … smoked yardbird with rice, slaw and teri sauce Tri-Tip… Smoked TT slaw and teri sauce Complimentary Egg Rolls & Miso Soup
Miso Soup FOODTASTE: Yakisoba … my 9yo daughter liked the noodles and said the beef was chewy but ok. She of course avoided the veggies as all kids do. Said it was a 3***Star Smoked Chicken … My 16 yo daughter go this one but I stole a few bites. The chicken was tender and flavorful with a hint of smoke. I liked this. She gave it a 3 but I give it a 4****star Tri-Tip … I ordered this and was a bit disappointed. There was no smoke taste, and most of the meat was very chewy like it was a poor cut and cooked a while ago. Just some teri flavor. Eggrolls were ok and the miso was just a broth. 2**Star They offer up some pretty good sized portions, most easily big enough for two to split. Secondly we were offered a couple of freebies. Miso soup and eggrolls and drinks from the fountain. Not sure if that’s the norm or the new open adds. This is a pretty clean spot. Nice staff, great service. 4****Star Funny how the smoker out front is just a prop. Might be back.

*BIGPORTIONS * HEALTHY *TASTY *No saucy sweet overload. I work out at the gym not far from here and I was craving teriyaki. Found this place on Unilocal and it wasn’t your typical teriyaki place. I ordered the half chicken combo. It came with miso soup, half a whole chicken and ton of brown rice(option). I waited less than ten minutes for it. When it came out. i was like .” damn this thing is huge”. and for $ 6.99, not bad at all! I actually had leftovers that I actually just ate 20 min. ago. such a tasty healthy meal and a5 a very good price. The owner was very kind and welcoming. He even gave me two free egg rolls. now thats good customer service. I will definitely be back to try their tri-tip.

My first trip(to go) was based on Unilocal’s top suggested items: the smoked tri-tip and pork edemame. I also got the chicken yakisoba for my noodle loving 4 y/o. While I was waiting, the owner was making small talk with another couple who were regulars. They said they had been there a few times but I was surprised to find out that Crazy Smokey Teriyaki had only been open 2 months. :o I could not tell you in my life if I had been to any restaurant more than twice in a 2 month span. My expectations were pretty high at this point! I also loved how hospitable the owner was and how he told me to grab a free drink while i waited. It felt like I was dropping by a friend’s for dinner. The owner updated me as the items were made and even offered to help me carry the miso soup containers as I had two large bags full of food. His customer service and attention to detail is top notch! The second I put the bags into my car, shut the doors and turned on the engine, a overwhelming savory scent graced my nose. Was it smoked meats?! Garlicky goodness?!! I am so thankful I live less than a mile away to open up our boxes and determine where it was coming from. The hype lived up to its expectations! The portions were huge, the meats were delicious and the leftovers were even more smokey than the first time eating them. My favorite item was the smokey edamame and that addictive garlic sauce. That will definitely become a staple to the order each time I come back! The chicken yakisoba was surprising as I expected shredded chicken mixed into noodles and a few vegetables. When I opened the box there was half a chicken on top of a pile of crisp cabbage, onions, broccoli and carrots. I wish there were more noodles but I suppose the box would have bust open at the seams. :) I’ve already suggested this restaurant to 2 co-workers and threw out the suggestion that we should do a catered office luncheon from them. Clearly, I’m on board with KST! Definitely give them a try if you are in the area and are looking for a great fusion bbq. UYE anyone? :)

Friends & coworkers raved about a new teriyaki joint. After checking KST out on Unilocal & confirmed it’s a must go – we paid a visit on a Saturday afternoon(on Halloweenie day to be exact). : VENUE/SERVICE : It is located in a pretty unpretentious residential/commercial neighborhood. There isn’t a «plaza» name that I saw to where KST Is located. We went at off hours so there was plenty of parking spots. As soon as we stepped in we were warmly greeted. There’s only one cashier & Gabriel introduced himself. He asked if we have ever been to KST& gave a quick run down on their menu. After our food was done(less than 15 min wait) Jin came out to show us our to-go orders & told us everything was made in-house by them. We totally see/hear the passion in these owners! Definitely friendly & welcoming customer service. Seating wise, there are bar-like seats against the windows &2 huge square communal tables. Not a huge venue. Menu & décor was simple. Simplicity at its best! Clean establishment. I do not recall seeing any visible restrooms — so I wouldn’t count on one. Perhaps… hidden in the back? : FOOD : For the massive amount of food you get the price is beyond reasonable. Majority of us could not finish this in one seating. We all had leftovers for another meal :) SMOKEDTRITIP [5/5] — Tender, packed with flavors & you can taste the smokiness. Oooh my. sooooo yummy! STIRFRYYAKISOBA W/TRI TIP [5/5] — Not overloaded with noodles, lots of tri tip, mixed with very tasty carrots, broccoli, cabbage & purple cabbage. This plate was packed with deliciousness. Hidden beneath the foil is a small container of sriracha. My Fav so far! COLESLAW&DRESSING [5/5] — Amazing, creamy & tasty dressing & one of the best cole slaw I’ve had so far. MISOSOUP [4/5] : OVERALL : Although, it’s not very close to where I reside, I can’t wait to make another trip out to Cypress & try out their other menu items. I“m already salivating thinking about their food! KST seriously beats going to Flame Broiler, Waba Grill, Yogi’s Teriyaki & any of those chained teriyaki spots. It’s all about the MEATMEATMEAT! :D I hope they open up another KST location more towards Tustin/Irvine area: P If you haven’t yet, give KST a chance! IMO — they won’t disappoint! Gotta support local businesses :) : TIPS : 1) Self Serve condiments & beverage station 2) Take advantage of checking in on Unilocal. We got a 10% discount off our order!

I really like the energy at Krazy. I pass by them all the time and I finally had the push to go in last week. I picked up the tri-tip that set me back $ 8.99. For less than 10 bucks I got a massive portion of rice and meat that made me extremely happy. The tri-tip by itself was good and tender. Dip that in their sauce and it’s magic. The slaw that came with was damn good. I like how big the pieces of cabbage were and the sauce was light and refreshing. I’ll be back with my +1 to try the other meat offerings.

Found this place on Unilocal and boy am I happy I did! The owner was so accommodating. I brought my shiba with me and I couldn’t bring him inside so we had to put him outside. He offered to let me tie NOBU to the smoker outside(but NOBU would’ve pulled that sucker away lol). I opted to tie him to the newspaper stand instead. He brought a little bowl of water out for NOBU. So considerate.(Don’t worry, we watched NOBU from the bar.) We ordered a tri top beef plate and yakisoba. He gave us a free drink with the check-in(the fryer was down so the egg rolls didn’t come. He apologized profusely and promised 2x as much next time.) The plate came with miso soup and he kindly spit it in two for us. Solid miso soup! Liked it. The plate was sooooo filling. I definitely took the rest home. The coleslaw was refreshing, the meat was tender and the brown rice option was great! Definitely would get again and again. The yakisoba was OK. I like my veggies fully cooked when stir fried with noodles and they weren’t. The broccoli pieces were too big and there were cabbage butt pieces(the large white root parts in the middle of the cabbage) in there. Meh. I took it home and steamed it a bit more. It was good-to-go. That’s the only thing I’d fix. I’d come back! With friends! Thanks for the awesome service! I really want to check out the chicken next time

I don’t think a day went by without seeing at least one or two of my friends Checking-In and/or posting pics of this place, so of course, I had to check out the hype for myself. As soon as we walked in we were cordially greeted by Gabe & Jin, where we immediately felt and heard their passion for what they do. They explained their very simple menu – 4 main dishes and 2 appetizers. I was okay with that and what I’ve noticed about restaurants that keep a simple menu, they’re able to focus on those special dishes and perfect them. That is the case here. They marinate and smoke their own meats as well as make all their sauces in-house. The meats are tender and you can taste the smoked flavor with every bite. The portions are huge, you can easily get two meals out of them. They all come with either brown or white rice, cabbage salad(with perfect mayo/soy sauce dressing), miso soup and an orange slice. They currently have a Check-In special that gets you a free drink and an order of egg rolls(pork or veggie). These were really good too and had a good amount of pork in them. We really enjoyed our first visit and this is definitely going to be our go-to spot for teriyaki.

I was famished after volunteering at the OC Food Bank this weekend, so I decided to do some exploration around the area with my awesome friend/confidant… Unilocal App, on zee Android! He’s so swell! Well howdoyoudooodoooo? This place popped up 1st on my tummy-dar! Check-in deal: Free two egg rolls and a free fountain drink(refillable)! What a deal! Parking: Plenty of parking. Ambiance/décor: Very soothing and calm. Modern looking tables with a lot of neat decorations on the wall. There’s also a section of the wall that has all the patches of law enforcement agencies that he volunteered at. I’m also guessing the owner is a She-Hawk fan! :-P Service: Awesome service! Gin(owner) and Gabriel(manager) are a well oil machine. They feed off each others energy. So efficient… so attentive… so personable… and so informative. Food came out at a decent rate also! Food: Very nom nom nom nom! So fine and devine! I got the Tri-Tip combination which usually comes with miso soup, salad, and white or brown rice. I elected to sub. the rice with more greens. The tri-tip had so much flavor, so tender, and the portion of the meat was very generous! The sauce did not over power the smokey meat and the cabbage balanced everything out. The egg rolls were great also. Wasn’t really oily and the spicy sweet and sour sauce gave it a spicy kick to them! Will definitely be back!
