I’ve been driving past this place 2x/day since he started but never stopped. Made a trip there for lunch. This will be a regular stop when I want BBQ. Tried ½ chicken platter. Chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. Flavor was good. Had the spicy sauce. Good stuff.

When we saw how meticulously cleaned and polished Rusty’s BBQ truck was, we hoped he was as perfectionist about his BBQ. And he certainly delivered! The half chicken melts in your mouth, the greens taste like they came from my Mississippi grandma’s kitchen, and the pulled pork is tender and smoked to perfection! Yum!

Rusty’s has been a go-to spot for us for years. He recently catered a wake for us and the set-up was phenomenal. Everyone raved about the pork and brisket. Not only is the food consistently delicious, it is run by a fantastic person. Who doesn’t love supporting local-run businesses?! Thank you for everything, Rusty!

Don’t believe the hype for this place. It is OK at best they chop the brisket more than likely to hide the lack of tenderness of the meat. Better options but in the area than this place at a better cost.

We order from Rusty’s fairly regularly. We’ve tried all their offerings and prefer the brisket and pulled pork. My homemade of each of these is actually better, but takes a long time, so we go to Rusty’s when I’m not up for the process. We like the baked beans and potato salad, but reserve judgement on the other sides. His BBQ sauces are fabulous! Each diner will have his own opinion, and especially when it comes to BBQ, but Rusty’s is definitely worth a try!

Been coming to Rusty’s the last few months and consistent quality food every time. Love BBQ and Rusty’s knows how to do it. Highly recommend!

After passing by this truck for months, I decided to go for it on a Thursday evening in August. I was picking up dinner for four. Although they have their own sampler platter, I wasn’t sure about serving sizes so I ordered my own«sampler.» Beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, coleslaw, baked beans, Texas toast, and macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious! The items I would return for in a heartbeat are the ribs and coleslaw. Disappointed that they didn’t package my Texas toast, which came with one of the platters I ordered. I’ll take it up with them when I get back from more ribs ;-)

After seeing the sign and passing by so often, i finally stopped in to check them out. So glad, i did b/c Rusy’s is the real deal. side of the road, serving from a trailer — you know they love making good food and it shows. Pork was amazing and the stew was really really awesome. stop by, grab a meal for the road and say hello to Rusty & the crew.

Truck is missing, not sure they are still open. The tables are all there, but not food place. The sign is also in a terrible location. Be prepared to lock up your breaks and turn right away

Nestled in between two major roads it can be found by looking for the BBQ flags on either side of Crain Highway. We had Rusty’s Platter which was enough to be shared by two people. Customer service was great. The owner came in and checked on us after we had a chance to sit down in he picnic area and try out the food. The pulled pork and brisket was moist and delicious, the same with the ribs. We’d definitely come back if we find ourselves in the area.

So its been three years. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs and the half chicken for the hubby. Rusty remembered me from 3 years ago as well as my review. He suggested I try the string beans again. I really liked the baby backs, and my husband said the chicken wasn’t bad. He is very critical since cooking has been his profession for over 25years. The string beans had too much garlic in them for my taste.

The sampler is definitely enough food for two people! I thought the brisket was the best of the meats, but they were all very good. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. For sides we tried the green beans and Mac n cheese. Neither of them were particularly impressive so I’d definitely try different sides next time. They were closing up and out of some things when we got there around 6:30

This is legit BBQ! Very good food. Brisket, pulled pork and ribs were awesome. Sauce as well. I went with mild. Red Skin potato side tastes like its made in house(or trailer!) I recommend the Rusty Sampler was a great way to start for a variety of their meats and enough to feed 2 – 3 people. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. It’s a shame I didn’t try it sooner. My new favorite BBQ spot in the area.

This is my favorite place to get BBQ. I’ve lived in the area for nearly 20 years and only recently found this little gem! Now, I can’t get enough! The people are extremely welcoming. When it’s warm out, we’ll sit at the picnic tables and eat on site. I’ll even bring the dog. They love her!

Were there tonight and tried the sampler and the pulled chicken sandwich. I also am not sure what all the fuss is about. Overall, it was just okay. The chicken was dry. The brisket was tasty according to my husband and liked the sauce the best but otherwise it was dry. Same with the ribs. He says«eh» to the pulled pork. «More sauce would have added to the experience.» We did stop to grocery shop at Wegman’s for about 30 mins so maybe the food just doesn’t travel well. Though since it’s a smoke trailer and so is basically a take away eatery, the food should be able to travel. We also had to reheat in the oven so that probably dried it out. Definitely needed more sauce. We were trying it out because we’re trying to find a BBQ caterer for a birthday party. Still looking…

Hands down the best Brisket ever. the pulled pork is great also. potato salad, cole slaw, collards and baked beans don’t miss a beat. Cant comment on the other side dishes because I have yet to try them. Overall a great BBQ spot, portions are more than adequate and prices are fair. Update lowered rating from 5 stars to 2 because the last 3 times I was there they were out of almost everything what a waste of time

Found this little BBQ spot off of Rt3. This place is a diamond in the ruff. I ordered the rib tips and pulled pork platter. We couldn’t wait til we got home to try it… OMG the pork was AMAZING so juicy and tender. The sauce was fabulous!!! I’ve had BBQ before from many places and nothing compares to Rusty’s. The food was so good I had to go back and get more for later tonight. The service is quick and friendly. I’ve passed by this area for years and didn’t know this place existed. I will defiantly be back!!!

Dare I say… this is just as good, if not better, than Mission BBQ. Purchased the brisket platter(meat, 2 sides, choice of bread– $ 10.99) this evening and it was phenomenal! The brisket was chopped and covered In the most delicious sauce. The mac and cheese is homemade and reminds me of authentic southern mac and cheese. I also had the cole slaw and I am being 100% honest when I say it’s the best slaw I’ve ever had. I called ahead and placed my order. Spoke with Rusty on the phone who is super nice! When I arrived my food was being bagged up by Rusty’s son(who is also really nice), and then I was on my way. I was so excited to try this that I almost didn’t make it home before tearing the bad open, it smelled THAT good. Like previous reviews state, this is a food truck/trailer and not a sit down restaurant. There are one or two picnic tables outside, so I’ll definitely bring hubby next time and eat there. For the money you pay, the portions of food are excellent, and I love supporting local businesses. Rusty’s is a little bit tricky to see from route 3, so keep your eyes peeled. It’s in the median and shares a site with a Maryland DMV quick stop. If you’re coming from Waugh Chapel and hit the WaWa, you just missed it. Hang a «U’y» and go two blocks. Rusty’s will be on your left. Good eating!

The sauce is amazing — definitely a fan of that. The pulled pork and the brisket are fabulous. The ribs are good, but I like mine falling off the bone a bit more. Most of the sides are amazing. For example, the coleslaw, potato salad, and especially the baked beans — they have little pieces of pulled pork in them! The mac and cheese has a great texture, but it’s a little bland for my taste. We get the Rusty’s Platter — enough meat to split for two people, especially if you get an extra side or two — and at $ 21 it’s a very good deal in general and for bbq in particular since bbq is typically priced on the high side. Definitely the best bbq in the Annapolis/Crofton/Gambrills area. No place to sit — it’s really a take-out place, but if that doesn’t bother you then you should be very, very happy with Rusty’s. If you want to sit down for bbq, try Mission BBQ in Severna Park. It was my go-to place before I found Rusty’s.

Outstanding BBQ!!! My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. I had the brisket sandwich — the meat was very tender and flavorful. I opted for spicy sauce and could not get enough of it(will ask for extra sauce next time). Baked beans were out of this world — seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Boyfriend had a rib platter with potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Everything was delish. We will definitely be back for more and wish Rusty and his son all the best with the new biz!
