Great happy hour spot. Hand crafted cocktails and excellent appetizers $ 2.00 beers from 5 – 7, Wednesday –Saturday. We try to frequent a few timess month. The chef makes regular changes to the menu, which never disappoins. Service can be a bit slow at times. Get there early to get a good seat. Staff are always gracious. Comfortable atmosphere as well. Entrance located on Ave T behind Gaidos.

Absolutely amazing food. I ordered the parmesan fish and it was cooked to perfection. The happy hour prices on food and drink were some of the best I’ve ever seen. The bbq gulf shrimp were also delicious. I followed dinner up with the bread pudding, which I would not recommend. To be fair, I went to pastry school, so I’m a bit critical. I would highly recommend this place for savory cuisine and great drinks and a friendly atmosphere.

Excellent overall experience. Our waitress, Blanca was very eager to tend to our needs. Entire staff was very service oriented. Scallops were great. Snapper was delicious. The smoke infused ice cream was odd. Environment very intimate. Great experience for a special occasion.

Extremely nice atmosphere and a quiet place for a happy hour. You can’t beat two dollar beers and delicious appetizers for less than six dollars. I highly recommend anyone to visit the Pelican Club for happy hour. I organized a teacher outing there, and we were not disappointed.
Went last Saturday night for dinner. My husband had called for reservations several weeks ago and they told, hi he would need to wear a jacket if he wore jeans — there were men wearing shorts– really? One woman served two types of butter but another served one piece of bread but had to have someone else tell us the difference of the butters and of course no one ever came back with another piece of bread– and I noticed they didn’t ask anyone else at any of the other tables. I had a cold asparagus soup with lump crab meat, apricots and white chocolate– this was very good, although didn’t really taste the white chocolate. Rest of the meal was ok. Waited never asked me if I wanted another drink; the place was pretty empty so. You would think the renowned chef might come around… Overall an ok experience but it could be so much more.

I really enjoy coming to this place. Very comfortable environment, comfortable chairs. The service can sometimes be a little slow, and it seems we have to ask for small plates and silverware each time. I still enjoy it though! Had the crab cake, and my companion had the Mac and cheese. They do make a very good martini here, and some of their speciality drinks are very good, old school and worth trying for sure! I hope they keep the happy hour going especially for the locals who have been loyal when the tourist season dies down a bit.

2.5 stars. Unfortunately I’m going to have to lower my review. Have now come here a few more times for happy hour and dinner since my initial visit and have been somewhat disappointed. The service has been poor each time I come-have to ask repeatedly for drinks, food takes forever to come out, waiter is very forgetful, bills have been messed up, does not bring silverware or plates, etc. I could go on and on. They have now been reopen for several months and I would think by now they would have gotten their act together, however I actually think things have gotten worse. The food continues to be good, however the lack luster service does not make up for the good food.

Finally!!! Thank the heavens above for this place!!! Interesting and diverse menu. Felt like we were in a city with a healthy restaurant competition!(Like NOLA) I loved how you could identify the ethnic influence of each dish without it being spelled out in the name… very classy! For example: the tomato salad over the dates tasted distinctly Moroccan. By the taste I could tell that he didn’t cut corners in preparation. This is the kind of restaurant that you don’t get let down by. I plan on returning next week. My biggest fear is that it’s too good to be true and will return to being exclusive. Congrats to the chef… I believe this to be truly the best restaurant on the island!
