We went to see Rocky Horror Show production and we really enjoyed it. They even had survival kits to be able to participate in the show for a $ 5 charge. This made it even more fun! The actors were all wonderful and we loved the quaint, small feel of the theater.

I’ve seen two shows at Island ETC — Man of La Mancha and Misery. Both were extremely impressive. You’re talking about a pretty small stage with not a lot of room. It was intimate and close, but you didn’t feel that the quality of the production was sacrificed. The set designs were as good as some I’ve seen up at the Alley… seriously. The quality of the performances was much higher than some of the other smaller theaters in the area. Both evenings were just all around wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, I saw that the space was inundated during Hurricane Ike and was a total loss from what I hear. However, I also heard that they are taking over the Strand Theatre’s space on Ships Mechanic Row sometime in the Winter/Spring 2009 which I look forward to. I’m glad to hear that they will be going strong once again(and with a bigger space). I did hear that they had an in depth children’s program, too. I hope that they start it back up so that my niece and nephew can experience it. Looking forward to what’s next.
