It was the worst Valentine Dinner ever The waitress was rude, the food was crab. I found hair in my Wedge Salad, the fish was over cooked and my husband got food positioning !!!

This place used to be legit… It’s really gone downhill. Cool place if you’re just trying to hang out outside with your dog and have a few drinks, but don’t expect them to get your food order right the first time. This is my second time here in two weeks, and this experience was even worse than the last. After 45 minutes of waiting, my bison Benedict came out not only cold but the eggs were hard boiled(Same thing happened to someone next to me). By that time I was over it so I just got a small side salad with chicken. Chicken was cold and definitely not from a fresh batch. Come on BH!

I love the Brick House, especially their beer selection and my personal favorite, House pretzels. However, tonight the pretzels were cold and soggy. Be careful, you guys. The saving grace was the deviled eggs, wings, atmosphere, and the service. Good job, Travis.

Rude waitstaff and undercooked food. Waitstaff are more concerned with what’s going on on their Facebook and/or their phones. Definitely do not recommend!

Galveston at this time of year is almost a ghost town. We returned to this restaurant on Tuesday hoping for a quick lunch as we were there on business. At 12 noon there was 3 tables in the restaurant and several waitstaff standing around, I assume completely bored. Our waiter was a young blond guy with a «man-bun» and unkept beard. After getting drinks and taking our order he completely disappeared. Our waters empty, our teas dry. The whole room was empty and the wait staff was cutting it up around the bar not giving any care in the world to the patrons who wandered in.(I noticed that the other tables too had empty drink glasses and little interaction with waitstaff). Though my friend had a pepperoni pizza and said it was good(congratulations to throwing some pre made sauce on a thin piece crust) my hamburger was not good. The temperature was on the plus side of medium well. The biggest offense was that there was no seasoning on the patty before cooking. Bland bland bland. No salt. Gross. Would have been Much better with the processed meat at a McDonald’s or Chick-Fil-a. Bottom line: this is a chain. We are complete idiots for being in Galveston Texas and hoping a chain would get us food faster. Don’t bother. Go to a lovely restaurant that’s privately owned with a staff that cares.

Good food. Duck wings are good. Low customer service, though. Couldn’t return a drink ordered for another one. Unheard of. Management is not good at all. Trying to finish a subpar drink just so we don’t lose money, though. Apparently it’s like this even if it’s not NYE. I think I’ll pass this place the next time I’m on the island… They kick out customers before closing time! While they’re still finishing their drinks and food. The Brick House in Houston on 290 northwest freeway is decent. Go to Nick’s down the road in Galveston, instead.

Great place to relax with kids or not! The fireplaces are welcoming and the staff makes the kids feel like they’re welcome too! We highly recommend the zucchini curls and the Bloody Good Mary!

This is one of our regular«friends» meeting places about once a month. Most of the things they have on their menu are good. We have the wings, have had the tomato soup and grilled cheese was delicious. I have had the fish and chips, pretty greasy, but good if that is what you are in the mood for. They have a white Moroccan style bean dip Is on the menu right now that I really enjoy. If you order the zucchini your going to get very thin zucchini in a big thick batter. Last several times we have had great waiter he was attentive and friendly. Our waiter was unclear about a cocktail so he was talking to a female bartender about it. Although we were right there she never even looked at us. STRANGE, however one of the male bartenders recognized us and took care of the dilemma. If you want to go for an afternoon and watch a football game this is a good place to go. If you want to sit outside and enjoy the weather and the view of the Ocean, also a good place to go. When we went last though there was so much condensation on the floor we were worried one of us were going to slip and fall going back and forth to the bathroom. They need some safety rugs in the place for sure!

.I think we’ve got the perfect«hack» for this location: Start with a ½ beer bong of Shiner if there’s two or more of you on the patio if the weather permits(omg, surrounding diners were SO obviously jealous of that beer bong, but other wives on the patio seemed to want wine), continue with the Asian Duck Wraps(no, really, DOTHIS), then move on to the Bison Burger. While I’ve ordered the lamb burger and been underwhelmed at the dryness and overall flavor, that bison burger is LEGIT. The duck wraps are delicious and fun and just a little bit different, though. The first time we visited the duck was the star(we shared, happily, amongst three) but the 2nd the(dried, rehydrated) shitakes came through a little too much, adding a mustiness. However, it doesn’t matter! They are without a doubt one of the best apps I’ve ever had, and I’m getting ready to replicate them at home as soon as the weather gets cool enough to make confiting some duck legs sound like a good Sunday project. The adjacent parking lot around back is a plus, the people watching at their location on the seawall perfection, and the giant labrador that thumped his tail for an hour next to his(equally happy looking) people on the dog-friendly patio all added to the experience.

$ 70 + $ 14 tip for average experience. 1 appetizer + 2 entrees + 4 drinks Cocktails were lackluster. My side of fries seemed to be the bottom of the bunch, with not one longer than 2 inches. My mahi sandwich was good. On the other entrée, ribs were fine. Nothing exceptional with a few negatives like the fries and the bad mix drinks puts me at 3 stars.

I had wanted to like the Brick House. I really did. What their food did to that desire is a testimony to corporate incompetence. First of all it takes forever to be served even a bottled beer. When the customer is paying $ 8.00 a bottle I expect someone to prioritize the transaction. Instead the customer is treated as though it was a request for a glass of water. Then the food. Steak and eggs is advertised as eggs«any style». Not so. The cooks can’t do poached. Order the steak rare and the steak arrives raw. Not pink and cool in the center. It was red and raw ONTHEOUTSIDE! Order grilled fish and the fish arrives died out and lukewarm. Streamed broccoli the size and shape of a full crown. Salad on the warmed up plate wilting even before it gets to the table. None of the food was edible but we were still charged for it, even after the manager came over. This place is a disgrace for food. The manager is a disgrace to charge anyone for food so prepared in so inept a fashion. I would rather give away the drinks than charge anyone for this joke of a food product. Apparently I have higher standards than the management of this place.

Overall, the food is better than your average bar but still lacking. We ordered Duck Wings(actually pretty good), Soft Pretzel Sticks and the Duck Pizza. Soft Pretzel sticks were fresh and tasty but here’s where it went wrong… the Pizza. Yes, I realize we ordered a risky combo but it wasn’t the taste or design of the Pizza, it was the actual dough itself. The dough was heavy and hard almost like it was missing leavening, and it was covered in a very think layer of raw flour. So besides the food, the draft beer selection is good but not very extensive. We didn’t have a beer bong but it’s a very cool idea, especially if you’re there with friends. We sat on the patio which had great ambiance, clean and comfortable, and on a sunny day would be great to look at the water. Our server was friendly and conscientious. Overall, I enjoyed myself and I’d go back.

Brunch was awesome! Very reasonably priced and the Bloody Mary was great, deviled egg on it! The chicken fried Benedict was perfect and the smoked salmon Benedict was also great. Portion sizes were just right. $ 2 mimosas, not bad at all! Only complaint, service is a little slow.

I ordered a burger with a fried egg on top and added cheese. I can’t remember the name of the burger, something like Gunslinger I think. It came with fries. Pros: our waitress was very friendly and helpful, my husbands fish and chips were great. The ambiance was great. Cons: my burger was pretty bad. I wasn’t asked how I wanted it cooked, it came out medium but despite that it was dry and hard. I bet it had been frozen. I had to drink to be able to swallow it. The French fries had no salt. I had to add salt and I never salt my fries(they’re usually salty enough!). I couldn’t place what was wrong with them for a bit then I realized the problem. Also, the fried egg was awful. It barely had any yolk and what yolk there was was hard. The yolk was totally broken. Overall– huge disappointment.

My friend and I came here for drinks on a Wednesday afternoon, and I can’t say we left unsatisfied. The place was pretty empty for a summer afternoon, but hey, our service was fast and our waiter was very attentive to us, so it worked out for us! We ordered 3 drinks each and our bill was higher than one would expect for 3 drinks, but they were good, so I’m not complaining. If I was on a budget, I wouldn’t opt to go here. The Moscow mule was amazing! I’m going back just for that. The fried zucchini appetizer was good as well.

Horrible experience. Roy visited our table to ask how everything was as he attempted to walk away. I told him that our order was not accurate based on the menu or feedback from our order taker. Roy’s attitude and communications skills revealed that this was my problem and not his or Brick House’s. Less than ten minutes later, I told our order taker and he told us that he would see what he could do. This resulted Roy bringing us a wing 40 minutes after our arrival to correct the issue. The appearance of the wing was pathetic. I will post the picture. The wing looked like it had a bite taken out of it. Roy again had a non– service response. My decision to eat dinner with my family on vacation will never include a visit to Brick House. Thank you Roy for representing BH on our first visit.

I so wanted to be impressed with this place, but found myself struggling to see where some of the high ratings came from. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an OK place to hang and drink some beer, but I was dissatisfied a few times during my meal. First the Bloody Mary’s we ordered were very flavorsome. I really enjoyed that part of them. They come with lots of celery, pickles and olives. But the vodka component was lacking. We actually ordered additional shots to add to them. So that made for one expensive drink each time. Second no go for me — Seriously — you only have one vegetarian item on the menu??? Really? Is that even possible these days??? And not even one salad without meat. Not even a veggie burger option with all your burger choices. I opted for a salad sans the fried chicken and bacon. I loved the look I got from my waiter too when I asked for extra egg instead. He actually hesitated and said, «Um, I think we can do that…» Dude!!! I’m paying for f’n chicken and bacon — give me a gosh darn extra egg! When our salad arrived it was just basic iceberg with stuff on it. No extra egg — I had to ask again! My side of fries were tasty though! My friend’s food also had issues with orders not being right. They changed wait staff on us in the middle and they didn’t communicate with each other. So overall, not the best experience. Not sure I’d come back unless someone else in the group really wanted to try it.

Before heading out on a cruise, we stopped in here for lunch. It was wonderful. Everything from the couch/booth by the fire to the food and the service were exceptional. Our server was great as was the manager who stopped by our table. Now I know what you’re thinking lots of places do that… yeah…true but the manager actually was interested and chatted with us for a good while which is not typical. Next time we’re in town, this is where we are going!

Pretty good drinks and fast, friendly service. Food was just ok. I ordered the steak medium well and it came to my table medium rare. I don’t like returning food so I ate what i could. It’s pretty loud inside but it’s to be expected. They have a really romantic seat next to the fireplace but I’m sure everyone requests it.
