Robin is amazing! Having long blonde hair, she always did the best cut, layers, and highlights to my hair than anyone before. She is such a sweet lady, and listens to exactly what you’re asking for. I am always hesitant to let anyone touch my hair. But after our first encounter, I was hooked! She’s the best!

I went to see Andrew for the first time on Saturday. Of course, I was nervous, going to a new place/​person, but he made the whole experience very easy. Everyone in the salon was very polite and professional. I have tricky hair (thick, wavy/​curly, coarse, gray). We talked about me and my hair and what I’m willing to do to it (not much!). I showed him some pictures and then we agreed on a plan. He took off quite a bit of hair (per our agreement!) and it wasn’t traumatic at all. I immediately thought it looked great, and I’ve been getting compliments at work today. Side note: My husband usually makes himself totally scarce on haircut days… he never knows what my mood I’ll be in after. So, we were both pleased/​relieved at what a great experience this was. No drama! I’ll be seeing Andrew again.

Lauren is still the best! Even though I don’t live in Gainesville anymore, I still come back whenever I can so she can work her magic!

LOVE Lauren’s dry hair cut. Best cut I have ever received. She asks you what you want and is just great to talk to.
I don’t cut my hair often because the last lady I went to scarred me. Prior to coming to Lauren I had not cut my hair in 10 years! (I know, I’m an extremist). However, now that I know there ARE good hairdressers out there, I don’t mind coming in for a trim often. Pre-​Lauren that was never even a consideration. Definitely recommend her.

Make an appt with Melanie today! You are going to happy you did. She has cut my hair every 5 weeks for the past 10 months and she is an excellent hair stylist. Melanie takes the time to discuss the style you are interested in and she analyzes your hair each time. I always walk out with a fabulous precision cut and I love it!

I have been a regular customer here for years now. My stylist is Robin Stokes. She is just PHENOMENAL! For the price, the experience, and the professionalism you just cannot ask for any better. You are always greeted by great happy people with coffee or tea and snacks. VERY clean. I have found my go to salon and stylist in Gainesville! If you have any doubts please go see Robin, she is the best.

This is the 1^st time ever I write a review. Just because I am positively shocked. I came from Russia where women are obsessed with their looks and pay a lot to get a good cut and color. I had bad experiences in the US before I read all these good reviews and came to Lauren, Lauren is AMAZING. She does the best hair cut on my curly hair I have ever got in my 36 years of life. She is very gentle and careful, she always asks what you want and never cuts more than is needed. She is very energetic, gives her energy to you and works VERY WELL. I am very happy I have found her. I highly recommend Lauren and Salon 716 to you! But be sure to book in advance! She is very popular.

Best. Haircut. Ever. I went in with a mess, and told Melanie I wanted a wash and wear haircut that wouldn’t get in my eyes, kept the blond pieces, and looked good. She was slow, so you may have to wait at the end of the day, as she appears to give each client her full attention. She has a real eye for what will look good.

Melanie gave me a cut and she was excellent! She was very sweet and she did a great job with my hair! She was also completely on time and very receptive to what I was thinking for my hair, and she even gave me tips on how to care for my hair in the long-​run. Will definitely be coming back!

Melanie brought my hair back to life. I went elsewhere at first to get my complex bob cut, but I was disappointed and embarrassed to wear it out. Then I met the wonderful Melanie and she made my hair beautiful again. I thought I would have no hope here In gainesville, but she brought hope back:)

As any other woman I am particular with my hair. I thought the wait was short and people were nice at the hair salon. However, I asked for someone who can cut curly hair and they gave me someone straight out of cosmetology school. I decided to be open minded. But I left with hair that looked worst than when I came in. I looked like a LION with all the frizz! I unfortunately did not say a thing and this was my fault but I felt pressured because the stylist was pretty nice. Anyhow, if it’s curly hair cut your looking for you may want to EMPHASIZE you want someone who has had at least 5 years + dealing with curly hair. This experience has taught me that I should really learn how to cut my own hair instead of paying 45 bucks and finding out they did nothing for you. I guess in a way it was my fault for not saying a anything at the end as well.

I’ve had my hair cut twice by Melanie in the year I’ve been in Gainesville. She’s great — she takes the time to understand what you’re looking for and has good ideas for how to cut and style your hair to make it look its best. After a few years of wearing my fine hair in «long layers,» Melanie pointed out that cutting the layers shorter would actually make my hair look fuller, and she was right. Her services are extremely reasonably priced. The salon has its own free parking right in front, so you don’t have to pay for street parking downtown. My only complaint is that it took a couple of weeks to get in for an appointment, as the salon seems to have been busy this spring. So my advice is to call well in advance of when you’d like your appointment. Highly recommended!

I moved to Gainesville last summer, leaving behind my beloved stylist of the past 7 years and first went to a different salon based on the recommendation of a friend. While that salon did a good job with my highlights, the haircuts I got did nothing for my curls and left a lot of damaged ends. I decided to try the Salon @716 based on their Unilocal reviews.
Andrew did such a fantastic job with my hair yesterday that I practically felt like a new person. He put in some long layers as well as a few to frame my face and then blow-​dried my hair straight so I could have that «fresh from the salon» feeling. For $ 43, I’d say I got a spectacular deal. I will definitely return to Andrew for my future trims and highlights.

Mel is great! Every time I visit her, she puts in the effort in my haircut, even though it’s a simple one. She understands what looks good and can choose for me the kind of haircut I should get.

I am super picky about my long black hair since i consider it one of my favorite attributes. I’ve gone from salon to salon, my mom does hair, and multiple friends of mine do as well. As great as they may be, NO ONE has done the magic cuts & color Lauren does! Her dry cut is THE BEST, she’s reasonably priced, and I leave loving my hair even more! I highly recommend this salon, and Lauren for a sexy look.

Let me start by saying that I am very particular about my short hair cut.
I have somewhat recently moved from Southern California. It took me years to find a hair stylist out there to understand my hair needs. In short, I was pretty terrified to start over the process in Florida.
I have seen Andrew twice now. The first time, he cut and dyed my hair. The second time, he did a brazilian blow out. Andrew is extremely talented and knows his trade very well. It was like he could read my mind. He pulled the perfect color sample of what I wanted to achieve. Also, he understood and was very successful with the hair cut look I was going for. He did a few techniques that hadn’t worked on my hair in the past. He acknowledged my concern but reassured me I’d be happy. I completely loved the end result so he was absolutely right. Andrew, thank you so much for giving me the best cut, color, and blowout I’ve ever had! I should add that Andrew was very easy to talk to and he is a pleasure to be around.
The salon is great too. Very friendly, clean, and cute. Complimentary coffee and tea was a nice plus as well. Also, my best friend has had her hair and color done with the Lauren. Her cut and color came out beautiful. She did a dry cut on her. I’ve never seen my friend’s hair look as good! My friend is super pleased with her cut and color. You’ve got two clients for life!
Oh, last but not least, the price is very reasonable. Hair cuts in quality salons in San Diego can be quite a bit more. I was relieved to get a great cut and not break the bank!

I stumbled onto The Salon @716 in Gainesville by reading Unilocal reviews, looking for a higher-​quality salon. I saw Lauren there. She’s amazing – really talented, professional and caring service. She did an awesome job with a color correction and cut. She made great suggestions, and I left looking 1000% better than I went in. She did the works the 1^st time, for about $ 100 (very reasonable in my experience, she was working on me nearly 2 hours). I went back twice for maintenence – less work, so the price was less too. Overall, The Salon @716 has a nice atmosphere, good service and consistently good quality.

Best hair cut and color I ever got ! Lauren at The Salon @ 716 is amazing with color and does the best «dry» cut ever. Also, if you have frizzy hair like I do, you might want to try the Brazilian Blowout! I have been living in Gainesville for 13 years and this is the first time I can honestly rate a hair salon 5 stars.

I love this staff, Jessica gives my insane, thick, curly hair a great smack down when necessary and will do a nice bang-​trim in between for no bones.
I also sent my picky mom to Marta when she came in from out of state for my wedding and she was surprisingly pleased and loved her!
Most awesome is now living in a city where a good haircut only costs $ 35-​$ 40 after living in Dallas & Chicago where I paid $ 60 on average.
