DELICIOUS hot chocolate! So yummy and complemented the frozen custard well. The custard isn’t the best I’ve had, but I enjoyed the fresh berry toppings with the creamy custard. Definitely will go back, and to try their food next time since we arrived too late for their menu.

I ate at sweetberry’s once and it sucked. Food quality just wasn’t there. Not sure what meat they use but it tastes like Thuman’s. Anybody not using boars head in 2016 needs to reevaluate their business model. Get with the program Sweetberry’s

I very rarely give 5 stars.(You can check if you’d like) But in this case, I have no other choice. *Pet Friendly — dog bowls and treats provided *Variety of options for meat lovers and us vegetarians/pescetarians *Affordable *FRIENDLY& great service — meaning attentive and prompt *Inside/Outside seating — which is a must on sunny Gainesville afternoons *Beer/Wine menu *Good location — easy to find and on site parking *80’s/90’s music playing on the outdoor speakers *Tempeh Reuben sandwich that is out of this world What more do you need?! I think we have found a new favorite place to eat and chill with the dogs on slow afternoons in Gainesville.

At first I thought Sweet Berries only offered frozen custards, but upon arrival I found out that their menu also includes various types of sandwiches and soups! I decided to order a mushroom melt sandwich(~7 $). It came with a pickle wedge and a side(I got potato salad). The potato salad was really well seasoned and had nice large chunks of potatoes. The mushroom sandwich wasn’t really to my taste. The bottom of the sandwich was so saturated with the sandwich filling that the bottom piece of bread almost disintegrated when I picked it up.(I tried to eat it immediately after I picked up the order). I think I should’ve tried ordering another item. As for the seating area, the interior is a bit outdated but I really appreciated the artwork along the walls. They were all for sale and had price tags as well as the artist’s name underneath. I would say it’s a very nice place to study as there usually isn’t that many customers present. I studied here with ease for about two hours. The outside of the establishment also has seating but it was unfortunately raining when I visited so I was not able to sit there.

I’m really into this place. I mean if I’m being critical the food is way overpriced and the atmosphere kind of wonky, but something keeps making me come back. The custard, as would be expected, is the best of what they offer, but I enjoy a meal here as well. Oh, and the staff is great. Definitely check it out.

I would describe SweetBerries as simple and addicting. Sandwich and salad options may make this place look healthy, but considering the amount of dressing/condiments they put on the entrees, I wouldn’t exactly describe this place as healthy. This definitely is not a complaint, since that’s probably what makes this place addicting. The condiments I’ve had have always been very tasty. They never made my meals soggy, but they are definitely noticeable enough for some to maybe say that it’s too much. I’ve had SweetBerries on two occasions, catered and eating in. One of the sandwiches I had is only available as a catering option: the Augusta Gobbler. The cranberry pecan mayo was truly a specialty. It was always something I looked forward to when my office catered from SweetBerries. Room temp or cold from leftovers, it always tasted good. The cranberries and pecans are chopped up very roughly, and I enjoyed the texture they added to my sandwich. The Broccoli Salad also lived up to its reputation. Sweet, creamy, and made me forget I was eating raw broccoli!(One example of what I mean when they know how to use those condiments) When I ate in, I ordered the Turkey Bacon Wrap. If it wasn’t the bacon, the honey mustard is probably what made this wrap extra tasty. I found myself finishing the whole thing! I also ordered a Kookie Concrete custard and was unfortunately disappointed that is was served very melted. I asked for it to be served after my food was served, but they still should be able to make it so that it’s not melting when they get it to me. There definitely could be more oreo and cookie dough in it, but it’s hard to review when it wasn’t served very fresh. The service here was okay. They could have had more energy and been more friendly, but overall it didn’t turn me away. I think it’s a great place to go with friends, since the wait isn’t long, and there’s a great amount of seating inside and outside. It really isn’t far from UF’s campus, but I would go more often if it were a bit closer to my side of campus!

Love this place! Custard is great and so is their food! Their soup is to die for and their Caribbean salad is awesome. I have been here quite a few times, a really awesome spot. They also feature local artists through out their restaurant which is fun because the restaurant never looks the same and you get to see some really awesome pieces.

I love the fact that they don’t have too many options: the more options, the more difficult to decide. Their dark chocolate custard is really good. I got the Hawaiian last time, which had pineapple and coconut; that was really good also. This is a good place to go to after dinner. The seating area a spacious. You never have to fight for seats in the evening.

Try their hot fudge sundae! It is so delicious and the fudge is actually hot while it is on the sundae. Ask them to put pecans because they are a little bit sweet and it gives it a nice salty touch to it.

Loved the chocolate cookie cheesecake! I ordered that along with their Philly cheesesteak, and hubby ordered the Havana Cuban sandwich. We both got chips and a drink as a side. The Cuban was delicious! Good flavor and crunch to the bread that I look for in Cuban sandwiches. My cheesesteak was served with a chipotle mayo which was necessary for me to get through the sandwich, unfortunately. I usually like to eat cheesesteaks without adding anything to them but I found the meat a little too dry and under-seasoned for my taste. I also think there may have been too many mushrooms but I appreciated the moisture it added to the sandwich. Overall I didn’t dislike the sandwich, but after using so much of the mayo I ended up getting tired of the flavor and just stopped. They have a good selection of items on the menu that will make me come back on pure curiosity. Might be getting the Cuban next time though!

Its good frozen custard, not much else to say. The flavors are limited mostly to 3 or 4 per day and they have a special flavor of they day

Went here for lunch not knowing what to expect from a ‘ice cream place’ but came away impressed. Ordered the tuna sandwich. At most places you can expect a tuna salad made very bland with lots of mayo. You’d be lucky to guess if it was tuna. But here, what came out was a beautiful sandwich packed with chunks of tuna. It was very tasty. I was a little surprised at how basic the inside looked. I understand it’s an ice cream place, but a little decoration and attempt to make it cute décor would make it even better place to go for food.

Great place for custard. One of their main desserts is the«concrete», kind of like a Dairy Queen blizzard. I recommend the brownie sundae, with nuts, hot fudge and whipped cream. Great buckeye brownies, and huge chocolate chip cookies for $ 2.50. They also have sandwiches and hot dogs. Nice atmosphere, art that you can buy hanging on all the walls. They also have dog treats outside by the window and outdoor seating.

Great ice cream and café. I had the sunset and it was great, lots of berries! Nice patio under huge Live Oak trees. Real casual experience but would return. Good customer service.

Great stop for ice cream, outstanding frozen custard. Try the SweetBerries Sunset…(vanilla custard with raspberries, blackberries and peaches) A must try if you are an ice cream fan.

Visited SweetBerries for the first time and it is a fascinating place. The lady at the counter may have been on drugs, but she was REALLY nice and I liked her a lot. She didn’t make fun of me when I asked how the place worked and didn’t seem surprised when I asked what kind of milk was in the ice cream(cow, soy, rice, coconut)… We got a choco-cake batter concrete and don’t cha know, it was deelitcheeous! The food looked good too, I think I’ll be back for a salad one of these days. See ya then, bye :)

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a true frozen custard. I had the«chocoholic» concrete cup and it was amazing! They had a honey flavor that was also very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful when choosing what to order. I would recommend this place to anyone that truly enjoys ice cream.

Great tempeh sandwich and Monte Cristo! Finger licking and satisfying. Though it was takeout service, I have to applaud the young black lady that took my order. She was comical and gave a pleasent feel to the experience. The end though left a WOWING impression. I had stepped out to use the phone only to see the same young lady come outside and walked the food out to me — with a SMILE — this act simply caught me off guard. Thank you for being Awesome and ‘SWEETberry-licious’!!! #nomnom #heartit

Sweetberries has a very simple value proposition: for $ 10 you will get a above average quality sandwich, a side, a drink and dessert. It is very much a place to go on a weekend afternoon to enjoy a casual meal with friends or a date. The sandwich menu is extensive, and has many under appreciated classic sandwiches other restaurants in the area simply don’t attempt to make. Some of their standouts are the chicken and goat cheese sandwich, the Kansas City roast beef, the Monte Cristo(in my mind an unusually rare sandwich to find done well) and the chicken salad croissant. What really stands out is the attention to detail and quality. They keep far more breads on hand than I would normally expect, all of which are needed to properly make the sandwiches they serve. They do not cut corners. I’ve never tried the salads or wraps, but I imagine they are probably also excellent. The sides are chips or mayonnaise based salads. I personally like the macaroni salad, but it’s nothing special, and I often wonder if it is simply from Publix. The real value come from the combo option. Most sandwiches run $ 7 – 8 and come with a side. A drink is $ 1.80. For only $.30 more than a drink you get a drink and frozen custard as well. I suspect this is to ensure you never leave Sweetberries without having some custard, because this is where they truly shine. There is an excellent chocolate and vanilla, and the daily rotating flavor is usually great as well. I would not normally get custard, but that the marginal cost over just a sandwich is so low gets me to buy some every time. If you are a freshman at UF taking a girl on a first date, take her here. If she hasn’t heard of it, she’ll love it, and if she has, she’ll be excited to go.

I won’t be coming back for lunch any time soon. 3 stars is a very generous rating considering my most recent visit, but the custard and other elements of Sweetberries deserve some recognition. Other aspects are less acceptable. The employees at this Sweetberries location are usually either incompetent, oblivious, or untrained. Today I ordered the«Three Bean Chili,» as they called it, which was the soup of the day. After receiving what was obviously a cream-based soup, I tried it anyway. It was full of corn, potatoes, and shrimp. I went back to the cashier and asked what it was, considering I ordered chili. The cashier said it was«Three Bean Chili.» After I suggested it was something different(she looked surprised when I said«shrimp»), she went to check with her fellow employees. Even the others«confirmed» with me that it is Three Bean Chili. Sadly, they were serious and refused to own up to their mistake. I also ordered tuna salad, which I usually enjoy(made with apples, nuts, and celery). However, the texture today was way off(the relish perhaps). Even more discomforting was the discovery of some sort of bright blue-teal-colored material scattered throughout the tuna. The substance was unidentifiable and its color alien when it comes to food(certainly this dish which I’ve enjoyed so many times before). I would have asked about the blue material, but the employees had already proven themselves to be completely unhelpful when it comes to the food. On the bright side, my side of fruit, Ms. Vickie’s chips, and chocolate custard were pretty good.
