Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fultondale

Hotel staff very nice, but the room it self was not too clean and it smelled very moldy and felt damp. Would not recommend to come back.

Very clean… I enjoyed the stay for a week, personal very helpful and courteous, the most quietest hotel I ever stayed in. I would stay here again and let my friends and family know about this place. Easy and quick drive to any Restaurants near by. You can walk next door to steakhouse or drive across highway to wafflehouse.

First off, I want to let you know I emailed corporate for GF Hotels, and the general manager for this property, both the same night I checked in. That being said, I have been traveling for business for over 30 years, and am a lifetime première Platinum member with Marriott, so this is not a review from a one-​time travel novice. We checked into the jacuzzi suite, which was the premier room at this property. When we turned on the water for the jacuzzi tub, it came out brown, and left the tub looking like a bowl of chocolate pudding. We ran the water for 20 minutes off and on, and it never came totally clear. There were 2 sinks in the bathroom, and one of them had the same issue. This kind of offset the explanation from the front desk that they had flushed their hot water heaters that day. While we were trying to get a clean tub, my girlfriend noticed a black spot on the wall over the tub. She wiped it with a hand towel, and it came away looking like the entire wall was black. It looked like mold was growing all around the tub. The carpet was nasty-​stained all around one side of the bed with what looked like blood. The bathroom floor was so sticky my shoes almost came off. Plus the coverlet at the end of the bed was stained to the point of not knowing what color it was. At that point we just decided it was time to leave. They apologized and cancelled the reservation, but never responded to my emails. So, they get a bad review. Be warned!

We stayed at this HIE while passing through on our way to Florida. When we got there, we were greeted by a friendly staff and everything was all well until we entered our room. The second we walked into the room, we smelled a strong odor of cigarette smoke in our NON-​SMOKING room! In addition, my son spotted a heavy stream of water coming out of the bathtub faucet and it wouldn’t shut off.
We called down and the lady said that she was the only one there and there were no maintenance people to fix it. Our original room had two queen beds. She offered to move us to the only room available: One king sized bed and a pullout sofa bed. Since we had no other options, we took that room. Other than this issue with the rooms, we enjoyed our stay. It was a decent sleep for a pullout bed. The breakfast was above average. We enjoyed the eggs, sausage and muffins. The white milk in cartons had chunks of ice but the chocolate milk was really good. There was fresh fruit available. As soon as a certain food was gone, a nice lady would come out and restock it.
The employees were nice and breakfast was good. However, the room mishap put a damper on things.

This is an extremely clean and accommodating hotel. Make a reservation, because all hotels are full between Nashville and Destin in season.

Average hotel. Friendly staff. Hot water in shower adjusted so low that it was cold coming out of shower. Had to go 2 doors down to shower.

Mostly, I choose Holiday Inn Expresses when I’m on business trips in order to collect Priority Club points. I really do enjoy staying here though. This will be my 4^th time at this location and after my first arrival, I am always greeted by name. Talk about southern hospitality! The only thing that it’s lacking is Wi-​fi and a more consistent internet connection, but the staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. Look forward to staying here again!

Affordable. Accepts pets. Easy access from highway. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast selection in the morning. Will stay again for sure.
