Super Mex Restaurant & Cantina

Been coming to this place for ever. The food is always delicious. Beans seasoned perfect just like mom used to make. Hand rolled enchiladas are wonderful with just a hint of spice making all the flavor pop in your mouth. I would recommend this place to any looking for good eats!

I have never experienced this bad of a service until I came to super mex. We started of ordering drinks then after that our «waitress» never came to check if we were ready to order waited about 25 mins until I asked one of the bartenders to take our food order she was HORRIBLE never coming back to this place. After one of the orders that came in we found some sort of paper in the food we got a new plate but the manager never came to talk to us about it or apologize for what we found. Also I placed an order to go and asked for rice and beans for what I order only to find out that went home with only the tacos and no rice and beans that I paid for worse place overall

I ordered the chimis they were good but they came out cold had to wait an hour for appetizers regardless the waitress said they would give us a discount check came no discount we asked if we were getting our discount and she said let me get the manager but we decided to leave because they were taking too long so I start heading out to the door half way there I see the manager and waitress hiding waiting for us to leave what a shame cause the chimis were pretty good sucks they have shitty managers.

People at work kept hyping up how good this place is. It’s good, but a far third from Taqueria de Anda and Camino El Real if I were to choose between the Mexican food joints in my hood.
Service is nice-I’ve ordered pickup twice and they are always fast and courteous.
I ordered a burrito (not wet) with beans instead of rice– the rice was really dry and so was the beef. The flavor was a little lackluster… and the guacamole I ordered on the side was plain.
When I crave Mexican I want meat that’s juicy, spice, tartness and really good flavor.
My friend/​coworker who is picky and doesn’t like onions, spicy food, or cilantro, loves this place… I think that should have been my red flag, lol.

This is probably my favorite super mex. I order takeout for lunch about 1x/​month. Their service is fast, food is good. From the time I call in my order, my food is always ready in like 10minutes! I don’t stray far from the #14. Whenever I have eaten in the restaurant, it’s always been a good experience as well.

My girlfriend suggested going to this restaurant. She had been there many times. I didn’t know what to expect. We waited for about 10 minutes until we got seated. Probably because we had a big group. We got seated with a bowl of Pico de gallo and tostadas. We finished them and our server brought more. Kudos for that. The jamaica was good but a bit sour. They give refills on Aguas frescas too. Huge plus for that. I ordered the chimichangas plate. It was so delicious. I went for the shredded beef. The meat was moist and tender. Comes with rice and beans. Both were awesomely good. My girlfriend ordered the wet burrito and that was amazing too. I can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes.

Service is so bad, waiter didn’t even ask if everything is ok, we ask for lemon didn’t bring until the 3^rd time we ask.

This is one of our families favorite Mexican food restaurants. I had the chicken fajita bowl today and was very happy I made made the selection. Generous portion of chicken and the vegetables were fresh. Super Mex never disappoints!

When you walk in, you are warmly greeted and promptly seated.
Our attendant set us up by the window. Kudo’s for fine customer service!
You are promptly brought a basket of chips and their yummy pico de gallo.
I ordered the combo plate of a taco and chicken enchilada, comes with rice and beans.
After a reasonable time your plate arrives, looking very good. Their red sauce is amazing and the rice is slightly moist and the beans are good too. The chicken meat in my enchilada was
ok tasting, but not much was provided. The carnitas taco is a winner; it was served in a warm corn tortilla and packed with moist, yummy carnitas.
Many restaurants could learn about customer service from this restaurant.
It was so nice to be treated to a lunch by a good friend; and this place satisfies.
Décor: nice place, plenty of windows.
Their flagship store — in Fullerton. It’s a good place for parties; their bar is nice too.
The bar: we mosey’d over there after our lunch and blessed our bellies with a cold Modelo Negra frosty. The tall bar chairs are sturdy and have the cool old world thick leather seat covers. You feel so bandito sitting in them!!! Beers are $ 4.50.
Customer service: excellent.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I think this place is okay. The food is good but nothing to spectacular. Some items on the menu or decently priced and other items are, in my opinion, way overpriced for what you get. I got a plate of two chimichangas that come with a side of rice and beans for a little under $ 10. The chimichangas were a little salty but everything else tasted good. I only come here with my co workers after school for a get together but other than that, I probably wouldn’t come here on a regular basis. If I really want mexican food, I would go to a legit taqueria place.

Asado salad really great… michelada was perfect… the place is really busy so I can tell the food is good seem to be a lot of regulars here my boyfriend I sat at the bar and we’re very happy with both our plates Services was great every time we asked for something the servers were happy to bring it to us

I always equated Super Mex with fast food, like Rubio’s or Baja Fresh. Imagine my surprise to see a cool dining area when I walked in!
We came for lunch. All the meals came with beans and rice. We started with iced teas and sodas. The combination plates have a lot of variety so everyone can get what they want. I chose the 2 cheese enchilada special (I’m not the biggest fan of shredded chicken), with refried beans and rice. The bf got chicken and beef tacos and his mom got the chicken tostada, while his niece chose from the kids menu – chicken tenders and fries.
The corn tortillas and salsa that comes to start was pretty tasty. I didn’t want to fill up on that so I ate sparingly. Food took a while to arrive but it was so fresh! I devoured my enchilada plate; actually we all enjoyed our food so most of the meal was silent.
Everything was perfect, so I look forward to trying more dishes here!

Great authentic Mexican food with a slight twist on regular plates of food to make it the Tex/​Mex style. Personally, the enchiladas and burritos are always a hit; chili relleno burrito is an honest must try. Like the chili fits the whole size of the burrito, huge.
But so far, everything I have eaten here has tasted very good. If you haven’t given it a try, check it out.

Food is very good but this review is based on how friendly the staff was specifically Leticia and Monique in the take out area. They went above and beyond to make sure the order was right. Will definitely come back again and highly recommend!

This was my first time here. I got there chicken enchiladas and rice and beans. It was really really good. The rice is sooo good. I need a bowl of that by itself. The host was great!

I really liked this place. The food was good, service ok, price was amazing. I am so going back. This was my first time there. The shredded chicken is amazing. Tacos were great. The cheese enchilada needs work. I don’t recommend enchiladas.
But for two adults and two kids, it we cheaper than going to Chick Fila.
Going back soon.

First time here at this location… The chips are cold! The super mex in Los Alamitos has wonderful hot chips for your salsa that my husband and I eat them up!
This place needs a lesson from their other location… Waitresses seem to stand by the counter and talk. The service at Los Alamitos is more at tentative …

I love burritos. They’re filling, loaded with goodies inside, and wrapped up with a warm tortilla. What’s not to like? My boyfriend loves Super Mex for their gigantic burritos. I’ve been here a few times now and I think I can say that they are very consistent when it comes to their burritos. Their service is good too whether you are dining in or taking food to go. I’ve never tried anything else on their menu besides their burritos because I don’t have to! Or maybe it’s just I really enjoy their free chips and salsa. It’s actually delicious and I think I eat more of that than the actual burrito itself.
We get the Super Mex Burrito. It’s basically a humongous burrito filled with your choice of beef, avocado, beans, lettuce, cheese and topped with a sauce. I think the shredded beef tastes better than the chicken but old habits die hard and I usually get the chicken burrito. My boyfriend could actually finish his burrito but i usually eat half and eat the other half the next day. I also drown it in their very delicious salsa and eat my weight in corn tortilla chips. It is an extremely heavy meal though so I wouldn’t indulge. I always feel really heavy and weighed down after eating here.
I saw on their menu that they do have some healthier options but for me personally, if I’m going to eat Mexican food, I’m just going to eat my entire caloric intake for the day in one meal. It’s worth it in my opinion! Super Mex isn’t the fanciest or the tastiest Mexican food I’ve had but it definitely hits the spot. ⁴⁄₅

They serve fantastic Mexican food here. I highly recommend the chili relleno. Also the free chips and salsa are amazing. Cone here if you want awesome mexican food!

Super Mex is always a fav. Glad I got to come back and have a Chile Verde Super Mex burrito. Brought back lots of great memories. This location is not my favorite but the service was very good and the food was too.
I prefer other Super Mex locations, like Long Beach on 2^nd Street. Just part of the nostalgia for me. This location seems to be more suburban sprawl type of every day Mexican place… but don’t get me wrong I still enjoy it.

I got un combinacion de chile relleno, un taco, arroz y frijoles. Unfortunately, this was supposed to be a spicy chile relleno and I had to get up and ask for some hot sauce (Tapatio and Tabasco only) and douse the sucker to get any kind of heat.
Although, I must say, their chips and salsa were pretty damn good.
