I’m sitting here watching my waiter run around trying to handle the tables. He keeps apologizing to all the tables around me due to the long wait. They are obviously understaffed. I feel sorry for the poor guy. The food is always good but they can’t seem to keep up with the crowds. Oh yeah, and I really wish they served queso blanco here in TX. Apparently OTB has it in other states.

I sat on the patio at 1:48 p.m. At 2:05 the server had walked past me 4 times and never spoke. When I was getting up to leave a server from another section asked if I had been helped. When I said no he immediately said he would be happy to help. He was wonderful and continued even though he was slammed in his section. Too nqd his coworkers are awful. My server gets 5 stars. Food gets 3 stars. The server that was supposed to help me gets 0 stars, hence the 2 star rating.

We waited 20 minutes for a table, then 10 minutes for a waiter and another 5 for water. It was extremely crowded and loud(Friday night) so we couldn’t hear/talk to each other at the table. The trash bin in the ladies’ restroom was overflowing and there were paper towels on the floor out into the hallway. My food came out cold. So after a long wait my dinner was not edible. Cold refried beans are the worst. There was a manager lady walking around checking on tables. On our way out I mentioned that the food was cold and the bathroom is a mess. All she said was«thank you.» Definitely will not return.

Why the negative reviews? Really. We love this place. I come here with my husband once a week usually. Sometimes we sit in the bar, sometimes we sit in the booth. Sometimes after work and sometimes on our mutual days off. The salsa is always delicious, the margaritas on point and the fajitas… to die for :) My only recommendation… Please improve and expand on your chile relleno’s.

This place got a Plain Chicken Taco wrong. They left the food tray holders in front of our table(that’s a tripping hazard) and they weren’t busy when they took an hour to give us food. I do not recommend this place

Another place my husband wanted to try to see«if it has gotten better» We went a few weeks ago. the day after the Holly Holm and Ronda fight. I say that because we talked UFC with the waitress who was a fighter in training. Cool girl and good waitress. Prior to the recent visit, I can’t even remember when my last visit to OTB was. It’s been awhile. Big chips, decent queso, salsa wasn’t bad just very spicy. I got the steak fajitas. They weren’t bad. They had a lot of flavor to them.

Good service! I had the brisket tacos, which were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the charro beans.

Loud. Longer wait than what the hostess told us to expect for our table. Extremely over crowded to the point that an order of fajitas being taken out to the booth behind us almost was placed so close to my friend that the skillet almost burnt his elbow. I got a burrito, and it was completely split open on the bottom when I got the plate, so I ate it with a fork and knife. The manager got in an argument with me and my friend. The customer is not always right according to this staff, apparently. I was really disappointed as won’t go back.

if you want good tex mex run anywhere else! After waiting 30 minutes for nachos with no beans we were served navhos with beans. After taking one bite, we hailed a passing waiter and he took our order back to the kitchen. He was not our waiter as our waiter was hard to find. The manager came out and apologized and said our order would be out shortly. After another 20 minutes with no food or waitstaff in site, we left. Lucklily for us we had not ordered any drinks or appetizers, so we did not have to wait for a check. We had not been there in a year, and I remember why now. I gave a one star as negative stars are not an option!

Manager refused to take coupon for free bowl of queso on my wife’s birthday after spending almost $ 50 on an order. We’ve had other mediocre experiences at this location and we won’t be returning as this last experience was the final nail.

Let me start by saying I have a had a few bad experiences here. Last week I was off Bryant irvin for some business and I decided to give it another shot(was craving enchiladas and a margarita). I met a great young man by the name of Daniel. I don’t know why but he reminded me of just an old buddy. We started talking about the menu first, then about some personal stuff(I’m very outspoken). By the end of my meal I felt like I had told my life story. Considering some things I’m dealing with in my life it was nice talking with him … The food was delicious. I told him I thought it was bland the last time I are there. He recommended I try the hatch green enchiladas and to try cilantro lime rice instead of regular Mexican rice. WOW! Something I would have never tried ! It changed my whole opinion of On The Border, food and service. The margarita with an el toro shot hit the spot as well! I look forward to frequenting this establishment more frequently now. THANKYOU Arnold Billings

Bland. Not as good as I remembered. Tried to see if it improved but it didn’t. Got fish tacos toppings were good but the grilled fish had no flavor. Rice was plain.

I’ll get straight to it! Pros: Clean restaurant, good chips and salsa, extremely friendly staff, good happy hour prices Cons: Their hours posted online(official website, Unilocal, and Google) do not match up with hours they enforce. We dined here last night, walking in around 9:50. We were quickly told by our waitress that we had to hurry to get our order in because the kitchen closed at 10:00pm. We were confused as to why the kitchen would close at 10, but the restaurant didn’t close until 11pm. We felt horrible because we were there sooo late. We would never show up to a restaurant 10 minutes before closing to dine in, yet alone get take out. Our waitress, Lindsey, was so pleasant about the entire situation. She apologized for the hours being mismarked and told us to enjoy our time, not rush and stay as long as we want. She made the experience great for us, and she is a reason we will return in the future. There is better Mexican food to be had in the area, but the service and cleanliness o the restaurant give them a 4 star! The cheese and onion enchiladas lack flavor, however the spinach and mushroom enchilads have fresh spinach and shrooms! You can absolutely tell the difference between them using fresh and other restaurants using frozen or canned veggies! We will return!

We stopped here after a long day out. I had never eaten here but was told they have Carnitas.(Ever since we moved from California we have yet to find«acceptable» carnitas in DFW) My husband ordered the mini tacos with carnitas and he really liked them. He said it was as close to the kind we are used to eating so that was a big plus. I didn’t like the tomatillo enchilada plate at all but my daughters fish taco plate was very good. The picky one is my son and he actually said the meat quesadilla he ordered was very good. What was super awesome was the manager coming over to offer me a replacement because I didn’t like the enchiladas. The service was great so I would go back and order something new.

The décor is very nice in here. They seem to always been under staff. There is some staff members that are just outstanding. The older Mexican gentleman was checking on every table around him not only his own. Our server was a little informal in the way she talled to us. The hostess were quick. The specials are always good.

My last meal in Texas and I was dying to try something that seemed TexMex just to see what folks rave about. I grew up in Los Angeles… so let’s just say that I KNOW Mexican food. We came here as a party of 9 or 10 so I expected things to be a bit slow… but 1.5 hours later I was stuffed on the free chips and salsa and we were served COLD food. And not only cold, I think I ate the worst tamale OFMYLIFE. It was this dark brownish thing that was scarcely larger than my thumb. THAT was a tamale? OMG. OMG. *I* can make better tamales on my worst day. Refried beans were cold and HARD. You’re supposed to cook the beans until they are nearly smooth and very creamy. Canned Rosarita beans would have been by far better. My pulled chicken enchilada was cold and covered with some funky look white stuff(cheese? cream sauce?) that looked so gringo that I pulled out a bit of chicken. Blech. I ate about three bites of my food and called it a night. Never again. AVOID.
