In general I love Mediterranean and specifically Greek food. I grew up in Chicago, so I definitely have a preference towards Chicago style. For awhile it seemed almost impossible to find good Greek food in Dallas, I have recently found a few good ones, but none that were great or quite what I remembered from home. My parents recently moved here, my dad is even pickier on his Greek food. They went here first and really liked it, so they brought us along for the next trip. Service was great throughout the visit. We were seated right away and our drinks were never empty. We started off with saganaki, which is a perfect cheesy, salty starter with great pita. Which you also get a little show. My mom and I had both had the gyros with the green beans and Greek potatoes. It was a huge portion. Both sides were flavorful but the star was the gyro. The gyro had good crispy bits which I like. The tzatziki was very flavorful, probably the best I have ever had. My Dad has the lamb kebab which was tender and also full of flavor. They do not skimp on the seasonings, exactly what I want with my Greek food. My husband had the steak with rice. I was very surprised how great these were and would probably come back just for this. The steak was super tender and crazy flavorful, insane quality for the price. The rice was very buttery and a great compliment. We will definitely be back.

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed! If you’re looking for a quick bite, this is probably not the place for you. I ordered the chicken souvlaki pita sandwich and it was delicious! The meat was tender, the vegetables fresh, and the pita soft and warm. My only complaint was that the tzatziki was not spread enough and I only tasted it in my last few bites. We also ordered the Baklava sundae. The reason for four stars instead of five was because the Baklava wasn’t warm like it said it would be on the menu. I’ll definitely be back to try it again though!

I arrived around noon on a Wednesday, and it was PACKED. My friends had gotten there a bit earlier and were told the wait would be 10 min. The wait ended up being less than that though. However, if you’re in a lunch rush, I wouldn’t suggest this place(but come back another time!). The service is wonderful. They were quick to take our order and very friendly. I ordered the original gyros. It was BIG, very filling, and delicious! The pita was softer than what I’ve had previously in Greece, but nonetheless warm and good. The only tiny complaint is that the tzatziki was generally in the middle rather than throughout the gyro(I guess not really a complaint but would have been better if it was spread throughout). I plan on coming back and trying more things from their menu.

Wait was a little long but totally worth it. Loved the food and the service. We ordered the moussaka and it was amazing.

We have dined in and ordered to go. Our experiences have been good. We love the lamb, vega platter, gyro, dolmas, and cucumber yogurt dip. It is always crowded here, so obviously the food is good and it is a popular weekend dinner spot. Their food, service and atmosphere are not«wow», deserving of a 5-star rating. It is not the best ever Greek food I have had. However their food is good and service is consistent.

Love Platia. I’m from Chicago and was so happy to discover this restaurant when we moved to Texas. Feels like I’m eating on Halsted. Yaya’s Chicken always a winner. Love the lamb and chicken souvlaki. Really can’t go wrong with anything. Also love that it’s BYOB. This restaurant is on our regular rotation. Yum!

Tried it on a friend’s recommendation. Tried tzatziki and aegon stuffed pepper for appetizers and mana mou for the main course with Greek potatoes, rice and beans. Perfectly cooked meat. Great taste and service. Also got to say«oppaaa!» ;)

Great service and exceptional food. This is my favorite Greek restaurant to visit in the Metroplex. The servers are very good at their job and the owner is very conscientious about his guest’s experience. I cannot express how great the food is. If you’re going for dinner, be sure to skip lunch because you’ll want to eat as much as you can here. Can’t wait to come back next time!

They serve delicious Greek food. The service was very attentive especially for a full house on Sunday. We ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and Gyro sandwich for lunch. They both were very tasty and we love their side order of green beans and french fries. We were too full to try the desserts so we will be back next time!

Love LOVELOVE this place!!! I have lived in the area for 7 years and have passed by not really giving any real thought to stop and try until recently. My husband and I get the chicken, lamb and yiro platters as are regular options. The Greek salad is the best I have ever had and all the meats are fresh and healthy as the are not loaded with a bunch of crap. If you want a healthier option for lunch dinner I would definitely make this one of your stops.

Good place for«Greek» grub, and fairly authentic. The Mana Mou platter is a very good sampler with Pastasio, Dolmades, Shish Kebab(not so greek), and sides. It is likely more Arabic/Muslim than Greek(Greek muslims?), since what would normally be pork souvlaki is here instead chicken souvlaki and pork is nowhere on the menu. But it is still quite good.

Wow! Let’s start with that. The absolute best Greek food I have had since moving to Texas in 2008. The service was 5 star. The portions were two meals in one. The flavor were so incredible that it didn’t matter if I had my green beans, potatoes or meat. So delicious! The place was packed. Will be a regular quickly! Ed R

I wonder why this place doesn’t serve pitas at all times. They only serve it part of the time, which is weird. I ordered the gyro pita with fries and my wife ordered the chicken pita with greek potatoes. The amount of meat in the gyro pita was overwhelming. I felt guilty with starving children in the world. The greek potatoes were disgusting. They had a very strong lemon flavor, were hard, and obviously undercooked. The fries were nothing special, I can’t even remember them. My wife’s chicken pita was also not memorable, not good, not bad, just food. As a side note, if someone in the restaurant orders the flaming cheese, it will reek of that burnt cheese smell for at least 15 minutes after. Even if they’re sitting on the other side of the restaurant. I like cheese, but that smell was a bit much for me to take.

Date Night Winner! My husband and I had wanted to visit this restaurant twice before, but it was worth the wait! On a Saturday evening we were ahead of the dinner crowd at 6pm and got seated right away. It was already buzzing with customers, however it got busier as the evening progressed. The waitress was lovely to us and very helpful. We eat Greek/Mediterranean food often, but we still like to be adventurous and try new things we don’t recognize. The Turkish Espresso for instance was very different. It must be consumed quickly, is slightly sweet, and stopped before you reach the grounds about halfway to the bottom.(You’ve been warned!) We tried the sampler for our entrée and split it between the two of us, which was the perfect amount of food(plus some leftovers) and a great affordable option. The lamb was perfect, the hummas delicious, the tzatziki sauce a hit, the stuffed grape leaves were wonderful, with a hint of lemon in the rice and meat. We loved the green beans in tomato sauce and the greek potatoes. The Greek«Lasagna» was good, but maybe less(gelatinous) cheese on top?(Texture-wise its just too much.) The pita bread was good, but more is needed for the amount of lamb and hummas they give you. ;) What a fun place to take your family or friends for a fun time :) The flaming cheese appetizer is something we will undoubtedly come back for, just as we simply must try the chocolate cake! Opa!

We been here several times but tonight the food was average. There seems to be a level of freshness going away. Pita bread not as fresh either… almost as if it’s been sitting a while. Had the feta and kalamata olives as appetizer and then shared Mana Mou. We do love the fact we can bring our own wine for a modest corkage fee of $ 2.75.

Food(5⁄5) I may not be able to afford a trip to Greece, but Platia certainly makes my tummy feel like it’s in Greece and wow wow wow. I can’t believe I didn’t find this place sooner! Tucked in one of the strip malls on Gaylord next to Stonebriar Mall, Platia offers up HUGE portions of delicious Grecian fare without breaking the bank. For lunch, I ordered their gyro platter for ~$ 11, and I couldn’t believe the mountain of gyro meat I was served. It was delicious and I admittedly over-ate my normal capacity because it was just that good: extremely moist and well-seasoned. In addition to the gyro(or any entrée order for that matter), Platia provides you pita bread(the softest, most heavenly pita I have EVER had) and two side dishes to accompany your main entrée. For my sides, I opted for Greek style rice and the roasted potatoes. The potatoes were in a sauce that was a bit sour for me, but the Greek rice was lightly seasoned and perfect. Note to self: Save ½ the gyro platter to take in a to-go box for a future meal. The lunch platter is enough for multiple eating sessions! Service(3.5÷5) Nothing super special in terms of service — just your typical wait service. The waiter comes by and takes your order, and then the waiter will bring you your food. She wasn’t extremely personable, but it wasn’t off-putting enough to ruin my meal. Atmosphere(5⁄5) Such a sweet and homey feel to Platia! Interior décor is abound with light brown tones, and our party was seated in a further interior space that was nostalgic of a garden or vineyard as plant décor hung from the ceiling. The only thing that may deter visitors is the heavy feta cheese smell I had encountered during my visit. I feel like this is to be expected as Platia is a Greek restaurant after all, but just something to be wary of if feta is too pungent for your nose. Bottom Line Cute, homey Greek restaurant that serves delicious Greek fare. I can’t wait to come back to try things other than the gyro(I’ve got my eyes on you, baklava cheesecake)! My only forewarning is the strong smell of feta cheese, but hopefully it doesn’t bother you to begin with if you were looking to eat Greek food. :)

4.5 stars on Unilocal with 400 reviews? I knew I had to check this place out and it did not disappoint. Got the original yiros(gyros) pita sandwich and a side of french fries. Everything was perrrrrfect. The sandwich is PACKED with meat! The gyro was awesome and not overwhelmingly salty like at some other places. The texture of the pita bread was soft and tasted bomb. It’s topped with fresh onions and tomatoes and dat white sauce(tzatziki)! After I finished it I wanted another one(I have a big appetite). The side of french fries is quite large. For $ 2.50 you are getting a massive amount of french fries. Those are awesome too. Thanks for a great lunch, Platia! And for less than $ 10 too.
