We don’t frequent this location for a reason. They are always out of something. Last time they were out of udon noodles, this time they are out of eggs. I doubt we will re visit ever again… this place is way over priced to show up and they are out of main ingredients. And now they tell me they don’t have sour cream or cheese anymore. We definitely won’t be back.

I think my server, Michael, forgot about me… multiple times. I’ve never been here before and I aimlessly wandered around trying to figure out how to do the thing. I saw what I assumed to be my food sitting on the counter. I waited for about five minutes and then wondered if I was supposed to get the food myself. or if it was even my food. So I got up to check, and it was mine. As I’m grabbing it, a man taps my shoulder and says«I’ll bring it to you ma’am», but I was already there with the food in my hand, so I just scurried back to my table(My table was right next to cooking area). I then proceeded to sit and stare at my food. I had no silverware. After observing Michael for a little while, he appeared to be new to serving. When I asked for silverware, he told me they were understaffed. After waiting tables, I understand when that excuse is acceptable, but not when there’s five tables sat in the restaurant. It seems your managers knew what they were doing when they made the schedule.

Can you give negative stars!?! My wife and I came in on a Sunday night and have been in before to the same location and a couple of others over the years. My wife went to wash her hands and said the bathrooms were disgusting. We went through the line and made our bowls behind a not so long line of other customers. When we got to the Tongs for the meat they were slimy and sticky like they hadn’t been wiped down in days. We finished making our bowls with the veggies and picked cabbage as our finisher from the very friendly young man at the grill station. That is where things went bad! I received my bowl from a different server than we had dealt with previously. I stirred my bowl and took a bite and realized it was not my bowl at all. I told the new server and he disappeared. My server came back by and asked if everything was ok. And noticed my wife’s bowl had not made it out yet. I told him that I had tried the bowl they brought out and it was not mine. He asked what I had in my bowl and took the one they had brought out to me. I watched as he walked over to a table where the gentleman who had been in front of me in line was sitting. He had the wrong bowl as well. I had left my fork in the bowl they brought to me and I watched as the server took my fork out before approaching the other gentleman and asked if that looked like his bowl. And then he gave them the bowl they had delivered to me and took the one he had been incorrectly given. The server then brought that bowl to me and asked if this looked like my order and it did. I told him yes and then he began to set it down on the table and leave. I stopped him and asked if they had picked that bowl up from the other table after he had served it incorrectly and let the man try it. He said no but I had just seen him do exactly that. He said«no they had only barely brought it out!». I asked if it sat there at all while they weren’t at the table and he changed it and said«it never made it to the table». Total lie. I said that is incredulous and we were going to leave because that was disgusting to let people try the bowl and then attempt to serve them someone else’s food. NOTACCEPTABLE! We will never return to this GG in the future and may have to skip the whole experience in lieu of better service and better business practices. Very disappointing to see from such a great restaurant. But this is the kind of misbehavior that can cost you a lot of customers. It certainly did for us.

Wretched customer service and clueless management. My husband was having a business lunch here and I met them to drop off a Christmas gift for his office. GM comes over and confronts me, doesn’t even take 2 seconds to inquire about the situation — just launches straight into«Ma’am, I’m sorry but we don’t allow soliciting in the restaurant.» I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and was totally sure I had misheard, so I said, «Excuse me?» He repeated«we don’t allow soliciting in the restaurant» and asked me to leave. Let me be clear in case you don’t understand the picture I am drawing: In front of my husband… and his colleague… who are dining(yes, paying customers in the middle of their meal)… and without so much as a «hello, is everything okay here?»… the manager accuses me publicly of soliciting to customers like some kind of hobo and asks me to leave the building. When I instantly explain that this table of customers includes my HUSBAND, this guy then shrugs it off with«oh, well, someone told me you were soliciting at this table.» And by now the whole dining room is watching. Dude, I don’t care who«told» you. You are the one in the wrong and trying to humiliate me. You own the recovery. Listen, I work with lots of hospitality people and I dine out a lot. I know brands aren’t getting the cream of the crop in fast-casual management, especially considering the current resto labor shortage. But this was a pretty ridiculous and needless gaffe, and made a front-and-center display of a GM with zero table skills and less than zero guest recovery skills. See ya, Genghis Grill.

After being a big fan of Genghis Grill initially, I am consistently disappointed in the Frisco location. Sunday afternoon at 2pm it wasn’t very busy but the wait staff was very slow and not very attentive. Our food came out a little slow and when it did, one of the bowls was slathered in cold udon noodles. I was the waitress to throw it back on the grill specifically for«one or two minutes» and 9 minutes later I was flagging our waitress down asking about my food. As I feared, everything cooked to a blackened mess. I just wanted warm noodles. Im not sure how many more chances I will give this location.

Choices are okay but food is pricey! Staff is courteous and active. Their choice of spices is pretty good. Highly recommend the udon noodle option too.

I normally like this place but I’m afraid I won’t want to go back. We thought we would go to Cotton Patch across the street but that was too busy on a Sunday afternoon this place is pretty good we thought. GG wasn’t too busy and now I see why. We do our bowls and asked for fried rice with egg but they were out of eggs. Once we get our food one person at a time with seemingly several minutes between we had to ask for silverware. The bathroom had no toilet paper too. For all this you have to pay more on Sunday than weekdays. Maybe I’ll be back on a weekday the food was stills pretty good but I don’t want to pay a premium for substandard service.

The build your own setup was great for a big group with very different tastes. We all got to try the meat, spices, and vegetables that looked good to us. Fortunately we got recipe cards that guided our decisions so those of us who had not tried Mongolian stir fry before could know what would make a good order. Service was fast, portions were a good size, and the flavor was good.

We have been to this location many times for weekend lunch usually with a coupon. Sign up for their club to get discounts on your birthday. Mix and match your choices of food items or use their suggested menu planning cards to fix a bowl. Wait staff helpful and courteous.

The food was pretty good but the service and organization of the restaurant could have been much better. I have been to Genghis Grill before but I just ordered off the menu. This time I wanted to make my own bowl. There were many opportunities for this to have been a much more organized and easier process. 1. When we walked in the host just seated us, he didn’t ask if we had been there before or explain anything to us. 2. We sat at the bar and the bartender DID ask but all he explained to us was that we needed to give our card to the person who cooks the food so they could have it delivered back to us. 3. When we got in line there was a woman at the«choose your protein» section for about 2 seconds before she just left us without asking anything other than what size bowl we wanted. 4. The same woman passed by us a few times while we were SO obviously confused at the sauce section. She didn’t say anything to us until we were almost completely done. The sauce cups were over by the veggies and I had never made my own bowl before so I mixed the sauce in with my meat and veggies. AFTER I was done she walked over and handed me a sauce cup. I told her I didn’t need it because I put the sauce in the bowl. She said OH! And then made a face like«oh crap, you really messed up». So I asked if I messed up and needed to start over. She just said no and walked away… So at this point of course I felt like a complete idiot. 5. The cook at the end was actually really nice and helpful. He explained all of the options that were at his point in the process so I wouldn’t consider this an opportunity for improvement really. 6. After everything was done and we got our food a couple of the bartenders asked how we were doing with their backs turned to us while they used the register or as they walked by and didn’t wait for our answer. Overall I don’t think I would go back again… to any location. I had a coupon for $ 10 off so that’s the only reason we went this time.

A great place if you have a group where everyone likes different things. Meat or seafood, all types of vegetables, noodles, rice, hot, mild just pick what you want. Staff was nice and food was good.

I’ve only been to a Ghenghis once before and the last time was great. This time however wasn’t what I expected. Upon entering the hostess sat us right away. She seemed pretty enthusiastic. The waitress(I believe itwas Jasmine) was quite opposite. She gave us the cards to choose the noodles and size and seemed impatient as we filled them out. So we got in line to get the meats, everything was pretty clean looking and simple. When the food got to the table it was good, I mean if it sucks it’s you’re own fault haha but I did notice the crab meat tasted off like it was frozen for a while or something. The lime chicken was great but the cook seemed to barely put effort in mixing as there were spots on my meal that lacked the sauce and parts that were too saucy. The egg wasn’t mixed throughout either it was one whole slice of scrambled egg so D– for that. My husband needed utensils, but our waitress(who was standing right across from us) failed to notice us looking around, another waitress helped us out so not much effort from our original waitress. Overall it was just okay.

Great service. The food is good as long as you follow the recipe or know what goes good together. The waiters and waitresses are always smiling and willing to explain anything you don’t understand.

I have to say our waiter, Alex, was awesome. We haven’t been in quite sometime so the changes surprised us, we think it is a bit overpriced! Food was good. But it did smell like a dirty mop in there.

Not a fan of this place at all. I walked in thinking I would love it because you basically pick your fresh veggies, thinly sliced meats and sauces but, although I thought I seasoned well, everything came out really bland, and a little pricey for a bowl — everything shrinks.

The cooks were rude! They were standing in the corner while we were waiting for them to take our food filled bowls. When my son said excuse me they told us we had to move around the counter. They couldn’t have told us that instead of talking to each other while we stood there? I proceeded to talk to the manager and he told me the cooks are nice and they had even asked«junior» how he was doing today. Told the manager my son’s name is not junior and that the cooks never asked my son how he was doing. The manager proceeded to argue with me that he had heard the cook ask my son. Told the manager that he was doing a great job with customer service. He did say sorry but I could tell he walked off frustrated. Only bright spot was our waiter. He tried to make up for the rude behavior.

This is my second time at this location. The first time I went, the waitress we got was behaving rudely(I’m guessing because we only ordered one entrée during lunch between me and my sister). We don’t eat that much and we were not even able to finish that one entrée so why should I have to order two and have to throw food away? She never stopped by after giving us our waters. Both times I went, the selections of meat were not as good as some of the other genghis grill locations. Lastly, their dessert is horrible! The brownie cost $ 6 and it didn’t come with ice cream. You have to pay $ 1 for each extra scoop of ice cream. The brownies were literally the worst brownies I ever had… they tasted days old and the outside tasted way over cooked. For $ 8 it was a total rip off. I would definetly NOT reccomend getting a dessert from this place.

Terrible service and Rude Management. I will never go back to this franchise. With no staff interested in helping the manager went to the grill without washing his hands. Completely grossed me out. Then refused to accommodate my vegetarian request. Stay away if you expect even mediocre service.

Came here for dinner on a weekend, and it was crowded, but there was no wait, which is a lot better than many of the chain restaurants in the area. Parking close was tough. This is essentially a Mongolian grill type of place. The bowls come in a variety of sizes. I wish it were weighed by the pound though, instead of preset prices. I stuffed my bowl with tons of meat and was saving room for my carb, but afterwards realized that you don’t need to save room, as they will just throw it on top for you. Another tip is to go easy on the sauce. They are very rich and you will need less than you think. I love that they have rice crackers and sesame for your seasoning pleasure after you get your bowl. The service is very friendly and I would recommend this place for families as it is fun for the kids to watch them cook your bowl.
