Chef Chen’s is one of my favorites! Always fresh and delicious! A generous amount of food for the price. My favorite is Garlic Chicken.

I’ve been here multiple times for lunch takeout over the past year and have never had any problems. Chef Chen’s give you huge portions of food for the price and the service at the register has always been good. They get the food out quickly and it is still hot by the time I get home. For the price, the food tastes great and you get a lot out of the lunch menu items.
It’s located in a convenient location (For me at least) right off of Preston and they have plenty of parking.
I will be coming back and have been recommending it to people for awhile now.

Chef Chen pulled through big time tonight. Being sick and working over 12 hours today, I wanted to get something delivered quickly. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. It was delivered in under 20 minutes!!! It was still steaming and it was so delicious, plus delivery is only a dollar! Thank you so much!!!

The general tso’s chicken was just like orange chicken, which is the best. The Lomain was the best I ever had in the world. The cho cho beef was amazing, it’s like the best Chinese food ever. You have to come here it’s the best

Great Chinese take-​out. Been here twice recently: excellent food both times — best take out I’ve had anywhere around Dallas. General Tsao’s chicken great, as were a couple of other chicken entrees we had. Staff very friendly.

Oh how I wish I would have read reviews before eating here. Worst broccoli beef I’ve ever had.

We have bought here for years, Delivery, pick up, you name it, and regularly too. But this year there is a noticeable change, not only in the food, but mainly in one of their staff members, who really should not be working in any customer service position. Some times, you could think they have a different cooking staff, but when someone seems to always be in a bad mood, wither you call or come through the drive through, we don’t need to be bothered with that. We have bought food from here since they have opened. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone down hill. A couple of weeks ago, we called about the egg roll not tasting good, it had an odd taste as if it where bad. So they gave us credit for a few egg rolls. When i called to order some food, I remembered the egg rolls, I mentioned it, well their cashier named Lynn, who is always rude, whenever you call or go through the drive thru, but yesterday was the icing on the cake. I went in to get my order, and Lynn shouts out, you called? You just called? I told her yes, I just called, and then she said maybe you never tried our egg rolls before. I told her I have been buying food long before she started working here. When my order was ready, she came around and practically slammed my order on the counter, and opened the lid and said there is your food, and walked away, and i said this is how you treat all of your customers? And she said What? You want a bag? I give you a bag, You pissing me off! and got me a bag, I told her she is out of control, and this is all way too much. I asked her for the owners name, and she said refused to give it to me, and said call later, only the manager can give you that information. Then she said, call him I don’t care, you can tell him you talked to me. She was a total hot head, and was out of control, simply because I wanted to cash in on our credited egg rolls. Unbelievable. I spoke to someone who said they are the owner, and they said no one told him about the incident yesterday. Most likely because she treats everyone so badly. He said he was going to talk to her, and tell her to be careful. What??? Careful. I said as long as she is there, we are no longer going to buy from Chef Chen. All he said then was Please call back, because you are a valued customer.

I just found a piece of metal in my rice, I’m pregnant and could’ve swallowed that and might harm my baby or me. I called the restaurant to let them know, they apologized and asked me what they can do to fix this so I said replace my food but they said they couldn’t find my order then I just told the person on the phone to forget it (there was no point if my order wasn’t there, I don’t know how they work their system it was just yesterday) so they called back and told me that they found my order, so they just sent me the rice I had but no soy sauce :\ well whatever

Went through the drive thru today and was totally baffled as to why the person working the drive thru is even in the service industry. He was rude, wouldn’t answer my question about what was in a dish that I had to ask three times, and had an attitiude that led me to believe he was mad at the world. Plus, he asks if I want brown or steamed rice and then after asking for brown I found out that it was $ 1.00 more but he failed to let me know that while I was ordering.
Then for the food… how do you screw up something as simple as a teriyaki chicken bowl? Answer, by turning it into a soup! There was so much sauce they poured on the rice and chicken that I probably could’ve used a straw to drink it. Had two bites and threw it in the trash.
I have no desire to go to this place ever again especially seeing as there are plenty of other Chinese food options around.

Subpar. Been eating all around looking for decent Chinese food, but this definitely isn’t the spot. Would not recommend at all. Food is rather bland and isn’t that great.

Well I decided to try this place after so many people have been raving about how this Chinese food was the closest thing to Chicago and St Louis style Chinese food and in the words of Maury, that was a lie. first of all the customer service was not good I was not greeted with a hello and it actually seemed like I was annoying the person at the drive thru window. The food lacks flavor and the egg roll which I had very high hopes for tasted like dishwater. I will not be coming to this place again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I do feel sorry for those Texans who have yet to experience great Chinese food from the Chicago and St Louis areas.

Best Chinese food In the area! My favorite is Broccoli/​chicken in white sauce yummm! Hubby’s is beef and Brocoli & orange chicken and Lomein noodles are sooo good! Every single time I go is fresh and very tasty! I would eat here everyday if I could.

If you’re looking for a good sit-​down Chinese restaurant in Frisco, this ain’t it.
The egg rolls were very good but the plate I had was so-​so. I ordered it extra spicy and they drowned it in sriracha sauce rather than, say, adding a load of Asian peppers to it which is my preference.
Even though it’s a buffet, The Great Wall has better food than this place. I would expect that if you want to compete in that space, you need to be better than the buffets. My entrée and two egg rolls cost as much as going to Great Wall.

Food was really not good at all. I ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice, and I just wish I hadn’t. Overpriced mediocre food, but hey it was open on Christmas Eve when everywhere else wasn’t! 2 stars for that

Basically make meat, douse with sauce, and vegetables added last. Not impressed at all. Staff seems very unpleasant. The environment felt like we were being an inconvenience.
I ordered the Chicken in garlic sauce. The dish didn’t even contained a hint of any type of flavoring. Tasted like thickened up water. The water chestnuts tasted funny, like they were old or something.
Overall, I would not recommend this place.

I am a big fan of Americanized Chinese an this place is above average. I always go Lomein spicy chicken and this place is pretty good. Not the best but above average. The portion size is good and about par for the price paid. The drive through is a big plus and came out quickly. The gentleman is friendly and an over all good experience. The lo mein isnt too greasy and didnt get a big msg vibe. Wish the noodles were thicker though.

So four stars might be a little much for this place, but I love the convenience, and if you want fast and inexpensive Chinese takeout or delivery in the Frisco area, this is definitely your place, hands down. The portions are large (especially the fried rice — holy cow), the prices are fair, and the food is really good for what it is. The eggrolls (more like spring rolls) are not that great, but I do enjoy getting a cup of soup with my meal.
Plus, HELLO, there is a drive-​thru. Whatever genius thought of that deserves an extra star on principal.

For a Chinese takeout place, the food was surprisingly good yet prices were still low at lunch.

For a quick Chinese fix, Chen’s got your back.
Avoid lots of fried food or you’ll have a heart attack.
The beef broccoli was fine, egg roll was supreme.
Although very friendly, the cashier looked mean.
Still a friendly atmosphere, I wont talk much smack.
This place is alright, I will probably be back.

We had take out last night. As usual it was awesome. The portions are so generous my family of four can eat to our satisfaction. We had a large shrimp fried rice and General Tso Chicken dinner.
What I love most about this restaurant is it’s friendly service. The first time we ever went, we ordered take out, and I stepped out to the car for only a moment. I guess the gentleman behind the counter took notice, because before I could head back into the counter, he was out at my car with order in hand thanking me for coming. That’s why we continue to come to this location.
They are A plus on my grading scale.
