Too freakin’ loud! I came here for a late solo dinner after a long work day, just wanted to eat a nice salad & read my book — not the place for it. Low lights, loud rock music(don’t get me wrong, I love Aerosmith) — this is a place for youn ‘uns looking to party. That said, the salad was fine(kale caesar with seared ahi) & the service was good.

I’m a big fan of Yard house! They have a wide select of food and drinks with a great happy hour special. The space is large and the wait was minimal. The food is good and come to table drag the wait staff was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is not too loud or distracting. Located in a mall parking available but you may have to walk.

This was my first time in to try Yard House and we only decided to go in for lunch because we were already in Riverpark and we had a gift card. Since it was free, it was fine. And that’s me being generous. First, our waitress greeted us asking if we had been in before and I said no and she asked if we live in Fresno and I said yeah and that was followed by a(what I assume was meant to be humorous) condescending look like«seriously? You’ve never been in here?» So there was an awkward chuckle because we didn’t know what else to do. I got the turkey burger with fries and my sister got a roast beef, French dip type of sandwich and clam chowder. The French dip is something(I think it’s safe to say) neither of us will ever order again. Same with the clam chowder. I would order the turkey burger again only because it was… decent and I would be afraid of ordering something else and it not even being decent. I probably would’ve added some salt to the fries if there were any condiments on the table. Our waitress checked on us about 3 minutes after our food was delivered and asked how it was so we said fine, hadn’t really started eating. Then about 15 minutes later came up and said«ok making progress». Just an odd situation. I feel like Yard House is popular for people who like to drink with or without food and since I don’t drink I don’t see a situation in which I’ll be returning. They get 2 stars because they’d I have a good selection of vegetarian options.

I came through for happy hour. I’m mainly giving this a 4 star because I felt the margaritas were slightly over priced for a happy hour. But if you’re a beer drinker, the deals seem good. My bartender Leslie was really nice and informative. The happy hour deals on food seem pretty good. I got the chicken nachos $ 7 and seared ahi $ 8. Both were good and filling. The plate of nachos was a meal in its self. Being that I’m in town for a little while on business, I will definitely be back.

I was always really happy and impressed with this place until tonight. I also work in the river park area and would never deny a guest the option to use the restroom. I went into yard house tonight for an after work snack and drink with some coworkers. After 12 Nick(the manager) denied me access to the bathroom(I think that is outrageous) if I’m a paying guest and tipped more than 20% I deserve the right to use your restroom before I leave! To say the least… that will be the last time I stop in for a relaxing night after Work! I have been more than kind and generous to your staff and to be kicked out like a dog and not allowed to use the restroom Is appalling to me!

Firstly, this is a review for the Fresno Yard House, and not yard house as a whole, because I quite like going to their Long Beach counterpart. I was at the Fresno one by «mistake» and at the insistence of a friend, last Saturday, when I was in town for a graduation and what a mistake that was. I remember I vowed to never be there after my last experience around 6 months ago. When I was there at the start of the year, I first ran into an inattentive Maitre D’ and when I was finally able to locate my friend(with no help from Matre D’) and order food, the fish and chips tasted like they were frozen and heated in the microwave. The waitress decided to ignore us for almost 15 – 20 minutes, when we decided to pay and when we exited out of the door, the waitresses who huddle near the doorway seemed to be busy talking about their boyfriends and seemed unable to share a civilized greetings such as «have a nice day.» So, when a friend insisted that I go there, again, I thought, «maybe they have gotten better.» But nope, same treatment. Bartender, after taking my order, decided to take orders and serve a few other people before bringing my beer, and again the waitresses decided to be busy chatting about nail-polish, or whatever, when we exited, rather than pay any attention to us. The service here has a night and day difference between the other yard houses I have been to all over California. What is a bar and hang-out place for young professionals, around California, has died a death of bad customer like many places in Fresno. It also has the attitude of «selective niceties» — where they are nice to some patrons and not others(you can guess the reason) — like many businesses in Fresno. I truly believe that it is not the chain, but the local«environment,» which has ruined my experience again, and again at this place. Perhaps someone from their L. A chain should come give lessons about customers to the locals who work here. Or perhaps they need to give lessons in civility to the workers who are hired. Needless to say, I would rather go to a hipster infested tower bar, than step in here, ever again!

Great place to go with friends. They have wide verity of foods from tacos to burgers to pasta to Asian food! I love their chicken enchilada stack, it’s delicious! :) plus their truffle fries are bomb. If you like drinks, come during happy hour. Deff recommend this place for a group of people… But It isn’t really a family dinner type place though they do provide kids meals if you need one(which is a pretty good menu too.). It’s loud and dark; bar-like, so keep that in mind.

Went in with a big party. From start to end, our waitress was amazing. Patient and helpful. Food was excellent as well. I ordered the filet mignon with asparagus and mashed potatos. It tasted ok. The person next to me had the spicy jambalaya with rice(yummers)! We also had the eggrolls and wings as appetizer and they were both amaze balls. Overall experience was pleasant.

I’m giving them 5 stars. I was flying solo tonight on a work trip. The inside was a little chilly for me so I sat on the patio. Jessica was my waitress and she was great! Usually you get impersonal service but Jessica did her best to make it a great experience. I’m wishing her well on her upcoming soccer tournament now! I highly recommend you try the«Steak Cheese Eggs» under the house favorites. It was very tasteful and a perfect portion size. Usually dishes here can be rather large. I finished it off with a Tioga Sequoia Half Dome Beer. Great combination. Recommendations: Sit outside and enjoy some fresh air.

Over hyped The presentation is really good and the hostess are welcoming but the overall service is below par. The food isn’t great either considering the décor demands a much higher quality of taste & texture. Choice for kids isn’t great, just the usual pizza or nuggets — I was expecting something more If you come here looking for high quality food then don’t bother, if you’re looking for a cold beer, watching sports and have some adequate food & nibbles then this is the place for you.

First thought was, it’s going to be packed in there. We walked in and it was. Haha We luckily found a couple seats at the bar in no time. This place is definitely worth waiting for though. The bartenders were all awesome. Very attentive and professional. We ordered the vampire tacos. INSANE! the beans and rice were awesome too. I have never wanted just a bowl of beans so badly in my life. The beer selection was awesome too. It’s a huge list so there’s something for everyone. Another thing that I really liked was the music. If a place is playing Hey Jude by the Beatles, I’m there. Great place all around.

Come here for happy hour(4−6pm, weekdays only) and get their chicken nachos! $ 7 for a huge platter. Tried their poke stack(marinated raw ahi) for the first time today($ 8). Not bad. Will get it again, but chicken nachos are still my fav. Could feed 3+ people. Seriously. Expect to pay full price during happy hour if you order to-go. Made that mistake once. Food is good here, but when it’s not happy hour, it’s a little pricy.

Good bye pretty penny. It’s overly hyped, food is decent, prices are killer but you pay for the area. Always packed, make sure to call in reservations! Service is petty, well mine was at least. I don’t think waiters deserve a tip if they don’t check up on you. For the whole hour and a half that we were there our waiter checked up on us once and that was to bring the bill. And that DOESN’T include her bringing our drink nor our meal. She asked about our meal when she placed or meals. Can I taste it first? Lol whatever, I wasn’t going to bother, I was already pooped from a filled morning. Didn’t want to argue nor explain myself. Sad part is that she asked if we needed anything else at the end of our lunch; which is petty. Our glasses of wine and Moscow mules were empty before our meals came. Any who enough complaining about service. $ 18 for a full serving and 15 for half. Just jump the price to get the whole serving. It includes lots of sausage pieces, small bit size pieces of craw dads, and 2 blacken jumbo shrimps with veggies. Had jambalaya at Cheesecake Factory and I HAD to send it back because it was of different taste. Maybe I never had real jambalaya before but I enjoy the one at yard house. Happy hour MONDAY-Friday 3pm-6pm and then starts back up at 10pm. Lunch specials 11am-5pm daily. Half off. I got super excited when I saw happy hour starts at 3 then I realized it’s oh darn it’s Sunday. *sad face* LOL oh well.

Came here around 4 and it was happy hour at the bar. Happy hour runs from 3 – 6 and 10pm on. There are special drink prices and a selection of discounted food offerings. We were able to find seats at the bar right away at this time and the bartenders were attentive and pleasant enough. The bar here is huge; a giant silver bar in the middle of the sleek, modern décor that is mostly black and silver. It’s mood settingly dark in here but I liked it. The bathrooms were clean and decorated well. Although, my boyfriend said the men’s room needed attention badly. The River Park area Yard House is located in is my absolute favorite part of Fresno. We had burgers at Red Robin just a few hours before so weren’t that hungry. I got a single vampire taco off the $ 5 happy hour menu and Karl got the fried calamari from the $ 7 selections. His calamari was a large portion and he enjoyed it. It came with a mayo based sauce as well as cocktail sauce. My taco had a cheese crust around the homemade tortilla. It was filled with carnitas and Guacamole and I think it had whole roasted garlic cloves hence the vampire name. It was very good and not garlicky at all. Pretty filling for a single taco too. I had my standard glass of Chardonnay which was $ 2 off thanks to happy hour. Bf had a watermelon flavored beer which he enjoyed. I’d like to come back and try some of the heartier menu selections but the prices here are really high. I doubt we’ll be back for anything other than happy hour if we are in the area and feel like a drink. If you can afford $ 20 plus for basic entrees and like a large, dark bar atmosphere then this is your spot!

I always sit at the bar. They have happy hours 4−6p. It’s the best deal. Plenty of food at the good price. I love their beer selection. Always go for a German Lager or Wheat beer. Bartenders are nice and knowledgeable. Plenty of parking outside. The best location in town. Overall it’s a very decent place, good variety of food and beers. I love their chicken wings and Nachos. Try it.

I came in for lunch between meetings, and was pleased to have free wifi. I ordered 2 appetizers, though I severely underestimated their size! The warm spinach and cheese dip with crispy flatbread was probably the best I’ve ever had. Creamy, savory, cheesy, crispy: it surpassed my crazy pregnant craving expectations. Fantastic! I also ordered the sliders, a stack of 4 with cheese and«special sauce.» While the first bite was dry and nothing special, once I got deeper in with more sauce, they had great flavor. Slightly sweet, tasty, and satisfying. Not the best ever, but very good! I upgraded the included fries to truffle fries, which was a good choice! The generous portion of thinly cut fries were very flavorful. Service was great: just attentive enough so I was never needing anything and my soda stayed full, but I was also able to get some work done without several interruptions. Prices are high, so I wouldn’t come often, but for a splurge it was great. Plus, they played classic rock, including some rarely-played Led Zeppelin. Awesome lunchtime experience!

Stopped here for late lunch. The restaurant was busy but not packed. We were greeted right away. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the dining area and restrooms were clean. I ordered the Pastrami Burger with truffle fries. It was very good. My wife and daughter both said there food was good as well. We also had a cheese fondue appetizer that was pretty tasty. Overall, the whole meal was enjoyable, the food good, and the staff friendly. Loved the huge beer selection. Will come back again.

Came for a birthday dinner and had 2 star service. Started out with my wife being served a regular mojito when we asked for a virgin because she is pregnant. The virgin took 10 – 15 minutes to arrive.(Only after asking where it was) I also say with an empty glass for a good 15 – 20 minutes. Our food came exactly 6 minutes after our appetizers were served and the birthday girl ended up having a pizza placed in front of her, when she ordered a salad. Yikes. Setting aside the service, the food was fantastic. Definitely a 4 star quality meal. The truffle fries and calamari were top notch. The filet was awesome. I’d order it again in a heartbeat. Way too dark in here for pictures.

Quick rundown: — overcooked burgers — great fries — truffle mac and cheese wasn’t truffly — the truffle burger also didn’t have much truffle flavor — server was mostly polite but didn’t have basic knowledge of a dish on the menu, and didn’t have the courtesy to give us a serious answer when we asked about the thickness of the beef on the roast beef sandwich — pretty much made it seem like we were ridiculous for asking the question — Moscow Mule was too sweet — manager was very nice when we gave feedback about the overcooked burgers, and took them off our tab, since we didn’t want to send them back and wait for replacements They’ve got a great selection of beers, though the Moscow Mule is a tad too sweet. The beer is really the only thing they have going for them. The menu is all over the place. Honestly, they have way too many things on the menu that it’d be impossible for the chef to do everything well. And it shows. The fries(both regular and the truffle kind) were probably the best thing on the menu. They were thin, almost matchstick-style, and perfectly crisp. We asked the server a basic question about one of the dishes, and she had no idea. She replied with, «Yes? No? Probably?» — which not only revealed her lack of knowledge about the menu, but also didn’t give us the courtesy of a serious answer. We were curious about the thickness of the meat on a sandwich — sure it wasn’t a deal-breaker and we weren’t trying to be uppity about it, but they ask all the time, «Do you have any questions about the menu?» So there’s no need to make us feel silly for asking a question about a menu item. I mean, I couldn’t really be too upset. The uninspired menu is massive(ever heard of quality over quantity, Yard House?), so I understand that she didn’t know a basic thing about the roast beef sandwich we were planning on getting. In fairness, after that, she was just the right amount of attentive. Always around whenever we wanted to order another round of drinks. Our group ordered two burgers, and both were comically overcooked. I got the truffle burger, medium rare. I didn’t really get much truffle flavor at all, and the burger was not even remotely medium, much less medium rare. We didn’t want to wait for a replacement but let the manager know(who saw for himself our dry, overcooked burgers), and he graciously took it off our tab. But honestly, it never should have gotten to that point. If you’re not going to bother cooking the burgers to the customers’ specs, then why bother asking? It was a mediocre dinner. Not really surprising, considering this chain doesn’t seem to have much incentive to get the quality right.

Expect to «eat, drink and be merry» at Yard House. Let me explain what Yard House stands for, its an american sports bar with chains all over USA that seems to have a gravity effect everywhere its located, including this one in Fresno, where its strong force attracts bodies to its centre. Come on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night and you will know what I mean — since you would probably have to wait 20 – 40 minutes, and its no surprise why the crowd is gravitated to this place, the restaurant offers many more delicious eating options that deviate from typical american bar food a.k.a burgers and wings, they have exiting menu items such as California rolls and swordfish tacos. Additionally the vibe of the place is ‘lively’- blaring mixed music, crowd clamorously talking and having good time, and its dark wood and dim lit atmosphere gives a classier ecosystem. To be honest, its like the cheesecake factory, but just louder and rowdier and without the cheesecake. I am not a fan of waiting and mixing with the loud crowd so I often just do takeout here. My personal favorite would be their $ 10.95 classic cheeseburger. Its definitely not the best burger in the world, but the burger here is tasty and fabulous. The brioche buns here is absolutely decadent and soft, while the meat patty is an inch thick of grilled burger, that’s made to order(rare/medium/well done). The burgers are normally dressed with lettuce, tomato and red onion and drizzled with a delicious tangy and acidic garlic aioli. Overall an above average burger. Their garlic fries is delicious and strong– almost stings your tongue with every bite. I am however disappointed that the fries used is shoe string instead of thick steak fries. But overall the fries is not a major complaint, delicious and perfectly salted fries. I would be back here should I fancy bar food late an night, since this place open late. Its the perfect place to get burgers, delicious bar food after 10pm when everything is closed since they open as late as 1.30 am on the weekend and 12pm on weekdays.
