The Standard Restaurant and Lounge

I hosted a Bride to Be party here. Got the VIP/​bottle service and ordered up a bunch of appetizers. They allowed me to decorate around my table, were attentive to our needs and did it with a smile. It was an awesome time with the live jazz (a Friday night treat) and the food was so unexpectedly delicious, I want to come back just for the food! Great atmosphere for really any age (over 21) where you can find something you like and have a good time. Whether you like to get up and dance or sit back and chill the Standard is set.

The best lounge that Fresno has to offer. I’ve been to The Standard about three times and each time has been great. The place is very clean and comfortable and the bartenders know how to make just about any drink that I’ve thrown at them.
This last time around we were here just to try drinks and the bartender (forgot to get his name) was able to make all of our drinks, effortlessly.
We have not tried the food yet but we will make sure to come when the kitchen is open instead of trying to stumble in like some alcoholics just looking for drinks.
There are a few TVs around that are usually broadcasting sports, which is perfect. For me at least.
There’s also a very nice outdoor seating area with outdoor heaters if you want to lounge outside, instead of being cramped inside all day.
They have various specials daily so be sure to check out what’s going on first.
If you’re looking for a classy, comfortable, and fun place to unwind then I’d recommend you check out The Standard. Very nice addition to good ol’ Fresno.

I came here for my 21^st birthday. The bartenders were awesome, fast, and so on top of things! This place is very accommodating for special occasions where you want to party or have a good time. There were a variety of places to chill (patio, dance floor, cabanas, etc.) so the night never became boring. Drinks are decently priced. The sound system was high quality and the music was fun! The people who were there this evening were all very kind to me and others! Definitely not a place to go if you’re looking to get into an altercation. This place has plenty of security and they definitely take care of anything/​anyone that does not show respect to other guests. The only bad thing I encountered was the ladies’ bathroom. Only two stalls. However, there is always a line for the ladies’ room at any lounge/​bar. So no surprise here. Definitely consider The Standard for your next event!

I love coming to this lounge. This is our «go to» place for any occasion. We recently went there for my sisters birthday. It was a Tuesday so it wasnt busy, but we were able to have the area with two tables and the fireplace. Or server/​bartender was Matt and he’s amazing! He’s honestly always our server. I think I’ve only had one different sever but she was cool too. But my boyfriend and I ordered the standard burger and the chicken Alfredo, AMAZING!!! The food was so good, we even made reservations for Valentine’s Day but they had a pre set menu we had to turn down because we had burgers and Alfredo on our mind. But we ended up going back a month after Valentine’s Day just to order the burger and Alfredo. I also recommend their spicy wings with the sesame seeds on them, delicious!!! also, they’re patio set up is nice as well.

Very surprised by the quality of food! Delicious and everyone was nice and helpful! Love going on a Monday night for quiet date night! Hidden gem! Not just a club atmosphere, great chef!

Foods pretty, needs MORE flavor, additional jalapenos and onion didn’t help much.
Had southwest egg rolls and calamari.
Waitress Amanda was very attentive.

We visited here for a drink and dessert on date night, after eating elsewhere. It wasn’t very busy but we sat at the bar. I enjoyed my drink (something with «kiss» in the name). The bartender was friendly, conversational and attentive. The molten lava cake tasted like it was a store-​bought, frozen cake so that was a let down. The interior is chic and was a nice end to our romantic evening.

I had dinner last week I had the filet mignon with the peel off and veggies. The filet was cooked perfectly I am a cigar smoker and was able to smoke my cigar and eat my dinner on the patio amazing!

Must say I was impressed with this place from the moment we walked up we were greeted by very professional security and staff as well place was very elegant inside and out. Most of all we had I must say one of the best bartenders I have ever come across Tim was on top of things and keep surprising us with different types of drinks that he makes didn’t have to wait for ever to just get service no mater where we went in this place Tim made sure we had a drink. This is definitely a place to go on a date if you are looking to a romantic night out.

Price is fine but the bar tender knew what an old fashioned was and made it for me. She put so much attention to it that it was a work if art. It was a world class cocktail and I am not messing around.

Not impressed with the food! The service is even worse. They recommend an appetizer that they ran out of and were out of the beer we went in for. The Black and Blue sliders were very salty but the chicken taco app was good! I can definitely recommend the Chicken Taco’s

I came here for a Friday night. It was nice being out on the patio and experience. however I will say it was difficult to get drinks because of the amount of people there I most definitely will go back on a Friday night.
On this particular night, it was hosted by radio station. The crowd was of an older more professional type. The music was nice my Russian meal was strong!

I just don’t get the hype about this place. Maybe it’s the fact that I am a Tower District girl and probably will always be. Came here for a Bachelorette party and the cabana was only so big so most of us had to stand. There was bottle service but it wasn’t anything fancy. We got a huge bottle of Grey Goose with a bunch of juices on the side… orange juice, pineapple & cranberry. I dont think I’ve had drinks that trivial since I was 21… or 18 ;-)
The crowd is so mixed that I had a hard time figuring out what the trend was. Old, old men that could barely walk mixed with teeny boppers just out of high school. Oh and there’s a no dancing policy! So the DJ will turn up the volume but make sure not to feel that beat too hard cause ya can’t give in to it. I did not eat any food while we were here so I can’t say anything about that and honestly that’s the only thing keeping me from giving this place 1 star but needless to say I really have no reason to come back.

My company had a private event here, and everything about it was absolutely perfect. The drinks were great, the food was delicious, the venue is beautiful, and their customer service was top notch. Our guests had a fabulous time!

I couldn’t check in here on Sunday night because my phone service just sucks. It was a nice lounge. Spacey and it had a cool outdoor patio. The bartenders and security guards were cool with us. I got really hammered that day so it was a good night. HAHA!

Had a fun birthday experience here. We got a cabana & bottle service and were treated very well. We also ate some food which was pretty good. Overall a solid place!

Justin the manager was very friendly and treated us like we were the only people in there.
The happy hour menu is AMAZING :)
Very nice atmosphere… And the patio is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I’ve been to this place several times and it always amazes me what a nice, classy establishment this place is.
Then they take my drink order and never get it right or I’ve had cracked glasses. The food could be better.
I’ve been to several private parties here and they never put up a sign to let people know that it’s a private party so other patrons end up coming out into the patio area when the party is still going on.
Some if the patrons I have encountered are on the classless side, no standard perhaps.

I had some appetizers the other night with my sister that I was really pleasantly surprised with. It was a Thursday and there was a free little concert going on, so I didn’t experience the typical «Saturday night crowd» that other reviewers have complained about.
We ordered the seared ahi that I was really impressed with. Granted, it’s hard to mess up ahi because it’s basically raw, but the seasoning on the outside was superb. Crispy, spicy, and smokey. Yum! The nachos were also impressive– they are more like a three layer Mexican pizza and are three whole tortillas with chicken and everything else in between. Then they cut it into like 4 pieces. It tasted fresh and I liked the seasoning on the chicken.
I have also gone in on weekedays in the late afternoon and been able to relax in the cabanas for an after work drink which is great when it’s not crowded. This place may be a little pretentious on weekend nights, but I enjoy it for non-​peak days for happy hour.

Yes, it is nice, the bathrooms are clean, and it has a fun vibe. But, the people make this place lose stars. Well, I take that back, this will be the EXACT type of crowd you are expecting, therefore you should know better before walking in.
Everybody is too cool to dance, too cool to drink just a beer, and EVERYONE is on their phone. It’s lame. However, if you are 21, this is the PERFECT spot for you. You get to wear your cute/​slutty outfits and have douchey guys buy you drinks. My kind of night 10 years ago. Not so much now.
