Just my husband and I show up for dinner. The place is a little dated on the inside, but we were met and led to our table by one of the owners. She was adorable! Genuinely cared about our days. Ask if we have been there before. We said no and she goes on to recommend her favorites and they were wonderful.
Before dinner came, she had us try her husbands Manhattan. Damn. They were fantastic. I can’t pin point what it was, but he didn’t cut it with the usual cherry… I will learn his magic secret.
Steaks were perfect and came with a side of hash browns. Weird right?! It worked! Definitely coming back.

We love coming here for celebrations. The owner, Karen, greets us at the door, always remembers us, and spends the time to find out what brought us there. The food is good, not necessarily memorable, but consistently good. This place has a great atmosphere and excellent service. I’m a fan.

Came here for valentines. Staff was attentive, but agree with other Unilocalers with the hype. I don’t understand why this place is so hyped up. The food is not worth the price and it’s underwhelming. It’s hard to find a place that does a correct medium rare. Ended up being more medium, which ruins a steak. Won’t be back.

Everything was wonderful. I would usually give this place a better rating but I was disappointed with this place because it was so hyped up. The place is nice, and they sat us in a small round booth which I loved. The service was wonderful too. The food was good. Since this place had such wonderful reviews I expected excellent food. Not good food. I did love the escargot, the bread, and the drinks. They have good bar tenders. The steak was cooked right. My husband ordered medium rare and he got medium rare which was perfect. But I expected the food to be on par with the Annex Kitchen or Cracked Pepper and it wasn’t. Maybe my taste is just too refined but if I pay as much as I did for my dinner, I’d like better tasting food. But like I said. It was good. For someone not so picky, it might be perfect because it does have nice ambience and good food… Just not fantastic food.

A gem! Service is excellent and the food and cocktails are yummy and refreshing. Went here for dinner on our brief visit in Fresno and we will be back. Highly recommend the tangerine cosmo and the beet salad.

Horrible customer service… the waiter forgot all about us. I got the bone-​in lamb and it was okay.

I had a meal there last Friday. Pros: Chilled Prawns were fresh and delicious; The New York Roquefort was excellent (even tough I asked for it to be well done it wasn’t; it was a huge piece and understandably I wouldn’t want it to burn to a crisp on the outside… lol) and the veggies were well seasoned. Would have preferred maybe red potatoes to the hash browns. Lemon-​Berry Cream Cake: Light and delicious. Local Pinot Noir (Cru Vineyards) was also very good with the meal. Service was stellar as well. Con: crowd was a bit old for me. Overall: I gave it 5 stars because of the taste of the food and quality of customer service.

We decided to try someplace new for our anniversary dinner. We had the New York Steak Deluca and Filet Medallions. The food was delicious and our drinks were made very well! I think the Manhattan has the best bar tender in town! Our waitress was also great!

We went last night based on the Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed. The crowd is older, sophisticated and quite so if you want to relax and unwind this is a great place. The liquor and wine selection are enormous, I was delighted because I like a nice drink with quality ingredients. We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers and a couple of deserts, everything was top quality with a balanced flavor explosion in my mouth. Watermelon salad and the pear with panchetta flatbreads were my favorite. I can’t wait to go back

I absolutely love this place, great quality food and great atmosphere. I ordered the escargot and it was absolutely delicious. Also the pistachio crusted calamari dish was light yet filling and my date had ordered the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. By far my favorite restaurant in this town

Digging this place. I’ve only been here once, for happy hour, but I love the vibe and it’s nice to see a real, full service bar with a bartender who knows how to do more than pour beer. We’ll be back.

Their happy hours us the best. Some places offered half price for the drinks but they cut the liquor and add syrup. Manhattan Stella provide real alcohol drinks plus the 3 for $ 20
menu is real food. The fish tacos are tasty. The food keeps their quality even just during Happy Hour. Their dinner is also awesome. The scallop dish is awesome!

You would have never known that place existed had no one told us about it. It’s tucked away in a strip mall. The food and service were amazing. The 32 oz ribeye is amazing bit share it if you don’t have a huge appetite. We tried the lemon cake for dessert. So very good. I highly recommend if you’re in Fresno and want a steak and great atmosphere, visit the Manhattan. You won’t be disappointed.

We just had the best birthday for my Dad’s 75^th yesterday in the newer, Carnegie Room. What a beautiful space to have a banquet or a party as we did. The service and servers were excellent, the drinks aplenty and many nice appetizers.
I also have very fond memories of this bar, esp on those very hot Fresno days when you need to find a cool and dark place. Great place to meet up with your Dad for a few hours, enjoy some happy hour prices and appies. I don’t know if the food is the best in town, but anytime I’ve eaten there appies, dinner, etc., it was very good.

I’m seriously digging this place.
Everything from escargot, tomahawk steak, petite steak, etc. were cooked perfectly how I like it.
The escargot is creamy and buttery, also comes with mini croissants. Really unique appetizer compared to other steakhouses in town and very scrumptious. Tomahawk steak is HUGE and cooked perfectly medium as I requested it. Too much for me to eat by myself, so me and the wife opted to share. The petite steak (I not too sure about the name here) is a perfect portion for me. And everything is served with caramelized baby carrot glaze of some sort and mash potatoes.
All my friends and family I have brought here has enjoyed their food tremendously. Enough so that they would frequent this establishment more than myself. Glad to see something like this in Fresno.

Dear Fresnans,
I don’t want to sound like the urbane type who thinks because he or she was raised in Los Angeles or San Francisco that he or she know what the country folk don’t understand. But then again, I’ve seen the light, and want to share the good news.
I was raised in LA and reared in SF, but the pole star of Fresno shines brighter than its better dressed neighbors. The lights are those of the Manhattan. No, not the distant island of high rents and edgy bearded men, but of a local restaurant committed to rare meat, strong drinks, and humble perfection. After 10 years in this place I finally dined there, and I will never be the same.
Where do I begin? Yes, it’s in a mini mall, but so are a number of hidden gems. Yes, the black and white theme combined with the dated interior may cause one pause, but surrender your snarky identity and embrace the mood. Yes, move with the vision, and thou shall be rewarded.
First and foremost, without sacrificing their dignity, the staff is there for you. At the table often and unobtrusively, they make sure glasses are full and plates are ready. As Thin Lizzy sang, «drink will flow,» and with the attention of these good folks, it will (if one desires). With that as a first course, one is on one’s way. Butter, meat, sauces, good God, and more wine, one eats and remembers why people left their houses 50 years ago to spend an entire paycheck on one meal. But you won’t. Though it’s not IHOP cheap, it is reasonable.
No pretense. Just solid beef, bread, and booze for those who either remember the Rat Pack or would like – every now and then – to engage in a historical reenactment worthy of Sammy, Frank, and Dean.
I cannot remember leaving a restaurant as satisfied as I did tonight upon leaving the Manhattan. Now, sleep perchance to dream. Aye, there’s the rub. When I do dream, it will be of lamb chops, steak, potatoes, and red wine.

First visit, and what à treasure, the food was well prepared. Had salmon, salad, fresh tasting. Lovely bar, great staff, first class, will return.

This is our second time here and we were very impressed with their steak. It was very tender and well seasoned. I had their scallops special and it was excellent. Their black Olive tennade appetizer was excellent. I recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner any time of the week
