Love this place for my sushi fix! It’s right down the street from where I work! I can call right in during the busy lunch hour and they have my food ready in less than 10 mins! I have never had a bad order or nasty fish taste. Also the seaweed salad is so refreshing! I always get the Philly roll but today I got the boong boong roll and it was perfect! Delicious spicy tuna on top and salmon inside. Then order monkey brain that was just the right amount of crunch and spicy. Eating in or take out, the whole staff is very friendly and quick service. My number 1 sushi stop! Next time I’m going to try the zebra roll! Can’t wait for that!

Good food, good happy hour. Beware how you order at happy hour– the happy hour menu appears to have regular menu items at a discounted price, but it is for a smaller portion. Don’t count on your waiter to make that distinction for you when you order– I found out the hard way when I got the check …

I love this place! It’s a perfect place to stop for lunch between classes since it’s just across the street from Fresno State. Everything is reasonably priced. Their sushi called the Sexy Cowboy is my new addiction! Oh my gosh, not only is it super tasty but it’s filling too! Of course parking is terrible and this location has no bike racks, which really sucks for me. Other than that, this place is amazing!

Nowhere is it authentic or amazing, but their americanized styled sushi is decent, creative and tasty(I mean if your just looking to have rolls with the sauce and all that gimmick this place will do, but if you want sashimi and real nigiri sushi, this is the wrong place), and they also offer some fusion-nized american Korean favorites like bibbimbap and sundubu(tofu soup). They aren’t the cheapest for the fresno market either, but it is a convenient location for Fresno State students. As a sushi snob, I must communicate to other sushi snobs that the raw fish here is not the freshest, but Im not saying that its rotten or anything, its just isn’t the quality I would eat sashimi or nigiri sushi. Therefore, this is the perfect place to order rolls, since the fish is not the highlight of your meal anyways. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap $ 10.95; a dolsot simbimbap is basically the normal bibimbap served in a heated stone bowl: a bibimbap is a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul(sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang(chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang, a salty soybean paste, topped with fried egg. The dolsot here is served with three side dishes(banchan) and contains no meat. The bimbimap here is ok(kinda overpriced with no meat), its not authentic tasting or neither is it amazing in taste, but overall a decent meal. Its a perfect meal for a vegetarian since it doesn’t contain any meat. The Rainbow Roll $ 11.95 here is good and decent. I mean I don’t even like rolls to begin with, because I don’t believe its even legal to be called sushi, its basically an americanized version of sushim. But for what it is, it is well done. The seating is clean and ample, while their service is good, the only complaint I would have is their price, which is steep for the lack of better quality. I do hope they improve on their price for being more affordable to students since their main market is students. I would definitely be back, because this place is decent, but its definitely not my sushi to go place. Its the place I go because its nearby.

This review is for the korean dish, dolsat bibimbap. Sushi ‘n’ Pop has been through some changes, apparently. When I first came here, years ago, there were huge posters of pop artists up, like Brittney Spears on the walls. The walls were filled with anything pop-star related. The speakers would blast anything POP-soaked. We get it… SUSHI + POP. Fast-forward to almost 5+ years later… There are NO pop stars on the wall(thank you, lawd) and NO more pop music blasting on the speakers(thank you, baby cheesus). I’m assuming new owners for the past few years… and NO more ramen chef that used to get rave reviews(which the last year or two). Seems like they’ve gone through different phases. One thing is for sure — the sushi regardless doesn’t blow me away. It’s your typical sushi place which crazy outlandish american styled names to the sushi rolls. And now they’ve got korean dishes. Yay. I honestly come for the dolsat bibimbap. I’ve always had a spot for this korean dish and Fresno does not make it easy to come by. With my experience, it’s always been way overpriced and small portioned due to the scarcity of Korean restaurants in the area. Fresno is changing little by little. The dolsat bibimbap comes in a fiery hot bowl with rice, korean veggies, seaweed, and topped with an egg. Normally, it’ll come with some beef for meat eaters. My vegetarian version goes without it. It comes with 3 – 5 korean sides of either fermented and pickeled kimchi, daikon, cucumbers, potato salad, shredded beef, and/or fish patty(BEWEARY Veggies… ask questions if you’ve unsure of what it is and new to Korean eats). Korean sides vary with what’s available. It’s at a good price for about $ 11, a nice portion size, great standard service — which is the best I’ve seen in Fresno(Considering Samos, Maroo, Yummy BBQ/Asiana). I can still taste the crispy rice from my dolsat bibimbap as I write this review. Be careful with the sauce — it’s spicier than I’m used to. A little goes a long way and I’ll add a bit of soy sauce if it’s bland. BOMBDOTCOM up in carb city.

Super friendly service every time we dine in! I like how this place doesn’t drenched your fresh rolls in sauces compared to other sushi places in Fresno. The fish taste fresh and are cut into good portion size. The sushi chef that made our roll did a great job because it wasn’t so heavy on the rice and the bite size were prefect. Nice restaurant decors, very clean as well. Oh, I also liked how there’s pictures in the menu. One of my favorite sushi place in town!

Good food I would recommend to go during dinner time the food is cheaper. I love how it’s near Fresno state which makes it easier for me to get food when I want to. Also l, I thought that the ice cream there was quite good being my first time trying it. I like how at the end of the meal they gave me a mint.

I have never really had sushi before and the waitress was so nice and helpful. She made some recommendations and we ended up ordering the Sexy Cowboy, Crazy Boy, Red dragon and lobster. It was all so delicious. Can’t wait to go back again!

On the recommendation of a coworker, I decided to try this place. It was empty, which I thought was strange, being so close to Fresno State. Now I know why. The sushi was ok, but the yellowtail was definitely not very fresh, which of course I realized once I was mid swallow. I got a mild to moderate stomach ache, which went away in about 3 hours. The mushroom roll was good, and their wasabi was a bit stronger than most places, but not by a lot. The ice tea was pretty good, not so bitter that I needed to add a lot of sugar, but not as fresh as I would like it, either. This place was so-so. I might come back, but probably not for a long while.

Super friendly welcoming service. I’ve been here a few times in the past and loved it and finally took my dad and friend here and they liked it too! All the roles were done very well and tasted fresh which is saying something since I’m originally from the Santa Barbara beach area. Will return again before I graduate in May

So my boyfriend & I tried this place for the first time last night. & we are going on a double date tonight to Sushi N Pop so I guess that says it all haha. WELOVEDIT!:) he had ordered the baked lobster roll, and I ordered the sexy cowboy which was very filling and we left happy customers! The service was great! Our waiter was very friendly and kept up on our drinks! My boyfriend said the beer wasn’t all that so if you are a beer drinker I wouldn’t waste your money on the beer! But yes I so recommend them! enjoy!

I came here on a Saturday afternoon because my classmate recommended this place as the best sushi in town. I also saw on Unilocal that they serve ramen so that was a great incentive. However, our server informed us that they no longer have a ramen chef. Someone should update the Unilocal photos. We ordered the«Heart Attack» as an appetizer, «Oh Baby», new style sashimi, and baked California roll. I rly hate to give 1 star reviews but we simply did not enjoy a single item, due to the fact that none of the items tasted fresh. Service was also slow because there was only one server for the entire restaurant Oh Baby– It was a weird mixture of carrots, cucumbers and crab(which tasted rly dry) I eventually just ate the tuna. Baked CA roll– The roll was not properly wrapped, the rice tasted stale and hard, and the crabmeat was bland and not fresh. How can you possibly mess up such a simple roll? It may be because we’re from LA and the Bay Area so we hold high expectations, but regardless of that I will never come back here again.

The service of this place was nice. I’m not too sure if our waiter was new, but he kept giving us unsure answers. He was really nice though. The food wasn’t the best. I had a problem with even just my water. There was something floating in it. My boyfriend ordered a baked roll with scallops on top. The roll itself wasn’t baked, and the scallops we were over cooked and dry. I had the playboy which wasn’t bad for a fresh roll, but I wasn’t a fan of the sauce they put on it. I was expecting the sweet, teriyaki type sauce other places normally use, but this one had a slight horseradish type taste to it. I, not being a wasabi fan, wasn’t that pleased with it. The shrimp tempura appetizer was really good though. I wouldn’t go back here unless I absolutely had to, and I wouldn’t suggest it to people if someone asked me for a sushi place to go to. It’s a shame, due to the good service they have, and the prices here aren’t even that bad. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

I decided to try SnP after driving by it home after school for so long. I ended up ordering the Sexy Cowboy and the Baked Salmon Roll. I LOVED the Baked Salmon roll. I love sushi with cream cheese in it and this one was really creamy. I really enjoyed. I ordered to go and service was pretty quick.

Excellent sushi at a reasonable price! The green tea and sunomono cucumber and seaweed salad are perfect starters. The chef will make his recommendation… trust him, he knows what he is doing. The salmon was like butter. Mmmmm

Not a good sushi spot at all. They cater to the university and poor tastes around. The tuna had a high Mercury level and the snow corn roll made me sick :( I’m not coming back!

I came by here due to a message I received that told me the ramen chef from S21 had relocated to Sushi n’ Pop. So of course I had to come try it out. Sure enough it was yummmmmmmy! The broth had the right hearty flavor and perfectly seasoned. The noodles were good, not as great as some I’ve had in the Bay Area but with ramen is mainly about the soup. I got the tonkatsu ramen and noticed that he now adds corn to the soup— jury is still out on that one. The chef actually came out to greet us and asked if we enjoyed our ramen — he was genuinely concerned about our experience. Hooray for ramen in Fresno. Next time I’ll have to try their sushi ** UPDATE: Ramen chef no longer here :(** If anyone knows where he went. PLEASE message me!!!

My coworker told me about ramen at S-n-P. I didn’t believe it bcuz ramen n Fresno is rare. Usually its the phở crap that Im not a fan of. But anyways yes I walked in and was greeted by Masa san! I didn’t kno he was the ramen cook! So I knew i was in for a treat. I got the Milky Ramen bcuz I like the heavier fatty type broth and I must say it was PRETTYDAMNGOOD. Now people whom kno ramen kno that Daikokuya n LA is the best. BUT I was really impressed with the Milky ramen. The broth is the key, it had nice fat globules floating on top and had a good mouth feel. Broth had a good temp to it and the ramen had a nice subtle chewiness to it. cooked al dente. My ONLY complaint to Masa was thats the meat was lacking. Although the meat was tender and tasty, they only put 22 inch slices of meat in it which n my opinion is not enuf. I will DEFINITELY b back there soon!

I went to this place for the first time to eat Japanese Ramen today because my friend told me that a good Japanese kitchen chef just got started working over there. So I decided to have lunch with my sister today. I ordered milky ramen and my sister ordered shoyu ramen. And guess what… they were actually pretty good! We love the broth. I was so glad that they don’t serve soggy noodles. Even though the price was a little bit higher than I expected(around $ 8~$ 10) I think it’s worth it. I also heard that they have good rolls so I will try them next time. I will definitely go back to this place.
